We enjoyed our meal at Prairie’s edge! It’s my birthday and I am glad that my family loved their ordered meal. My niece really like the beef brisket. Our server is very nice and attentive. And I was surprised by the GC they gave me. I was like how they did know its my Birthday and then I remember I indicated it on my reservation lol Overall, the place is great and the food is very satisfying.
Always have a good time with great service. I love that you can make a reservation and request a view of the duck pond. Thank you Prairies Edge, you are my go to for all special occasions, meetups and business dinners
First time at Prairie's Edge, and was not at all disappointed. The breads offered as a starter with oil/vinegar dip were so tasty and fresh, and our pasta entrees were wonderful: we ordered Smoked Wild Boar with a tomato sauce and Smoked Goldeye with a creamy garlic sauce and capers. The portions were just the right size, leaving room for coffee and dessert; my bread pudding was as good as any I've tasted, served with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.
Our server was very efficient and pleasant; seeing that we were there to have a meal and a visit, she did not rush us at all, but at the same time was ready when we were to take our orders.
Only a couple of things, that reflect personal choices and might not be negatives to other--or even most--diners. First, yet another Winnipeg restaurant that responds to an order for a glass of Coke with a question: "Pepsi okay"--my friend's answer was "no it isn't"--and having once upon a time won the Pepsi challenge, I knew what she meant.... there is a difference.
Second, ordered lemon and ice for our water, received a dish of lemon wedges, but never saw another ice cube after that even though our water was constantly replenished.
Overall neither of these little glitches made any difference to our dining experience.... good food, good service, and a lovely view of the pond and the park beyond, with ducks and flowers to add to the ambiance. Definitely will be a go-to place in the future.
Enjoy our brunch, food and atmosphere was great. Nice spot in the park, easy to find and lots of parking.
The food and service was great. Went there for an anniversary and they were able to plate & serve the cake that we brought also. Food was a good portion, with different flavors. One thing that got a bit annoying was there were flies that were always hanging around. Understandably we are in a park, but just wished there was a way to keep them away from the restaurant.
Nice spot for breakfast. We were a little surprised by the small portions considering the price, but certainly enjoyed the Edge's version of Eggs Benedict. We will be back to try them out for dinner, not likely during theatre season though.
Food and service were both amazing! We enjoyed our 40th Anniversary evening out with a lovely walk in the park after a great meal.
Our waiter Jeremy even though was new to the restaurant was funny and personalable. The only fine dinning restaurant at the North end of the city . But is worth checking out .
Did not receive appetizers for nearly 40 minutes and main course until 14 min before we needed to leave for the Rainbow stage show. The server gave us 1 piece of cheesecake for our trouble. However it was a very warm evening so we could not leave it in the car or take it with us into the show. She did not seem to understand this and did not offer another compensation for our discomforting dinner service. The kitchen was not able to handle a full house of patrons going to Rainbow stage even after assuring us that a reservation 1hour 45 min before curtain time would be sufficient.
This was our second visit to Prairie's Edge and will probably be our last. Our server and dessert were great, however, that was about it. We had to wait over 45 minutes for our main course and when it arrived, we were quite disappointed. The ribs were over cooked and tasteless and only a few vegetables on the side - not worth the money spent.
Found the restaurant disorganized and the food mediocre.
Soup was not hot And appeared to be. Watered. Down. My salad had way too much dressing
Wonderful place to go for a bite before heading over to Rainbow Stage. I have been twice this year and not at all disappointed with either the food or the service. Do try the hummus and flat bread....very yummy!
Service was great - we had a very attentive server who was knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu and made an effort to find a sub that was "gluten-free friendly". The Seared Arctic Char Salad I ordered was supposed to come with potato latkes (which are made with wheat flour at this restaurant) - and were subbed out for GF toast. Perhaps the latkes make the dish - because I was underwhelmed with the salad as it was served. The seared char was excellent, but it was served on a "bed" of arugula that was literally about 10 leaves. Didn't look like much of a salad . . . . . . I left hungry.
