Chef was handsome, food was even better
we treated friends for dinner. They have been several times,I have as well but only for lunch. We all enjoyed our dinners and It was my hubbys first visit. our server was Beta and she was awesome that girl moves like a house on fire Wow what energy she has BRAVO great job Beta. So nice to have a great place in a lovely setting and not having to pay for parking or go downtown. Definitely coming back 🥰
We arrived in time for our reservation, but somehow the system had us recorded as already being seated. Unfortunately, this meant that, although we had indicated on the reservation that it was a special occasion, it was not recognized, but it wasn’t something worth complaining about. We were still seated quickly, as the restaurant was extremely quiet (I suspect due to the current health fears plaguing the globe). The server took our orders as soon as we were ready, and the food and beverages arrived in record time. I had the pickerel and chips, my fiancé had the bison smash burger. The entree’s were very good, but neither of us were a fan of the sides (fries and coleslaw with the pickerel, just fries with the burger). We did, however, decide to split a dessert, selecting the chocolate bourbon cheesecake which was absolutely fantastic. I would go to this restaurant again, just for the dessert!
Brunch was delicious and as always a pleasure to dine at the Edge.
Disappointed that there was no attic char or brisket available!
Also your website indicated that you had calamari for appetizer. Our server indicated calamari had not been available for 2 years. You might want to update your website.
The server we had was excellent -- personable, pleasant and very attentive!
The whole experience was nothing but positive.
Excellent food and service. Setting is also very very nice all by itself in the park.
The lamb shank was wonderful with two succsucculent meaty bones that were large enough to even be able to enjoy some marrow and were served on a healthy bed of tasty charred Brussel sprouts. While not a menu regular (yet) the lemon merengue tart was delicious in a light flaky pastry with beautifully tangy custard. The thin bed of carmalized brown suga8r under the pastry add a unique contrast to the citrusy tartness of the custard.
My wife and I both grew up in West Kildonan and really enjoy visiting KP, and especially enjoy Prairie's Edge. We were in a bit of a rush this visit, and staff were attentive, food was delicious, and we were out in plenty of time. 5 Stars!!!
My only every so tiny nit pick: some of the finishes/ colour palette are dated.
(Carpet tiles/ maroon room dividers/ unpainted ceiling tile). It would be so easy to make this classic mid-century a beauty with a less muddy palette and some finish upgrades.
Excellent food. Great menu selection. A favourite for sure! Summer on the patio. Winter indoors by the fire. Nice ambience. Highly recommended.
Able to reserve online and get a corner table as requested
Server was friendly, knowledgeable, polite, attentive, sensitive to dietary concerns
Food presentation was good. Some thought their food too salty. The amount was good
Lovely restaurant, great selection on the menu. View of the park beautiful. Good parking & easy access.
We had a lovely lunch. Great service and food. We were not hurried to finish our meals.
The restaurant was very busy and so the noise level was very high. It would be a better idea to go at a less hectic time.
Disappointed. Our lunch meal wasn't up to par. The prime rib steak melt was pieces of rib steak this time. Not a larger single piece as our last visit & wasn't as tasty either, something was lacking.
My reuben sandwich was a big disappointment, corned beef was thickly cut & dry along the edge. It was hard to bite through & tough to chew.
These people are AWESOME!!!
We always feel special coming here!
We had a table overlooking the skating pond. Our server was very professional and friendly. The food was tasty. Loved the grilled cheese sandwich. It was moist and had caramel used onions and peppers in it.
Very nice place. Always visit when I'm in Winnipeg!
Absolutely love the food and ambiance. I gave service, a 3 star, because 2 of us, (1 being a child), had to wait 10 mins longer, for our food after everyone at our table had already received their meal.
The setting is great, the food was good. Was able to have a nice visit with a friend without feeling rushed. Then enjoyed a leisurely stroll in the park.
Good food nice ambience. Great service.
There is a wide range of choices of meals to pick from to help the diner make the best choice suited to her palate and appetite.
The waitress remembered me from previous visits and was very friendly and prompt with our order. It was quiet and sunny, perfect for a good visit with a friend. We split a dish and they served it on separate plates.
The service was prompt and our waitress friendly and efficient. The food was great.
Lamb dish was superb! Nice atmosphere and great staff.
Great food. Ambiance with a view. Server Jeremy was fantastic!!
Excellent server, but restaurant was under staffed. The service was slow. The risotto was runny and bland, but the beet fritters were to die-for.
Wonderful restaurant, great food and service is very attentive service.
Although the menu for the time we were there was for a "Brunch", we had mistakenly thought that we could order from the "Lunch" menu (we hadn't seen the specific times each were available on a Saturday), and we had our mouths and hearts set on an item only offered on the Lunch menu. Our server asked the kitchen if it might be possible to bring us what we desired, and the kitchen said "yes". Bravo. The meal was delicious, the ambiance superb and we were extremely grateful. Five stars!
The Valentines Day menu was too limited. Too many ingredients that were not well know unless you were a connoisseur.
I can't speak to the full menu as they had a special Valentine's Day menu. 4 options apiece for appetizers and main course. I had the pickerel cheeks and the lobster gnocchi. Both were very delicious (pickerel was tiny portions but worth it) but unfortunately I have to deduct a star as there was a sharp bone fragment in my pickerel and a sharp piece of lobster carapace in my gnocchi. For dessert there was only one option, the crème brûlée cheesecake, but it came with a bit of rhubarb mousse and poppyseed milk crumble and was delicious! The service was some of the best we've ever had and we found some very good cocktails on the menu as well. We would definitely eat here again.
The food was superb and the service excellent. Our server, Beata, did a great job. Because it was Valentine's Day there was a set menu and I was a little disappointed. It was our first time there so I had studied their menu on line and was looking forward to a particular dish which was not on the set menu. The food offered was, as I said, superb but I wish the website had indicated a special Valentines Day menu. If that had been the case we would have picked a different day. All in all, a great evening.
We were not advised upon confirmation of our reservation by telephone that it would be only a special limited menu being offered for Valentine's night supper. Also, there was a water glass which shattered at our table by simply falling over, and the other one had a wobbly bottom and wobbled when the server filled it.
Always a pleasure to dine at Prairie's Edge. Looking forward to our next booking.
The people at the Edge are always pleasant and make you feel welcomed.
Keep it up!
We were somewhat disappointed in our last visit to Prairie's Edge. My wifes pasta was undercooked and my french fries were greasy. My cole slaw was not tasty at all. The service was fairly good.
Went for the Prime Rib special on Saturday’s- it was ok but not nearly as good as The Keg’s prime rib. It was a little bit chewy & did not come with a choice of accompaniments. Would stick to the Beef Brisket next time.
We love the atmosphere. The setting is beautiful. Service great and friendly. Food awesome.
I have told so many people about Prairie Edge. Love the idea of quiet music on Thurs. night.
Our experience at Prairie's Edge was first-rate. . .food excellent, service by Taylor very good and the surroundings quite pleasant. One disappointment, one of the entrees "Pork Tenderloin" which appears on the online menu and which I had very much enjoyed previously had been removed. . . online menu needs updating.
