we continue to have a good experience dining at Prairie Edge. thanks for your consistent service and good quality.
I have been here several times and the food is always great my friend had the butter chicken poutine and loved it. I had the corned beef sandwich and it was great with the exception of the hot mustard. I asked for just a little and both sides of the bread were smothered with it and in my first bite I almost choked as the mustard made me cough so much. I then had to eat the sandwich open faced as that hot mustard was way too much, the corned beef was great and the fries were delicious. Definitely would have it again but would choose mild mustard.
Great experience! Would recommend it to friends and family.
Wouldn’t recommend for anything approaching fine dining, but a bison burger and a bottled beer still looks good. The chocolate cheesecake and coffee too is great, but so-called Berkshire chops were tough. On previous occasions the dinner meals were found lacking in one way or another; not bad, but disappointing. The atmosphere is clean, but cafeteria style. The outdoor patio looks out upon a greenish still duck pond. Service was fine.
Very nice setting in the park. Not rushed with the meal and did not have to wait long for our meal. Keep up the good work.
Great place, really enjoyed having dinner on the patio! The sangria is very good and staff is friendly. Only thing missing was some music on the patio!
Excellent service and the food was sooooo delicious! The portions were huge! I had the pickerel and was served 3 large pieces. My husband had the pasta and it was equally delicious!
Great service and food nestled within a beautiful park, a destination restaurant not be missed.
Sarah was an exceptional server.
She was very attentive to all of our needs.
She had thorough knowledge of the menu and was able to make suggestions of fine wine pairings.
First time there for all of us in our party of 5.
We’ll definitely be back!
Outside seating on a lovely day was great. Beautiful setting. Waitress Chantel was quick, funny, and very good.
Food was not good at all.
Had the fish & chips. Fish was deep fried (very much extremely well done - actually crunchy) and fries were cold, hard, & dry. Coleslaw looked old and soggy.
Portions were plenty but definitely EXPECTED better from an experienced chef. This meal wasn’t any better than eating a 5 dollar meal in a food court, except that this dish was $22.00.
Out of 8 people, 5 of us ordered this fish dish. One lady didn’t even end up eating her fish at all.
I would recommend this restaurant ONLY to have a cocktail but certainly NOT the food.
Very pleasant. Will go back
We celebrated my mom's 85th birthday and we all had a very good time.
Love the menu, everything is so fresh and portions are perfect. Love the fact that they use local ingredients. A great restaurant for a date. Enjoy an amazing meal and follow up with a stroll in Kildonan Park.
Our food was somewhat disappointing. My German potato salad had no flavour, my friend's steak had too much fat, and her husband felt his burger was not outstanding. The waitress was excellent, and the manager's response to my friend's steak was much appreciated. Your restaurant is a lovely place. More attention needs to be paid to the food. That is what we pay for.
We booked the evening to celebrate my Birthday. Reservation was for 6 pm, we were a bit early and all our food had been served to us by 6:20 or so. Felt very impersonal and rushed. We were on deck outside so perhaps that added to this feeling. Appetizer and dinner were ok, nothing special about it. I had the seafood selection that evening, was not hot and felt like it was pre-preped and heated up. Very bland looking plate presentation.
Felt a bit like a take out restaurant.
we enjoyed our early evening meal with a view to the outdoors. The pickerel fish and chips were excellent. light tempura batter. My friend had beet fritters and found them delicious but very rich. Service was pleasant and helpful.
I really wanted this place to be great, but it wasn’t. Everyone was very friendly, even though we had to ask for cutlery numerous times. The food was the big disappointment. It promised sophistication and flavor, but didn’t provide it. And it was way overpriced. For the amount we spent there we could have had a far better dinner in comparable places in Winnipeg. In particular, the stir fried wild rice was underwhelming: rice and soy sauce for something like $20. The beet fritters were quite nice. I won’t be going again though I am sad about it!
The kale was mostly expired. Waitress never came to refill our water. Several times when I have ordered a salad containing arugula you were out of arugula which seems totally unacceptable for a fine dining establishment run by Wow hospitality. The location is great! So lovely out there on the patio in the summer, and if you could bring the quality of the service and food up a notch, it would be even more attractive!
We will be back!! Really enjoyed the meal and the service was great from start to finish!!
Prime rib, artic char, bison burger, deserts were all quite good. Everything cooked well. Just the right amount of food. Nice setting. A good choice
Is a very nice place for visiting with friends. Nice to Be able to make a reservation. Easy access for everyone. Lots of parking and a nice view and walking paths. The food was very good and lots of choices. We all enjoyed. Also very good service.
We were just starting our appetizers when our waitresses came to our table and informed is that the lady at the next table had paid our bill. Her husband had passed away from ALS and to honour him her goal was to do 100 acts of kindness. This completely blew us away. All the staff here are amazing and so is the food.
French fries were at least twice fried. Green beans tough and chewy.
Service was very good!
Service was friendly and efficient. Patio was lovely, it was a sunny day. Food was good. I found there were enough choices.
It starting getting busy after we were served and our server didn’t skip a beat, looked after us well and managed several new patrons.
I like the culture of the staff very much and have recommended it to many friends.
Really enjoyed our night out with friends. The butter chicken flat bread was amazing! We all had the fish and chips and it was a great choice. Overall food was enjoyed by all. Mac and cheese balls could use some work.
As always the food was tasty and service excellent, a favourite spot for friends and family.
I filled out a card at the restaurant, leaving my review there. The restaurant was overbooked on Saturday and was busy with a bridal shower. So our experience was disappointing.
I took my friend for her birthday. We had brunch and it was really good. We sat on the patio and the geese were very entertaining. Many thanks.
Nice location and building for brunch or a casual lunch, altho' the noise level was quite high at the 12:00 noon time. By the time we left at 1:45, it had quieted down considerably. I would like to take my mom-in-law for lunch but would need a quieter window of time.
Meals were tasty, but not exceptional..........my chicken pesto sandwich had too many mixtures of tastes. Korean spice chicken wings were not a hit with one tablemate, and another did not find any sauerkraut flavor on her Rueben. Fries were excellent and the soup was good as was the Italian sausage pasta dish.
Service was very slow both initially and when a request was made ie water refill / vinegar for fries / change for a $20.00 / container to take food home.
I will return to try other dishes and to bring a guest or two.
A beautiful setting in Kidonan Park. The restaurant’s ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. Nicely done!
Very friendly prompt service and the food was delicious.
When you serve salad that has gone bad and charge 8 bucks for it there is something wrong and then we told them about it and they say a few people told us about it! And never took it off the bill won’t be going back
Food was excellent. Nice setting in the park
Great staff and beautiful view in the park. Went for Mother's day brunch and food was excellent...not too much variety but just enough to please all.
We really enjoyed our meal and service was very good. We enjoyed being able to go for a walk in the park afterwards.
Met friends for lunch. We all enjoyed the food. Service was excellent.
We quite enjoyed the meal. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow. Could have had another server to cover the lunch time. Have been here several times and this was never an issue. Will not deter us from dining here though as we really enjoy it. Thank you!
A great gem! Beautiful location, one can sit in or outside on the patio.
Service awesome and very accommodating.
You will be going back after your first visit.
Meal was excellent and we had a wonderful time however where I was sitting the sun was going down so for most of the night I had the sun glaring at me and no shade blind was on the window to fix this problem.
