    Service was good however food quality was poor. We have been going to this restaurant since they opened. Unfortunately it’s just not consistent. We never know what we will get when it comes to the quality of food or service. Not sure how much we will continue to go here

    We have always loved Porters! Under the new ownership/ management, we have been disappointed with a few menu items and the efficiency of the kitchen and serving staff in our past few visits. Please bring back the Parmesan Crisp that comes with the Caesar Salad and the original salad. Also the protein portion on the salad needs to larger. 3 shrimp is not enough. Thanks.

    The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I have celiac disease and a nut allergy and the chef was very accommodating. This was an excellent location for a business meal but was charming enough that several couples were there celebrating anniversaries.

    We used to really enjoy Porters and it was fun to treat our son to a nice meal when visiting However, this time the food was tasteless and they brought our Caesar salads that had no dressing…plus charged us for steak sauce and no bread or cornbread! We won’t be going back even though we stay at the George

    We waited 45 minutes to be served our first order of drinks. 1 glass of wine, 2 martinis, and 1 old fashion. The restaurant was not full. Appetizers were great- calamari and quail legs. Asked for sliced lemon which never arrived. Dinner order took long. The one salad was served after the steaks hit the table. The risotto was so over cooked it looked like mashed potatoes and tasted like glue. The mashed potatoes were - eh. Carrots were excellent. All three steaks were cooked to incorrect temperatures and were not hot when served. They asked if ok. We said yes just because we weren’t going to complain further. 2 ice cream desserts served but we did not have spoons or forks. 5 minutes later after ice cream is melting on warm desserts we were asked if tea spoons were ok. We have dined at Porters on numerous occasions. Even had seated dinner for 30 on one occasion. Sadly, the experience has never been amazing. This was by far the worst.

    Our server, Kyle, was wonderful. We were hoping for cornbread before the meal, but the cooks were behind and it came with the meal, instead. Our table had not been prepared properly with silverware rolled in napkins. Wine, green beans and dessert were exceptional. Chicken fried steak was okay, but gristly, not too warm, and barely enough gravy. Potatoes seemed reheated from hours ago. Peach cobbler was delicious. The rug in the dining room was truly sad. Ambience, however, was very nice and we could actually hear our conversation. That in itself is worth quite a lot these days. Again, our server was very personable and competent. Probably should have gone with the steaks, but we weren't hungry enough.

    Took friends that had never been there, and bar service to the table was very slow. Server was very pleasant, but perhaps had too many tables, bc did either did not bring some requests at all or we would ask for several times. Some of our dishes were excellent and some were room temp, but flavorful. Fish was overcooked on two of our 6 meals. I have had very good service and meals there in the past, so this was disappointing.

    We were seated between two large parties. The tables were so close together it was difficult for not only us to get to the table but the waiter had to walk around another table to get to us. The noise level at times was so high that I couldn’t hear the person sitting across from me at the table.

    Zero stars would be too high of a review. As I arrived I was told that I had made a reservation for 2 people instead of six - which logging in to my opentable after the experience I have proof is incorrect as I did make the reservation for six. We were told we could not be accommodated, except for outside. I specifically made this reservation to celebrate a 78th birthday party and chose the restaurant for the ambiance, tablecloths on tables, etc. explained I had one person over 80 with recent knee surgery and needed regular seats yet we were herded to the outside seating on high chairs, on a dilapidated outside table. On our way out we walked through the inside seating where there was an empty table for six, and empty continuous booth seating (with 8 empty seats) . We were told those would be taken by other reservations but in the over 2hr it took for us to have dinner (see below) no one used these 14 available seats inside. The service was HORRIBLE- our food orders were incorrect. The ribeye came by itself without the mac and cheese side that had been ordered. They then proceeded to bring three filets (instead of the two we had ordered) and couldn’t tell which was the 8oz vs the 10oz, let alone know which of the three was medium rare and which was the one ordered well done. The sides to these two filets were doubled. And for the seabass, we requested that the brusells sprouts and carrots be replaced by brocollini - it was not brought out until we reminded them of it (and we were charged as a side instead of it being a replacement for the other veggies not included in the dish). No somelier came to our table, although we asked for the wine menu, and ordered a bottle of wine. And in spite of them knowing this was a Birthday celebration not even a Happy Birthday was wished by the supervisor who came to give us a half apology for not seating us inside. Let alone a complimentary birthday desert for the birthday lady. I have never been so embarrassed. Never again!

I have looked into the service issues that you spoke of, and I would like to deeply apologize. There is no response that I can give you that will fix the lack of service you experienced last night. I want to thank you for writing this review, as it gives us a chance to improve. Your visit did not meet your standards, and most certainly fell short of ours. If you and your guests are willing, I would love to invite you and your party back in to dine with us once more, to try and right our wrongs.
