The location is nice, and our server was doing her best. However, it took over 1 hour for our food to come from the time we ordered it, and it wasn't hot when we got it.
They offered us a coffee to go, as a "sorry for the wait", however we couldn't take that into the theatre for the show we were seeing immediately after. Food was average, felt "reheated" and lacked flavour.
Probably a good spot to sit and have a snack, drink and enjoy the view.
My group went for lunch for a friends birthday. We could not have asked for a better experience. The food was very good, the setting was wonderful and our server was more than we could have asked for.
Thank you for making our afternoon wonderful.
Lovely setting. We were served promptly and length of time for food to arrive was good. Vegetable flatbread was excellent. Entries okay. Child's meal was cold-no attempt to heat meatballs and sauce. Bill was adjusted. Will give it another try. Maybe breakfast or lunch.
While I still like the restaurant it self. I'm hesitant to return. I would recommend the restaurant as its in a gorgeous setting and the menu is good. But this experience alone where it took over 30min for our coffee and the kids drinks to come. We actually got our food before the drinks. And the kids food was cold. But at that point they were hungry so they ate it. We didn't see our server very much, although in the end she did try to make it up to us by comping some of our bill. Still, 30 min for coffee to be brought over is beyond ridiculous. And we weren't the only ones left with a sour taste in the long wait.
A beautiful place. A nice quiet gem. I found that my Bacon was only warm, and my eggs were
overdone. But, will give you another chance.
We were a little disappointed that the menu had changed since our last visit near the end of July. We both had our heart set on the Berkshire Pork Chops. We did have the Pork Tenderloin which my husband said the chops were 100 times better. Our friends had Bison Stew and Artic Char which they said was delish. Keep up it up Prairie Edge we will be back to our new go to restaurant.
Happily got a table outside in the shade (1 left was held for me until all of us had arrived). It took a while till we were able to order & then be served. My sandwich was pretty boring. My friend was disappointed with the amount & kind of mustard on her sandwich.
My other friend was accommodated in her request. Nothing spectacular.
Wonderful location by the pond. Quaint patio and excellent food. We enjoyed the ribeye and mussels but the burger was mediocre.
I would recommend it but with caveat that the food quality is uneven. Sometimes it is excellent and other times overlooked and not well seasoned
Location and ambiance were nice. Food was not good, was disappointed. The menu is an authentic Prairie options that live up to its name. It was very busy cause it was prior to Rainbow Stage show. Service was good, waitress was courteous. Bathroom was not clean. If I was to go here again, it may be only for breakfast cause how can u go wrong with breakfast. May or may not try this restaurant again.
Love the location
Was a very good experience. Food and service were excellent. Very nice. surroundings.
We had a nice Sunday Brunch. I think we all enjoyed our meals. The veggie flatbread was very good and my husbands reuben sandwich was delicious as well. The portions were ample.
One complaint we had was the noise level. There were a few larger parties which made it very noisy and difficult to have conversation.
Another comment I have is the exterior from the parking lot was a little uninteresting for a park setting.
We both had the corned beef and found it chewy with too much fat
Service is always great
Sitting outside was lovely
An excellent, aesthetically pleasing restaurant with a wonderfully scenic view of Kildonan Park. Our server, Jeremy, is an A1 professional & made our dining experience there a completely satisfying & pleasurable experience ☺️
The setting is lovely, but we found the food mediocre. Service was good. Dessert portions more suitable for sharing, we wish we’d been told.
The food was awesome. Service was great. Our server was
Kevin and bd was great. My issue was with ‘open table’ the website would not let me modify the number of guest I was reserving for. I had to call the restaurant myself.
Never heard of this place, found it looking on google for places to eat, overall the food was good and the ambiance was quiet. It was not OMG I need to have this food again, but just normal higher end food. I had the poached fish special, my wife had the brisket (really good) our company had the pickerel and she had the chicken (really dry, the black olive tapenade was on the side as ordered). I would go back as it was quiet and a nice restaurant overall.
Good menu - novel selections - well prepared. Wonderful view from the windows - courteous and obliging staff.
Always a delight to dine here.
Very pleasant morning. First time there and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with my wife. I wouldn't recommend it if you were in a real hurry. Nice atmosphere, casual but well above fast food. Not too busy but I've never been there for evening meals. Reasonable prices I thought.
