My husband and I took my 85 year old Mom for Sunday dinner. We all chose the dinner special and were delighted with our selection. We were able to comfortably enjoy conversation over a delicious, well-paced meal.

Great restaurant, the food is excellent, service top quality, intimate classy decor and ambience. Rosa and Peno and their staff are consistently great. We ordered multiple menu items and all were exceptional! A favourite place.

The 3 course special they have is pretty good. The salad and the panna cotta dessert was great. The spaghetti was a pretty good portion with fish and shrimp. Overall a great place to go to for dinner.

We decided to take our Mothers to celebrate their Birthdays. We all enjoyed the special $39 menu for 3 courses. There was plenty of food. Great ambiance and service. We even got a complementary Frangelico liquor after dinner. We have been there several times and have always enjoyed the food and service.

I had heard mixed reviews about Portobello, so decided to give it a try. Myself and a friend ordered off the "Crave the Heights" menu. The special included Caesar salad, Spaghetti de Mare, and Panna Cotta for dessert. The Caesar salad was quite tasty with a light dressing and the seafood spaghetti was enjoyable, but a bit bland. The highlight of the meal was the panna cotta. It had a delicate lemon flavour and was so yummy I almost ordered a second one! Shoutout to our server, David - he was great!

Portobello restaurant had a delightful ambiance, the music was low enough and noise level was manageable. The highlight of our 10-guest visit was the service from Pascal and David, they were exceptional in delivery. They were friendly, attentive and kind. The food was a sumptuous variety of Italian cuisine and the portion sizes generous. We would definitely visit again.

This was our first visit to Portobello and we will definitely be back. The service was excellent, friendly and inviting without being stuffy. The restaurant was very nicely designed and comfortable for our dinner. The food was amazing. The Gamberi appetizer was one of the best I’ve had. Our pasta dinners were delicious and nicely seasoned. The meatballs were terrific. The lemon pannacotta was wonderful. Smooth with a strong lemon flavour but not overpowering. It was refreshing and very much enjoyed. What a great finish to an amazing meal. Thank you

Overall this was an excellent experience. We went with the Burnaby Crave Menu and selected a 3 course dinner each. It was a very good introduction to the menu and we look forward to dining here again but with less food. Service, ambiance, and wine was exceptional.

Why had we not been here before Friday night! Everything about Portobello was amazing. From the moment we walked (on the wrong night - I incorrectly booked) to the moment we left, we were greeted with smiles and kindness. The restaurant is lovely and the service was exceptional and I haven't even gotten to the food yet! The food was delicious! My husband and I enjoyed the dinner special and it was fantastic and our friends also really enjoyed their meal. Dessert was delicious, lemon panacotta - OMG - SO GOOD! from start to finish this was an exceptional experience and we cannot wait to get back!

A nice quiet neighbourhood restaurant for friends and family to dine out with a bit of style. The staff was attentive, and the owner came over to check up on us. I got the Spaghetti di Mare and it was delicious. Also got burrata and mussels as appetizers and they were so fresh. Good portions too. If you live in the area, consider supporting this local restaurant for your next celebration.

Our first visit to Portobello was excellent! 5 of us had a lovely dinner celebrating my spouse’s Birthday. Service was impeccable, appetizers, salad, dinner & dessert were all delicious! They even surprised us with a special Birthday dessert just for my spouse - very thoughtful (and tasty!) :) Looking forward to going back again!

Top shelf service from David, risotto was excellent… super creamy and perfect texture. My dining companion’s spaghetti bolognese was also excellent! Cannot state how the service really elevated our dining experience.

As usual, the food was very good. Unfortunately, our evening was ruined due to a group of 6 who thought the entire restaurant should be made aware of the events in their lives. They were unbelievably loud. We could not hear the people across the table. Apparently they are more frequent customers than we are and nothing was said to them about their behaviour. They may be return customers but others who were in the restaurant that night, may not return.

What a lovely spot to dine. Pino and Rosa and Sante (our server) certainly are pros in terms of welcoming their guests, understanding just how much to participate in table talk, sense of humour but most of all - exceptional food. We have been there twice in less than a month - both times I had the seafood risotto thinking maybe I lucked out on the first try but no, it was the BEST seafood risotto I have ever had. This will be come a favourite go to for my family. Highly recommend to anyone, Pina.
