I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The ambiance was immaculate, the variety of drinks, and the sharable dishes were stunning. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an intimate or fun twist to a regular drinks night :)

My friend and I came here because we saw how stunning the inside was from a TikTok video. However, it’s only the lobby that looks like that. The bar itself is very well decorated, but a bit on the higher end side for pricing. Both of us also didn’t enjoy our drinks - I might come again to try something else, but I wasn’t wowed.

Its was good but sitting at the bar I guess servers that were coming off shift or from another bar were joking around taking shots and talking about the other servers girlfriends “hot” friends, just weird honestly probably won’t go back drinks were okay.

I had seen the pictures and was curious to see what the hype was about. It's an absolutely gorgeous establishment. The aesthetics do no disappoint. It is worth a visit for this alone. Cocktails were fine, same quality as any other place I've been to. I had the French 75 and there was nothing more spectacular than any other place. We had the 10 g caviar service and the steak tartare. Everything was good, but when they say small bites, they aren't lying. Good for a drink and to experience the visuals, but I wouldn't spend my money on the food again.

The staff and interior are the best part of this spot; food & cocktails read compelling but deliver little substance - definitely nothing special. Tried two signature cocktails - they were fine but I can think of 3 establishments in walking distance that craft a finer final product. I asked for a spicy margarita (my fav) and was told theirs “is excellent”. It was not. My friend asked for a mocktail, and what came out (they don’t have a mocktail menu & patrons are at the mercy of the bartender working) was an uninspired version of an aperol cocktail. Loved the idea of trying a caviar spoon as the price and portion were far more modest than full service. Spoons arrived & we got an exceptional education & big lead up… only to be let down by the overwhelming punch of chive/onion. It tasted like a schmear for a bagel at a casual brunch and totally assaulted our mouths altering the cocktail experience. Cheese pastry balls were fried, warm & rich, but the portion felt too big though for 2 (for a ‘small plate’ there were at least 8 balls when one person probably only wants one or two). No complaints about the fried chicken; it was fine (but forgettable). We were most excited for the lobster roll but it was underwhelming - the meat wasn’t sweet & succulent and profile of the roll was too acidic and not enough richness. The beef tartare was the most well-composed dish of the evening, presented beautifully on two narrow toast ‘fingers’, with an exceptionally well-balanced mix of acidic, creamy, rich, smooth and briny bites. If you’re looking for something a bit different and slightly performative - the prohibition aspect is cute (but doesn’t save it from the overhyped and underwhelming food & drink) - this might be worth popping in for one drink and a small snack. Though any feelings of FOMO would be misplaced on this joint. The crowed is a bit of a mixed bag; it seems like an ideal establishment to bring someone you don’t want your husband or wife to know you’re out with.

Drinks and atmosphere were excellent, but seems like they were understaffed. We waited about 30 min with empty glasses before our server returned to take the orders for our second drinks. We also had a couple of dirty/sticky glasses. Definitely not the service I would expect from the BarChef team. Would have totally had another 1-2 drinks each if the service had been faster.

Such a wonderful night in this wholly unique cocktail bar. We love the atmosphere of the place. Felt like an early 1900s speakeasy. The cocktails are superb; rich and complex which show the craftsmanship that go into them. The food menu offers small plates which compliment the beverages nicely. Delicious and paired so well. The staff is classy and professional while being warm and inviting. We will definitely be back and will bring friends with us to savour this exceptional establishment.

The place is truly gorgeous and the drinks are outstanding. It would have been 5 stars except it's a bit process-heavy- the line-up and entry process made for a bit of a wait even with reservations (though they comped us a mini drink for an unusually long wait), and there seemed to be some confusion around getting us the bill at the end. But it's still more than worth a visit!

Great backroom, old school feeling atmosphere. Tasty cocktails among an assortment of spirits, wines, and beers with a good selection of appetizers and shareables. Lots of different drinks to try. Service was excellent as well! The menu however could be printed in a bigger font for how dim the lighting is inside, but that's a minor gripe. Great place to visit with a small group or even as a couple as we did for our anniversary.