I love the place and our waitress was lovely
The service needs help as it took 45 minutes to get our meal. We weren’t in a rush but one of our guests had to get back to work
The waitress picked up on the fact that one of us had a birthday and very sweetly brought her a dessert, plus an extra dessert for the rest of us to share!!
Gorgeous scenery on the patio. Food was not fast but everything was unexpectedly delicious. Excellent overall experience.
Always a pleasure to dine at Prairie's Edge. We enjoyed celebrating my cousins birthday.
I went for the “Devilled Egg Salad”...sounded like it would be so good. Not the case, dry bread, to much lettuce and the egg salad itself was very sparse and tasteless...do not recommend! The views are wonderful, the restaurant inviting and wait staff great. They did take this off the bill (thanks to our waitress)...but I would have rather left full and happy!
On line menu different than in restaurant. Food was amazing and valye for the price. Sangria was ok had better. No blender so Bellinii was on the rocks, really a disappointment. Our waiter knew his stuff being very helpful.
Wonderful experience! It's a beautiful restaurant with excellent views. Nice to see the outdoor tables. Food was very tasty and was not expensive!
Great place in North winnipeg to go for breakfast, brunch or dinner. Wonderful atmosphere.
Overall we enjoyed it. A couple complaints. They ran out of something so two of our guests couldn’t have what they wanted and the sangria for a glass was $9. Not worth it.
Ordered the Reuben Sandwich and there was very little sauerkraut. It was also dry with almost know Russian dressing. Also the meat was a little over cooked.
4 of us went for dinner on Saturday night and we all were pleasantly surprised how good everything was. Our waiter was superb! The food was excellent.
My only criticism for the restaurant is they need to wash their windows! It’s such a nice view so seeing it clearly would be great
Beautiful views of the park out the windows. Food was delicious.
Excellent food, never disappointed!
Beet fritters were under cooked (insides were overly soft). My battered pickerel was mostly batter especially one of the pieces of pickerel (mostly crispy batter rather than pickerel). The bread pudding was excellent!
We were disappointed by the Arctic Char which was not moist, a little dry. Beet fritters were the best part of the meal.
Irish coffee that we ordered did not come as described, there was no whipped cream on top. The banana tart was rather disappointing!!
Service was very good but lots of flies and pesky other flying things in the restaurant partly because they had an outside door propped open. If we wanted to eat with nature buzzing around we would have eaten on the patio.
To start off this experience, we were contacted 3 hours prior to our reservation, which had been made five days previously. They wanted to know if we could change our seating time however, that wasn't possible. As a patron, it really didn't feel right to be asked to change our plans to accommodate their overbooking and/or attempt at stuffing in even more people. In hindsight, it is exactly what happened anyway. We were seated on time but often ignored while servers tried to accommodate those attending the Rainbow Stage performance. We were extremely understanding and anticipated the food making up for everything. Not the case. Two members of our table ordered BBQ ribs which were dry and to say overcooked would be an understatement. One member ordered the Berkshire pork chop - it too was dry and way over cooked. So shameful. One member had the seafood pasta. The arctic char which according to the menu, in this dish but extremely hard to find and could have sworn salmon was included which shouldn't have been. It was an extremely busy night, so server was busy....so busy in fact, that she kept spilling water all over the place when trying to quickly fill water glasses and get the heck away from our table before we could request anything. Would not recommend wasting your money on expensive, over cooked, non special meals.
The place was packed and our server really rushed us through our meal selection and drink choice. He rushed to remove dishes and even handled some cutlery that was to remain at our table. He also did not reduce our dessert price! The meal for the most part was very good, one meal arrived luke warm, disappointing. The noise level was very high, to the point that conversation was almost impossible. Not much ambiance. We will probably give it another try.
Setting is beautiful but our main course was cold and service was slow. Appetizers and venu are excellent.
This is one of my most favourite restaurants to go to for a special meal. The service is top notch and the food is always fantastic.
It was extremely busy but considering that the service was not too bad even though they were run off their feet. The food was well presented and tasty, however the meat dishes were not hot. The soup was hot and tasty and the Seafood pasta was hot and very tasty but didn't have very much seafood. Bread pudding dessert was very good. Aside from temperature and lack of seafood we enjoyed our supper.