Cup of beef and vegetable soup I also ordered was good, but not great. For this meal at least, I didn't experience the quality I've come to expect from WOW Hospitality owned restaurants.
We had lunch here and enjoyed it very much. We just had salad with a chicken breast on the side as we are trying to eat healthy. It was perfect!
It is very convenient for pre- Rainbow Stage. We enjoyed our meals. I would, however like to see some different menu items. The staff are very friendly and efficient.
Leaning heavily on their location. prices are too high. I’d go for drinks only next time.
We went here for our fifth anniversary. We were not disappointed, the serves was great, the food was quick and delicious.
Portions are too small for the price .
$24 for a piece of fish some carrots and one cauliflower is too much
Patio was covered in clutter . Chairs stacked up everywhere
We went for dinner before Rainbow Stage, food and service was amazing. Generous portions and good service. Definitely will come back, nice setting.
I made a reservation for lunch prior to a Rainbow Stage production. Brian contacted me to advise of possible concerns with timing due to their busy schedule for the day. The staff were able to accommodate us & get us to the show in plenty of time! Oh... I didn’t mention the awesome brunch we enjoyed! Well done Prairie’s Edge! We’ll definitely be back!!
Nice atmosphere and good service. Food was good, but pricey for what was ordered.
Highly recommend going out to this restaurant. Food was great, view was amazing. Only thing was we had multiple servers (3) which made it a little confusing but that’s the way the industry works and we understood. Definitely will visit again.
Service was very fast and efficient. Food was excellent.
Took friends out for lunch that came from out of province. Enjoyed the food, the server was very
friendly and patience.
We were there before a matinee so it was very busy making it s noisy lunch. Our food the soup and poutine was cold. The kale Caesar salad was very good. The bourbon chocolate cheese cake excellent. I look forward to a return visit.
Wonderful food and service. Our group of 7 were seated quickly and offered coffee snd beverages within 5 minutes of being seated...always a good sign. We ordered 7 different menu items and all were very good but the pickeral cheeks, beet salad and smoked brisket were outstanding. Our special guest from Poland thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Kudos to our server who was really accommodating and made an extra effort for a special request.
Out for dinner with old friends on a Tuesday night. Great table outdoors with a view of the duck pond. Although Rainbow stage was on, couldn't hear it at all during dinner (that's a good thing). Prices reasonable and food was tasty. We stayed past closing, but the staff never pressured us to leave.
Loved eating at the park, and the patio was really great. Food was pretty good, but not great. Price was reasonable. Desert was an unmitigated disaster, but the server did what she could to make it right.
Our server was excellent. Food was hot and prepared well. Pork chops were tasty but a little tough. A good meal.
More than just good food. A very charming experience. Interesting gift shop and petting zoo.
thanks again for a tasty meal and very good service.
Restaurant was great. Open table app not so much.
Too many restrictions on reviews. Do you really want them?
Really enjoyed the meal, service was excellent. Blue breeze cocktail was amazing!
Date night dinner before attending a Rainbow Stage production. Brian and crew provided impeccable effort and service. The bread bowl and salad was fresh and delicious. I thought the Italian sausage pasta dish was tasty however my wife thought her pickerel was so-so. The bread pudding dessert was not a dish I would recommend. The overall ambiance of the venue doesn’t fit the $$
We were going to Rainbow Stage. It made doing that very convenient. The food was pretty good, and the service excellent!
We came to Prairie’s Edge because we were going to Rainbow Stage for the musical. It is very convenient to do both. Everything at Prairie’s Edge was good except for the food. We both thought that the food was only so-so, not tasty! We like the idea of going to dinner then the play but the food would need to be better for us to go to Prairie’s Edge again.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.
We had a good meal, well served in an appropriate time frame from a very pleasant server. We will be back.
Great food and service; a truly enjoyable experience - again. Nice to have an early dinner with friends, and then walk over to Rainbow Stage for a spectacular show. The dining experience was/is a significant part of an exceptional evening event
Good food good service quiet enough for conversation
