Plant Matter Bistro
It would depend on what a friend was looking for as to whether I would recommend the bistro or not. If someone is looking for something a little finer and a bit different, then go to the bistro. I was at the bistro for my anniversary and felt that you received less food for a higher price in comparison to the kitchen. We shared the live rolls, which was awkward because for two people, there were three rolls. I had the bibimbap, and my husband had the bistro bowl. My husband was done long before he felt full, even though he thought the flavours were amazing. My portion seemed larger, and I enjoyed most of it, but started feeling that the saltiness was too much as I made my way to the bottom of the bowl. The chocolate cheesecake was hands down the best part, and I would definitely tell people to try it. The creaminess, richness, and texture would fool anyone into believing it’s cream cheese. My husband and I have been to the kitchen multiple times, and felt that we preferred it over the bistro. It’s nice to finally say that I’ve been to the Plant Matter Bistro, Kitchen, and Café, but for quantity, price, and atmosphere, I prefer the home-like kitchen.
The place was great, save for the bathroom area. The food and service were both fantastic and will be going back again.
We really enjoyed this, our first, experience at Plant Matters. The service was fine, the food delicious. Our only concern was that the drinks were overpriced. I'd return but not order any alcohol!
Another great visit to Plant Matter Bistro! Excellent service (thank you, Lauren) and an excellent meal, beautifully prepared and presented. It was a first visit for two of the guests who loved their experience and will be back, for sure!! Thanks!!
Went for dinner on a Saturday night; probably didn't even need a reservation, it was very quiet. We ordered the live rolls as an appetizer and they were AMAZING -- so flavourful! For mains we had the cauliflower pot-au-feu which was pretty good--could have used more cauliflower--and the enchiladas which were also incredible! I will definitely be back to try more items from the menu.
Food was excellent and the choices were plentiful. The restaurant was noisy because of poor acoustics. There was only nine patrons at the time. However it is still the best plant based restaurant in London we have found.
Very nice, different, first time eating vegan ,lovely being Mother’s Day a dessert would have been nice
Menu was limited and was $ for the value.
Took my mom for mother’s day And we all left very hungry ,,, plates were small and no dessert options ,,,, was disappointed as my mom wanted a nice dessert:(
Great food! we went for the mothers day, they had a fixed menu witch had great verity.
Our server was amazing and so funny!!
The food and service, in my experience, is always supreme quality. PMB has a great vibe to celebrate a special occasion with family and friends or a intimate date night for two.
Excellent experience! Waitstaff very knowledgeable and food was amazing!!
Great service and very knowledgeable server with all our questions about the food!
Pretty much the only decent vegan restaurant in London
We had a great time celebrating my graduation here Friday night! It’s always our first choice when we are celebrating or want a nice night out. The food is always outstanding and blows us away. The service is always exceptional!
We arrived and were seated quickly. The waitress answered all our questions. We are still not sure what Jackfruit is. The food was good. My husbands bowl was cold . We asked the waitress and she said it should have hot elements and some cold. None of it was hot but nothing was offered in the way of a fix. My husband does not normally eat vegan and this was no help in encourage him. He says he would try again but I think we need to try Plant Matters as they have a larger menu selection.
Super Delicious plant-based food! Fantastic service, super cool environment! I’m not vegan and I would come here again and again!
Had lunch with my friend who is from Toronto and is vegan. He was very impressed with the quality of the food. I am not vegetarian but there were many choices on the menu that interested me. I ended up with their risotto which was delicious. My friend had the cauliflower pot-au-feu and he also said his was very good. Only negative was that both dishes were a bit on the salty side.
This was such a great meal. Food was just to die for. Really talented server who I wish I had gotten her name (hair was dyed bright red). I only wish I lived a bit closer as I would be there all the time.
A birthday celebration made extra special with a chefs creation decadent chocolate dessert.
