A glass of wine or pint of beer can be added to any menu for $5. All menu prices include tax, service and non-alcoholic beverages. No room fees, or deposits required. We do request a credit card be kept on file to hold your space. For all groups over 25 we require entree counts 3 days prior to event. We are happy to provide indicator cards for your guests. There is a food and beverage minimum for the Patio, and Friday & Saturday nights from June through October and for the month of December. The minimum for our semi-private room which will hold up to 35 is $1200. For the main dining room which will hold 100 is $6000. If you need only part of the main dining room the minimum is $3000.00. If you would like to book the Patio the minimum is $3000.00, the Patio will seat 50

I loved the food and the service! I highly recommend this restaurant. My daughter ordered Alfredo Fettuccini: very creamy and delicious. My sister order Lasagna: Delicious! I ordered Clams and linguini with wine and garlic sauce...Delicious!

We were eating late and were among the last customers of the night. There was no feeling of pressure to hurry and the staff was wonderfully helpful with recommendations. The food was delicious! We would definitely return.

This was our first visit to Pompei's Grotto and we will definitely be return customers. The menu had a variety of choices, the staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent!

Been a while since last visit, so pleased to see improvement in decor and ambiance. Food also seemed better. Great crab dishes as usual. The fish and chips were a happy hour deal. Fries are hot and perfectly salted. Crab cioppino was tasty and we mopped up the broth with the sourdough bread. Draft wine choices were nice too.

Food was absolutely awful (and definitely not cheap). The chicken was chewy. The food was greasy. It was the worst restaurant I’ve been to in SF. Extremely disappointed.

Pompei's Grotto is not as fancy as some of the other restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf but the food is delicious and the service was great! We celebrated my husband's birthday there and had a wonderful time.

This is usually one of my first stops in San Francisco, however, this last visit was not good at all. Most importantly, the quality of food has gone down. I have always ordered the crab sandwich and this time it tasted more like mayonnaise than crab. The half order of Dungeness crab was small and rather fishy. On a positive note, the fries were fantastic. Our server didn’t even acknowledge us to take our drink order for 15 minutes after being seated. We were not served bread until our meal arrived. I hope the restaurant and our server were just having an off day because I would hate to completely write off this restaurant.

Pompei's Grotto is great for what it is: good variety, good food, moderately priced, on the Wharf. I had a grilled scampi/scallop dish. Others had chicken, vegetarian angel hair pasta, pasta with a Bolognese meat sauce. The side was sauteed zuchinni and it is was perfect (always a hard one to keep crisp AND hot). We were all happy with our meals and dining experience. It's on par with Boudin.

The waitress, Aspasia, was rude and actually rolled her eyes at us. My wife was furious at the service and the waitress's attitude almost ruined our marriage anniversary.

This restaurant was initially chosen because of location and the menu found on the internet. Our group of seven consisted of family members that hadn't seen each other in about five years. This restaurant did their best to leave us alone to talk and catch up while they provided good food and great service. The two-year-old in our group was deemed the "Princess" by our waiter and received extraordinary attention and service that made our evening memorable. We all had a great time here. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Do not go if you live in the city of San Francisco. It is not worth the trek down to fisherman's wharf to eat it. As a San Franciscan I was truly disappointed by what I got. The chowder was decent enough, but when i got down to the entree, it was just ehhh. It was three piles of stuff, I had the pompei's combination plate of prawns, scallops, crab legs and scampi, they all sound good, but the presentation was just mediocre at best and putrid at the worst. I tasted a good amount of the wine, but it covered up too much of the flavor of any of seafood. Oh well at least i did not get sick.
