The food was perfection. As was the service! Unfortunately, the noise level was so loud! We were celebrating our anniversary, and couldn’t oven hold a conversation. We were sat in this sweet little room with other 2-tops. Shortly after being seated, however, the tables were pushed together and a large group of college students were sat in the room with us. They were very loud and we literally could not hear each other without yelling. We sat in silence because we could not compete with the how loud they were. They got louder as the drinks were served. It was such a disappointment. In hindsight, we should have asked if we could be relocated to a quieter spot, but we didn’t. Our bad.

Our server Erica was lovely. The short rib bolognese was exceptional. No exaggeration. Meatball appetizer was flavorful but with just two small meatballs for $18 too skimpy. And no bread for the table to mop up the delicious sauce. We did add a side order of focaccia to do just that but it should have been provided with the dish. Had to send the eggplant back as I couldn't cut through it and when I turned it over, it was fully burned. Instead of chancing another attempt, we ordered a second bolognese, which seemed safe (and was utterly wonderful). For drinks we had a bourbon sour cocktail that was good and a few glasses of pinot noir.

Bar Harbor is starving for quality restaurants. Aside from the typical boiled/steamed lobster and fried fish, there are VERY FEW places that offer a quality meal that is not lobster.fish based, and Porcelli's is one of them! This place should be packed every night. We were a group of 4. Our host was polite, and as requested, seated us at a quiet corner table. Some us had cocktails to start -- some fine tuning on the old fashioned is needed with clear ice cube and less simple syrup and more options for bourbon. The Cosmo was also too sweet -- easy fixes! The Arugula salad was simple and enough for 3-4 people to have some greens. The focaccia bread was fresh and delicious. The Orecchiette and Ravioli were beautifully prepared, and two of us had the Short-rib Pappardelle Bolognese, and this was spectacular! Fresh, homemade pasta, a few glasses of their Super Tuscan, polite and attentive service from Donat, and quiet ambience made for a fantastic meal. We did not order dessert. Other guests were raving about the Osso Bucco but we did not try. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Very very heavy food with large portions. If that is your thing, enjoy. Not mine. Soup was great but mains were overwhelming.

There were two of us and they put us outside on the deck. It was too chilly outside (the metal chairs didn't help). We did ask for indoor seating but they were expecting a large cycling group and suggested to us it would be too loud. I probably could have insisted on inside, but didn't want to be a problem so we sat outside and I shivered through dinner. Not a great experience.

Porcelli’s exceeded our expectations in every way. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. The prices were quite reasonable for a resort town restaurant. Bottom line is my wife said she wanted to go again the next night.

All of the meals were enjoyable. Celery root soup (daily special) was a standout. Generous portions. Nice atmosphere, though noise level fluctuated between moderate and loud. Wait staff were pleasant, but seemed stretched too thin between the dining rooms, making service slow and details missed, eg soup spoons and checking in for timely coffee or ? and check retrieval. (Not everyone wants to pay via QR code on phone.) Overall Porcelli's is a solid addition to local restaurants and we all look forward to returning in the future.
