   The food was really good. The waitress was great, except she didn’t warn us about the hidden fees. All of us got cocktails or wine and the pasta prix fixe ($76) per couple. When it came time for dessert she really pushed that we either get the berry tiramisu, the chocolate cake or the BOMBE. Two of us got the tiramisu and one got the cake. The dessert was supposed to be part of the pasta prix fixe. We got the bill and there was an up-charge for the desserts. We asked her about it and she said, “oh yea since those are weekly specials there is an up-charge.” Never were we warned about that. She just kept recommending those. Also, we noticed there was a service fee for non-cash…again not notified about that. Overall, the food was good and really she was a good waitress. I just think you should warn your customers before you just start throwing hidden fees on everything and never telling them. There are a lot of amazing Italian restaurants across Kansas City with just as good of food for a fraction of the cost and no hidden fees. So, I will make sure all of my friends know before they go to watch for all of the hidden fees.

   Amazing food and service as usual. Whether its a casual night with my kiddos, a girls night of great wine, or a special occasion Plate has never disappointed. So many delicious options that are not your usual heavy Americanized Italian food. I always leave full but not feeling heavy and there's always leftovers in the fridge. Def recommend

   We booked online and had never been to the area before. This place was great! They had a super welcoming greeter to welcome us in and our waiter, Steven H., was so much fun. We came for a bachelorette party and they made sure we had the best experience beginning to end. The food was delicious and the wait was not bad at all for a Friday evening. We especially loved the champagne toast they gave us! 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

   This was our first visit on a busy Thursday night at Plate in Brookside. Maybe a little too busy for the wait staff.... Our server was delightful though I think the server's plate was full and as a result, the service was a bit slow. We attributed the slower than desired service to be the result of too many restauranteurs and too few wait staff. We tried the bolognese (very good), the arrabbiata with a meatball (spicy, but very good) and the carbonara (described as mediocre by one of our guests). We also all had the 1/2 caesar and it was perfectly good. The food presentation was very nice and the serving sizes were perfect. More than enough but not so much that everyone had a "to go" box. The atmosphere is very good as is the music vibe. Our server who was otherwise solid, was unable to describe the special of the evening; the server described it as an item already on the menu with a twist, but the server could not explain what the twist was. Perhaps inadequate communication with the chefs or head server.

   We had a truly outstanding dining experience, one that left us feeling extremely satisfied and delighted in every way. It was not just about the food, but also the ambiance, service, and overall atmosphere. This was a great dining experience, that created a lasting impression and exceeded our expectations.     We are on the patio and enjoyed being able to visit. The appetizers of meatballs and garlic bread with white truffle butter was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their pasta dishes. The desserts are not to be missed. We had the bombolini and berry tiramisu.

    It was anniversarydinner. The Gorganzola, Pear brushetta was excellent. The first two bottles of wine we ordered were sold out. That was sad. The Pork Chop and arugula salad was very tasty. I would have preferred that it not have been pan fried. The Bologense was veru good, as was the Mushroom Rissoto. For dessert we shared a beery like Tiramisu. Overall it was a very good experience. They do charge a non-cash fee of 2.75% if you do use a credit or debit card. I do not appreciate that practice.

    Our table was not available for nearly 20 minutes past our reservation. Another patron kept headbutting me while we were seated in our booth. The other patron stepped on my shoulder and jumped out off the booth. Our waters were rarely refilled. The pace of service was very slow. It took over 30 minutes from. The time we ordered beverages to receiving them. An antipasti dish was forgotten. And the restrooms were out of toilet paper. This is the second horrible experience our family of 6 has had here.

    The food here is always great. We came for Mother's day brunch and we weren't disappointed. However, for the price I would expect the buffet line to be constantly filled instead of having to wait for empty containers to be refilled. That part was a little disappointing. Everything being said, we will continue to eat here, again, the food is always excellent.

    The food quality was solid and it was a good value, I'll say that. Unfortunately, the dance club music was so loud outside that even though we were sitting next to each other on the same side of the table we had to practically shout to hear each other talk - which the rest of the customers were doing as well so you can imagine how loud it was (and no I am not in the boomer category). It took over 30 min before someone acknowledged our existence, and the server kept telling us the bar and kitchen had been "backed up all night." Not our vibe so we likely won't be going back.

    The food for the price is mediocre. I ordered the salmon which came on a plate with several raw grape tomatoes as a garnish . A home cook could do better. Will not go back

    We brought friends for their first visit and it did not disappoint. Food was excellent and service was very attentive without being too much. From the garlic truffle bread, the pasta entrees, and ending with the Bombe, it was all excellent!

    The food is good. My Wife said her frittata was kinda flavorless. The Pasta Carbonara I had was awesome. The Tomato and ricotta bruschetta was great. I feel dinner is really what too come for next time and better than brunch.

    Fabulous food and service! Best meal out in quite some time. Thanks, Shiloh, for a great dining experience. And we highly recommend the donuts and lemon curd for desert! Pastry chef nailed it! Oh, and the Moderno salad was also fab! Have to come back for the sea bass.

    The food was excellent, we enjoyed the burrata appetizer and the brussel sprouts. Had a terrific martini . Dinner was fresh pasta, papradelle, the on menu selection was favored over those who got the special. Great wine selection and a shared dessert. We ran up quite a bill but it was fun regardless .     Visiting from out of state, and took my son and his girlfriend out for dinner. None of us had eaten here before. We all absolutely loved our food, and the wine, and the service was excellent! We sat outside on a covered patio, and it was a very pleasant beautiful evening. We definitely will have to come back here!
