The restaurant itself was beautiful, we sat on the patio and had a great view of the park over the water. Our service was not great, we only saw our waitress to to our order, bring our drinks and our food. Our food took about an hour and fifteen minutes to come, no one came to our table in that time to check in or see if we needed more drinks which we did - it seemed like quite a few other tables were having the same issue, we witnessed one couple leave. The restaurant only had about 1/3 or so of their tables full at that time. The food was decent for the price but nothing special. The restaurant and location itself were really the only highlights of the experience.
Sunday brunch with my brother and mom. We sat on the patio. That was lovely. The service was ok but the brisket hash was completely oversold. There was a mouthful of crispy flavourless brisket, a big pile of “potato/pepper” hash and 2 undercooked eggs. As one of there feature brunch items it really disappointed. Not worth it. I quietly mentioned to waitstaff. They indicated they would mention to kitchen. No response from kitchen, day manager. I repeated to day manager and he apologized and indicated the kitchen staff were likely conserving for a busy brunch day. No offer to compensate as we left. So hence this very blah review. Would not go if you want a reasonable meal based on menu description. You will be disappointed.
Yes, very much so, especially before a Rainbow Stage production.
We attended Prairies Edge prior to going to Rainbow Stage’ performance of Strike. Even though the restaurant was the full service was courteous, professional and efficient. We both chose to pickerel cheeks salad and were very pleased with both the quality and quantity. The accompanying house salad was also outstanding.
Great as always. The manager there is helpful and attentive every time we go there! He really adds to the experience.
Hopefully this visit was a “miss” - I have always enjoyed the food here but it was very disappointing in this case. First off they were out of brisket, corned beef and Reuben options, finally settled on the egg salad sandwich. Unfortunately, this was very dry, not much in it and no flavour - stuffed with a lot of green! Oh, also found a small hair in the fries ☹️.
I will try again, hoping this was an off day
Seafood pasta and banana dessert was not good at all. We would come back and try something different as the location and ambiance is amazing.
Service was a delight. But price of the food is not reasonable. There's more affordable restaurants that serves better and more delicious food.
We had a gift certificate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The food was delicious - the best pork I have ever had - not at all dry, and very flavourful. The service was wonderful - the wait staff were considerate of our obvious need to "catch up" on each other's news and didn't force us to order quickly or vacate our table promptly at the end of the meal. We had a lovely window seat and the views of the park were spectacular. My out-of-town companion was very impressed with the experience, as was I.
We ordered two appetizers and were amazed at the quality. We had the beet fritters and bacon Mac ‘ancini’ and loved it. We couldn’t wait for our entrees but unfortunately, neither of us enjoyed our main meals. I had the Prairie Fried Rice (it was flavorless and the egg and meats were over cooked) while my sister had the Veggie Pasta. It was hard to find any vegetables, didn’t have much sauce and not enough cheese. The service was excellent. We would go back, but maybe just for appetizers.
It was my first time at Prairie's Edge, and I was pleased to see such a great selection on the menu. SEVERAL tempting dishes to choose from, and I and my guest enjoyed our meals very much. Looking forward to visiting again to try some of the other dishes.
Lovely view of the water from the patio - some noise from the public at times, but that's to be expected.
I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.
Way way way over priced for something you feed prisoners at Stoney Mountain. The food tastes like it was reheated. The spaghetti tastes like it was out of a can. The ROSTED Chicken tastes like it was boiled. Who ever the chef is should not even work at McDonalds. Waiter was good though.
Our lunch reservation was perfect. Food, service, table and cleanliness. Looking forward to a return visit to enjoy other menu selections.
Three of our table of four ordered the seafood pasta. Although the pasta was well cooked and the dish was hot, we found there to be not much seafood and the flavor of the dish was very bland.
I think it was good, but the food could be better, it should be really great. It’s just ok the waiter was fantastic. The place is nice but very rushed.
We dined there a few months ago everything was amazing , Including food dishes ordered. So we decided to take our visitors from BC. The veggie pasta was terrible this time. Just pasta and sauce hardly any veggies. I think we saw four little pieces of veggies. The bison burger was smaller looked like a golf ball on a big bun and the fries that came with it were like burnt or refried one inch pieces. Horrible. The spaghetti was bland no flavour at all. The sauce tasted like canned tomatoes only. The fish and chips....the fish was okay but same thing with the fries little hard burnt chunks. The Sandwhich corned beef the person who had that said it was not good and again fries horrible. We were very displeased with the meal and embarrassed that we took our guests there. The quality of food went way down from a few months ago.
