The grill in the kitchen was broken which resulted in the food taking an extremely long time to prepare. The waitress was great in refilling our beverages and keeping us informed, but it was a long wait for the food.
The fish and chips, mushroom soup was excellent. Burger was not very good, which seems to be consistent at this location. Too dry....not worth the cost at all. Service was excellent!
I ordered the Pork Tenderloin and it was dry, overcooked and not seasoned. The cranberry sauce contained too much vinegar and the roasted potatoes had too much oil on them. My partner's salad was drenched in oil and vinegar which made it quite soggy.
The beet fritters were delicious & a great start to the meal. Unfortunately, our meals came out luke warm so we sent them back. When the replacement meals came out, they were steaming hot - but my fish was under cooked in the middle. We ended up just sharing my partner’s meal, which was delicious. Our server was great & very apologetic & they covered both meals & our dessert. We would go back based on the service & the attempts to make it right.
I already have recommend Prairie Edge.
Great food and service. Waitress was very knowledgeable. A great way to start our evening out at Rainbow Stage.
This was my second visit after an amazing first visit for dinner.
This visit was for lunch and it was terrible.
I ordered the veggie burger with fries and my partner ordered the grilled cheese with soup. I'll start with the good. The veggie burger was good. Not the best I've add, but good. That's it.
Now to the bad.
The fries were overcooked, rock hard and inedible. I left more than half on my plate because I didn't want to risk chipping a tooth.
My partner's bacon, tomato grilled cheese looked anemic. It had one thin slice of tomato in one half only, and the bacon was non-existent. There was maybe one slice in the entire sandwich.
The soup. It was supposed to be chicken rice. It looked like a broth with barely a tablespoon of rice and one small piece of chicken.
After loving my first visit there, I'd built this up to my partner and I have to say I left embarrassed. I can't say I will ever go back and that's a shame because my first visit was amazing. I'm not sure what's happened/changed in the last three months, but standards have dropped.
Arctic char salad was tiny and there was a hair in my granddaughters fries.
It was lovely. I had mentioned when I booked that it was our anniversary and they brought us a dessert to share!
Good food. Very nice service. Lovely evening sitting on the patio.
Excellence service and food. Will definitely visit again
Food was good, thoughtfully plated and portioned. The brisket, though, was hard and dry. I would likely never order that again. The french fries were spectacular.
Our waiter was excellent! Knowing we were going to Rainbow Stage, he kept checking our orders & letting us know when to expect our food.
Always fantastic food and the very best in customer service. The view is especially nice in the evenings. A favourite among our family!
YOUR HOSTESS AT THE FRONT WAS NOT TOO FRIENDLY..AND WHEN I ASKED ABOUT SITTING ON THE PATIO SHE LIED AND SAID ITS ONLY FOR PARTYS OF TWO PEOPLE..I SAID TO HER..BUT THERE ARE FOUR PEOPLE OUT THERE AND SHE REPLYED..OH WELL IT TO BE RESERVED..NOT TOO IMPRESSED WITH THAT COMMENT..I THEN ASKED MY WAITRESS WHO WAS WONDERFUL AND VERY ATTENTIVE 5 STARS TO HER..SAID THAT THE PATIO WAS PRE-BOOKED AND THE WHOLE RESTAURANT WILL BE FULL IN FIVE MINUTES ...AND SHE WAS CORRECT..THAT WAS ABOUT THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH MY VISIT..IF YOU PUT PEOPLE IN THE FRONT THEY REPRESENT YOUR RESTAURANT ..AND SHE WAS NOT FRIENDLY OR WELCOMING..SORRY..BUT THATS HOW I SAW IT..
Great atmosphere and relaxing. Service was comfortable and natural which made the experience beautiful
We had a delightful time, made very special by the fact that our granddaughter, who is one of your employees, seated us and later spent a couple of minutes ensuring that we were enjoying our visit. The food was delicious and the staff helpful and friendly. We will come again.
Awesome Restaurant for lunch!
Great location with the beautiful gardens.
The restaurant was full probably due to the matinee performance of Cinderella that afternoon. It seemed the waitress could hardly keep up. The service was extremely slow. We got our food at least an hour after we arrived. The menu is not exciting. The food was ok. They were out of roasted red pepper soup and offered couliflour soup which was it great. The cheesecake was excellent though. The park setting is lovely.
There were flies at our food during our whole meal. The gluten free bread was less than appetizing. I would not return. Thank you for the opportunity to express my thoughts.