Server very funny and informative, delicious food. I had the risotto and my friend had the bistro bowl - tasty and good portions. Very attentive, checked on refills and took dishes quickly. Finished off with coffee and key lime cheesecake - perfect! Will definitely go again.
Loved this place. Wish there was more vegan sit down restaurants that serve you. Wish there was one in Hamilton
Excellent service, and a very friendly, welcoming environment.
I give 5 because I’ve been here often and it’s always on point. However this time they used fake meat in the Ravioli, I was not a fan. I have had the Ravioli a few times in the past and it’s always been better. If I were Plant matter, I’d steer clear of fake meat unless making a Beyond Burger or something. Still great place, great Value.
The best experience and food you could ask for! Even if you aren’t a strict vegan the food will leave you wanting more but so full you just can’t do it! Wonderful service and friendly atmosphere.
The food was amazing, will definitely be back to try other options! Loved the Juno menu.
Another wonderful dinner at Plant Matter Bistro! Diners can expect a thoughtfully conceived menu, creatively tweaked and beautifully executed. We drive two hours to be here and will happily continue to do so!
The food and service were impeccable! It is my favourite place to eat in London.
Excellent food and service. Great venue to have a bite before the theatre.
Best place in London if you want to try new, delicious dishes.
I went out with my oldest daughter. We don’t get together often so it was such a special treat. Sandi was amazing and the food was devine. We started with fresh rolls and we both had a bowl. Nice wine and lovely ambience.
Feb. 19/19. How amazing to find such a restaurant catering to vegan clientele and using local vegetables when possible. The chef is to be commended, the only glitch was a cold creme brûlée. Linguine with avocado sauce was rich and flavourful. The maitake mushroom steak delicious with vegetables crisp to perfection, mushroom soup beyond the pale. Service was gracious and helpful. Looking forward to enjoying a meal there on our next visit to London. Frank & Liz.
This was our first visit to PMB - an anniversary dinner. We found the portions a bit small for the price, and both our dishes were WAY too salty (and generally we like salty foods!). If you have a big appetite I don't think you'll be satisfied with one main dish, and most of them are about $20 each. However, the food was obviously crafted with care, our server was delightfully quirky and friendly and the atmosphere was nice (the bar height tables are a bit small and squished though). Although I know local and organic ingredients cost more, overall I found we paid far too much for the experience ($75 after tax and tip for an appetizer, 2 mains and a bottle of Booch - no alcohol or dessert). I might try it again and order a different meal to give it a second chance, but it was disappointing; it certainly didn't live up to my expectations.
We went to PMB for Valentine's Day (my partner and I are both vegan). The food was amazing, as usual. I frequently dine at their other restaurants as well (Plant Matter Kitchen & Plant Matter Cafe). I was not disappointed!
Showed up to reservation on Valentine’s Day. No one told us it was a set menu. The server was very rude when telling us there is no other option.
Whether you're vegan or not you will not be disappointed!
We had a great experience, the food and service were all great.
Great Londonlicious menu. Everything was tasty and fresh, and service was fabulous. Amazing flavours from appetizers to mains to desserts. Portion sizes were perfect with just enough left over to take home for lunch the next day. A wonderful experience all around.
Really enjoyed our visit for Londonlicious. The restaurant was pretty quiet but filled up more later into the evening. We both enjoyed the food and were surprised at the generous portions of our starter plates on the fixed menu. The service was very attentive and our waitress checked in on us and gave us great recommendations. The only glitch came when it was time to pay and our waitress seemed to disappear. Eventually another server came over to help us. I’d definitely come back again. Not the cheapest but good value for what we ate.
Food is absolutely amazing!!
The atmosphere is modern with comfort. The lighting is perfect for a date or special occasion plus The service was also excellent.
Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here Saturday evening. There was lots to choose from on the menu and we appreciated being able to have a glass of wine and/or beer to accompany our meal. Although we are not vegan, it was enjoyable dining. Interesting and creative options. Our server was delightful.