Our server was very helpful and friendly. The food was okay. There were enough options for every one of my family’s diet restrictions. But we each thought the flavour was lacking. More salt, herbs and spices maybe?
Good food and service
Food tasted great. Too small of portions for price though. Having 4 or 5 baby potatoes and 2 carrot slices and 2 beans as a vegetable does not justify the price or properly compliment the meal. The meat was a nice portion. The salad which was a main dish was the size of a side salad. Not filling. No bread served with the meal either.
Love going to prairies edge. The staff are welcoming and the food is always timely and delicious. We sat on the patio on our last visit with my toddler and he loved watching the ducks land in the pond.
Excellent place to go. A hidden gem in the park. This is my third time there and all have been exceptional. Have yet to be there for dinner but will definitely go soon. Would highly recommend it to anyone!
Great fast food was delivered in a timely fashion; food was hot & very tasty. Would highly recommend
Had a lovely dinner with girlfriends. Two of us had the Arctic Char and it was delicious. The pickerel and chicken dinners were also good. Enjoyed our evening and hope to be back in the near future.
The ambience and service as well as the relaxed park atmosphere made it a good choice for lunch.
The salad and smoked artic char were good. The beef dish was sent back to the kitchen and was replaced with a beef dish that was marginally better.
Top marks for service, relaxed atmosphere. Food is improving, and good with vegan/fish options.
Hoping for more healthy creative vegan options that are locally sourced in The summer.
My favorite place to dine in Winnipeg. Great menu, fantastic lighting and great views!!
This restaurant is a great addition to the park it was badly needed, 5 STARS ALL THE WAY !!!!!!
Beata (hope I spelled her name right) was very Professional, as was all staff , food was great. Will becoming back for sure
Pat and Don Pitman
It was very quiet the night we were there which was nice. Portions were a bit on small side.
We choose this place as we have 2 vegatarians but the lentil burgers were disappointing
Average. Nothing memorable. I usually don’t find WOW properties above average.
It was our first time there and the food was excellent. It's a cute restaurant in the park with a lot of locally sourced foods. I had the veggie burger (in-house made) and a friend had the pork. Both were delicious.
Very nice surroundings and a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Interesting and varied menu with good, friendly service. We enjoyed our meal and the venue and would recommend Prairie's Edge to anyone.
Lunch is a better option than supper. Steak was $34 and came over cooked and we felt the value for the price didn't match.
This was the second time we had been to Prairie Edge and this time it was vastly improved that the first time we went. Our first experience just after they opened was not great but we will always give restaurants we try out a second chance and we are very glad we did.
Mothers Day celebration. Jeremy was great...knowledgeable and excellent sense of humour!
Quality of food was excellent. Service was prompt. Every staff member was very friendly. We would book again as it’s everything you’d want in a dining experience.
One of the most scenic views from a restaurant in Winnipeg on a beautiful park!
We surprised staff by needing an additional placesetting - as we had added another friend to our birthday celebrations. Despite the Restraunt being very busy......we were plesantly accommodated in a timely and friendly fashion. The meals we all vêy good.....service wonderful, and a lovely time was had by all.
We wiĺ definitely return and wish to thank your entire establishment for an amazing afternoon.

My compliments to The bartender!
Sorry, but I would not recommend to anyone. When I phoned the restaurant initially, they never indicated the modified menu and special buffet for mother's day. I was looking forward to certain items on their regular menu and was disappointed. We decided not to go with the buffet because nothing sounded good and the roast beef was bloody. What we did eat was okay and the server was excellent but I wouldn't go again.
It is in an idyllic setting - maybe someone else’s experience would be better. Staff were nice, but made many mistakes that seemed to be due to poor communication. We went up to the Mother’s Day weekend buffet, after being there about half an hour. They cleaned our table, including removing our purses and sweaters. ???!!! Then they took a long time to replace our coffees, etc. Then they forgot about the gluten free dessert my mother inquired about with the buffet. Eventually they brought a frozen dessert nuked to mush. Then they charged it as an extra item, but removed it when we pointed out the mistake. Food was good. Staff had good intentions, but it was an irritating experience.
