Very limit wine selection by the glass and expensive. Then had a $55 steak kabob. Felt it was over priced.

Lovely evening with live jazz and great service. We shared appetizers and had a couple delicious cocktails. The server Olivier went above and beyond to make the evening special. Great place for an intimate date or evening with friends.

The food was excellent! Shared the gluten free fried calamari and then we each had a burger which was delicious. GF bun available too which was very good! Wonderful selection of BC wines to choose from. The live music was also amazing. A little loud at first but the server asked us immediately how the sound level was for us and had them turn it down a bit right away. We really enjoyed our evening and our out of town guests were very impressed.

Quality live music (Thursday evening late summer) and delicious food, we enjoyed indoor dining, but outside with the heat lamps would have been equally enjoyable… Outstanding chocolate hazelnut torte. A few selections of local wine we hadn’t seen before. Top notch !

It was nice ambience. The appetizers we got were great but our server forgot to put in our dinner order. She came to ask about dessert and tea after our appetizers, thinking we were finished when we had t even had our entrees yet. The two tables that sat down after us got their dinner 30 minutes before us. Our main entrees should have come just as we were finishing our appetizers. 40 minutes between appetizer and main is way too long of a wait. The food was good but priced too high for the small portion sizes. Not sure I'd go back.

Those were the tiniest (& possibly the most expensive) mussels I have ever eaten in my life. The sauce was delicious, fortunately, but I think you need to find another supplier.

We really wanted to love it but we just didn’t have a great experience. We had a reservation and were greeted right away by a nice gentleman and sat at a lovely table inside. Then we waited ten minutes for our server to show up. I was just walking up to ask and ran into her coming our way. All would have been forgiven with a quick sorry, a warm welcome and enthusiasm for the food but alas it was not to be. The server did not apologize, did not offer suggestions and actually walked away before the table was done ordering. The food that followed was fine enough. We ordered the bursts tart appetizer, branzino for two, a burger with poutine and even went for cheesecake, crème brûlée and lava cake for dessert. Unfortunately it just didn’t rise up to the special experience we wanted, maybe because we just wanted to be excited about it and that was squelched pretty quickly. We still tipped the server 20% because maybe she was just having an off day and I know people work hard. Maybe we’ll come back and try again, but probably not real soon.

So sad! We come to Nelson every year over the August long for our anniversary. Embarrassing we come to pitchfork twice a day. We tell everyone to check it out. But last night was super disappointing. I think service in Nelson is lacking because they don't have enough staff. So, I believe you may find this at multiple businesses (that being said, full circle this morning, had less staff and their service was better). But the food (this is why I go to Pitchfork) was so bad. I got the Salmon Salad. There was a quarter of the salad that I got from previous years, plus there was missing ingredients. The salmon was cooked to perfection, tho. My husband ordered the chicken salad. There was no salad, all bitters, and missing the most of the ingredients. The chicken had zero taste, like they overcooked it in water then charred it. The waiter made a comment about they use what they have in the kitchen. We assume this means that they have run out of ingredients and are using whatever they have left. They gave us a poutine on the house, and that was not very good either, barely any taste and the cheese was not even melted. They gave us the poutine and took half the price off the chicken salad. With my 2 glasses of wine and ferments to start, it was still over $100. I am so sad, because I loved this place. But they have gone down hill. A few people around us, were also disappointed with their food. I think for the amount of money, it is hard to risk spending so much money on moderate food. Full circle was super tasty breakfast and my friends love the Mexican restaurant. We will try the Mexican restaurant tonight before we head out of Nelson. I guess we are open to trying other businesses now.

The chicken for 2 was amazing and great value. The steak was over priced and inconsistent. Give me a break, $55 for 3 little pieces of steak on a skewer. One piece raw, one piece over cooked, and one piece just right. I have eaten here a few time and some of the dishes are amazing and others suck. Might think twice before coming back.

We enjoyed our dinner very much, but the service was a bit flat and we didn't care for our table. We were stuck against a blank wall right beside the servers' station -- we could have asked to move, so that's on us. Overall great meal, but service in Nelson in general is lacklustre.

Delicious half chicken but portion of veggies that came with it was small, not enough for two people, we left hungry after paying quite a bit of money for the experience. Service and ambience were good. Would recommend but making sure they know above the portions. A bit more of veggies would go a long way.

had an inside reservation since no patio available but when we got there hostess found us a nice patio table. we weren't that hungry after a later than usual lunch so we opted for several apps to share. one was sliced carrots sauted with onions (I think) and some honey covered pearls of something (sorry don't remember) and served over ricotta if im not mistake, all of which were awesome. also ordered the Brussel sprouts, roasted with an incredibly good sauce, and quite delicious! each of these were around $17cnd and were a good value. the bottle of pinot noir was excellent. coming from the okanogen area, a Fox and Archer 2020 unfiltered gem, although a bit pricey at 76, but that's the usual markup. the most disappointing part was the last app, the heirloom tomatoes and buratta tart. perhaps 2 nice tomatoes, a yellow and a red, along with a very tiny bit of buratta, not enough to share for sure....oh, and about a 6" piece of crust on one of the edges of the main plate. all this goodness for a mere $35 cnd....toally a rip off. I get farm to table, having eaten at many in farm to table country in Central Oregon and the Willamette Valley wine country. this dish couldn't have cost more than 2-4 $ for each tomato, 4-5 for the itty bitty piece of burtta, and 1 $ at most of the crumb of crust, this amounted to a 10 $ plate for $35. oh well, on vaca and not going to make a scene, but before you go, check the menu to see if you think the prices are a good value or just showing off the chef's idea of a decent profit margin. our waitress was perfect, attentive, not overbearing in any way, and she is to be commended.

Pitchfork is our favourite restaurant in Nelson however this time we were disappointed. Although we had great service, the fries were soggy, there were literally flies all over us inside the restaurant, shell fragments in all of the mussels and particularly small portion sizes given the price tag on menu items. We spent $300 for four people, one appetizer for the table, two drinks each and no dessert so I guess we expect a bit more attention to the little things. I look forward to Pitchfork upping their game for our next visit.

This is tough to write. We've been going to this place in its one form or another for many years. We were looking forward to a nice evening with our friends. We knew we'd spend a lot, but we thought we'd be able to have a nice meal and visit. Not so. The first thing you should know is that they have live music there and it is very loud. On the patio the music is so loud it is difficult to have a conversation. When we asked them to turn it down, the change in volume was imperceptible. It's like involuntarily being at a loud concert whether you like the music or not (We didn't). Secondly, the service is good, yet dirty dishes were being dumped loudly less than a couple of feet from my head with a jarring effect. I wondered, was it on purpose because we asked them to turn down the music? The server was very good. The food was fairly well prepared, although the "buttermilk calamari" was not memorable. Portions are small and entrees are expensive (one item - a ribeye for 2-3 people $180). The least expensive red wine - $59 for the Deep Roots Gamay ($22.50 in a store) seemed too high. Now they could be paying their staff so well that the higher prices must be made to make the budget, and if so, that's great, but limits diners to wealthy folks. So many other good places to eat in town. Regarding the music: In a restaurant, it should be ambient music, in the background, low enough so that it supports a dining experience. This "band" played as if they were headlining at a stadium trying to get everyone's attention. If Pitchfork wants to be a music venue, then it should be clear to diners making reservations that if they sit on the patio, they will bar subjected to a full loud concert. Perhaps a demo of the music planned could be posted so we decide whether we want to listen to it blaring as we try and visit.