This is a beautiful location, great ambiance and great service. The reason I didn’t give this place a five star rating was because I thought the food could have been better quality. The escargot was on the dry side, the butternut squash salad was very bland definitely not worth the price. The fries were really good get the parmigian on it. The lobster roll was good but extremely tiny. I don’t think it was good value but the place is beautiful and is a great date night spot if you’re just going to have drinks and some fries.

Our service was so slow. It took over 30 minutes to receive a bottle of wine and we were discouraged from ordering a second due to the 2 hour time limit. Food arrived as it was ready but our server brought complimentary birthday dessert before everything had arrived. Experience felt rushed and our server was inattentive and slow.

An experience to be sure, the food was very good and portions were fair (for a fancy joint like this) but it is a pricy place. The Lobster Roll and Steak Tar Tar were possibly the best I've ever had. Drinks were exciting.

Great space and decor, friendly staff and attentive servers. Drinks took too long, each time we ordered. We had the gougères which were delicious. We also had the escargots which were served with a little puff pastry top and were seasoned nicely. The seared foie gras was was a little bland and perhaps a bit on the small side for the price. The biggest let down was the caviar served with chips. A side of blinis would have elevated the dish and been a more traditional vessel. Caviar also would benefit from a little squeeze of lemon, which was missing. Overall the experience was great. I even marked that this was an anniversary celebration and we were offered complimentary shot, which was a lovely gesture. I would definitely return and would ask to sit at the bar and watch the bartenders make those delicious cocktails.

The entrance is charming, and it was my favorite part, even though I couldn't explore it in great detail. The bar is relatively spacious for what's typically labeled a "bar" and feels more like a lounge. While the bar area itself isn't massive, there are plenty of tables and seating. The downside is that it's challenging to see the bartenders at work unless you're sitting at the bar. In essence, it gives off more of a lounge vibe. On a positive note, there was no music, which allowed for easy conversation – a definite plus. The dim lighting, however, seemed more fitting for cozier bars and gave this larger establishment an "escape room" feel. I'd suggest bringing portable lights to the tables for menu reading and drink presentation, especially for those who enjoy taking photos. I've seen some bars do this, and it worked well in my experience. The bathroom was clean and pleasant. Service: This upscale bar was a bit unusual in that they didn't serve any olives or complimentary bar snacks, a common practice in most classic-style bars. Another minor annoyance was the absence of coasters. When our drinks were served, the server neglected to provide coasters or napkins, resulting in unsightly glass rings on the table. The service lacked a professional touch as the server didn't individually deliver drinks to each guest but rather expected us to reach for them. Drinks: We ordered French 75 and The Last Word (an off-menu item). The French 75 was okay. The Last Word was a bit off, as it turned out to be missing Maraschino liqueur. In a top-tier bar, one would expect the ability to craft off-menu drinks, and if certain ingredients are unavailable, clear communication or suggesting an alternative is key. After all, the essence of a cocktail bar is the interaction and engagement with the bartender(s). The other drinks, particularly the modern and unique creations like La Vie En Rose was very good.

Really disappointed. Social media makes this looks like a gem but there is a reason you are not permitted to view the bar ! There is nothing beyond the entrance that is even remotely exciting.

Disappointed sadly. Spent less than 3 minutes in the Apothecary which is beautiful. The dining area is nice, but once they changed the great music from the 20s and 30s, the ambiance changed with poor hair salon type tunes. As the place filled up the noise was very loud. The server seemed uneducated and a tad snooty and dismissive. The food was good but too expensive for what it was. Drinks are nice but not mind blowing.

I didnt expect good food but definitely didn’t expect terrible food. And unfortunately most of the drinks were no better. The place is advertised as a sister brand to barchef which is an absolute insult to the quality and excellence of bar chef. Ridiculous prices for below average cocktails .