The food was good although we had to wait quite a bit for it. But the customer service was great as we didn’t even complain about the food being slow at all and the server just automatically apologized for being slow. They also gave us 40% off the bill. I would def try it again.
The location is nice, and our server was doing her best. However, it took over 1 hour for our food to come from the time we ordered it, and it wasn't hot when we got it.
They offered us a coffee to go, as a "sorry for the wait", however we couldn't take that into the theatre for the show we were seeing immediately after. Food was average, felt "reheated" and lacked flavour.
Probably a good spot to sit and have a snack, drink and enjoy the view.
My group went for lunch for a friends birthday. We could not have asked for a better experience. The food was very good, the setting was wonderful and our server was more than we could have asked for.
Thank you for making our afternoon wonderful.
Lovely setting. We were served promptly and length of time for food to arrive was good. Vegetable flatbread was excellent. Entries okay. Child's meal was cold-no attempt to heat meatballs and sauce. Bill was adjusted. Will give it another try. Maybe breakfast or lunch.
While I still like the restaurant it self. I'm hesitant to return. I would recommend the restaurant as its in a gorgeous setting and the menu is good. But this experience alone where it took over 30min for our coffee and the kids drinks to come. We actually got our food before the drinks. And the kids food was cold. But at that point they were hungry so they ate it. We didn't see our server very much, although in the end she did try to make it up to us by comping some of our bill. Still, 30 min for coffee to be brought over is beyond ridiculous. And we weren't the only ones left with a sour taste in the long wait.
A beautiful place. A nice quiet gem. I found that my Bacon was only warm, and my eggs were
overdone. But, will give you another chance.
We were a little disappointed that the menu had changed since our last visit near the end of July. We both had our heart set on the Berkshire Pork Chops. We did have the Pork Tenderloin which my husband said the chops were 100 times better. Our friends had Bison Stew and Artic Char which they said was delish. Keep up it up Prairie Edge we will be back to our new go to restaurant.
Happily got a table outside in the shade (1 left was held for me until all of us had arrived). It took a while till we were able to order & then be served. My sandwich was pretty boring. My friend was disappointed with the amount & kind of mustard on her sandwich.
My other friend was accommodated in her request. Nothing spectacular.
Wonderful location by the pond. Quaint patio and excellent food. We enjoyed the ribeye and mussels but the burger was mediocre.
I would recommend it but with caveat that the food quality is uneven. Sometimes it is excellent and other times overlooked and not well seasoned
Location and ambiance were nice. Food was not good, was disappointed. The menu is an authentic Prairie options that live up to its name. It was very busy cause it was prior to Rainbow Stage show. Service was good, waitress was courteous. Bathroom was not clean. If I was to go here again, it may be only for breakfast cause how can u go wrong with breakfast. May or may not try this restaurant again.
Love the location
Was a very good experience. Food and service were excellent. Very nice. surroundings.
Overall, it was very good. However, I was looking forward to having a pasta dish that I enjoyed there last year. It has been dropped from the menu though, and I settled for the veggie pasta which was good, but not nearly as enjoyable.
We had a nice Sunday Brunch. I think we all enjoyed our meals. The veggie flatbread was very good and my husbands reuben sandwich was delicious as well. The portions were ample.
One complaint we had was the noise level. There were a few larger parties which made it very noisy and difficult to have conversation.
Another comment I have is the exterior from the parking lot was a little uninteresting for a park setting.
We both had the corned beef and found it chewy with too much fat
Service is always great
Sitting outside was lovely
An excellent, aesthetically pleasing restaurant with a wonderfully scenic view of Kildonan Park. Our server, Jeremy, is an A1 professional & made our dining experience there a completely satisfying & pleasurable experience ☺️
The setting is lovely, but we found the food mediocre. Service was good. Dessert portions more suitable for sharing, we wish we’d been told.
The food was awesome. Service was great. Our server was
Kevin and bd was great. My issue was with ‘open table’ the website would not let me modify the number of guest I was reserving for. I had to call the restaurant myself.
Never heard of this place, found it looking on google for places to eat, overall the food was good and the ambiance was quiet. It was not OMG I need to have this food again, but just normal higher end food. I had the poached fish special, my wife had the brisket (really good) our company had the pickerel and she had the chicken (really dry, the black olive tapenade was on the side as ordered). I would go back as it was quiet and a nice restaurant overall.
