Disappointing meal. Steak was tasteless and ambiance is non existing! Looked out into the parking lot at our car! Need a good sound track for the background and some more options on the menu. Wouldn’t go back

First time at this restaurant. Cute little place, great service. One small issue, we asked for bread with our Moules Frites to soak up the great sauce (bread typically is included with this meal for this reason). They charged us $7.00 for the bread. Any other restaurant we go to (Teatro, Alloy, Luca, Cassis) never charge for bread. Just thought it was odd. Don’t like being nickeled and dimed on top of an already spendy meal. Won’t be back.

First, I am not one of those, you know, one in a hundred that finds a reason to complain about anything. Let’s get that out of the way. But, if you give this place a try, just avoid the “steak au poivre”. This was certainly not the AAA Alberta Beef that I know and love. Most likely a frozen, wholesale, select grade cut. After discarding three half chewed bubble gum like pieces to my napkin, it was time to have a chat with the Waiter. Respectfully, he took care of the entree only. It was just horrible. Although the coquilles st. jacques from the “ Les Plats Premiers” Lol was at least acceptable, but nothing more. With options such as Japanese Flying Squid, carre de porc a la choucpoute (whatever), and lobster spaghetti, how can providing a simple steak be challenging. Your basic Pub can usually do a great job. Go figure. On a Saturday night, the place was not even half full. Think I know why.

We visited Purlieu for our 17 year anniversary on November 17th. We didn't even know this place existed until past week when we found it on Open Table! We were definitely not disappointed!! The menu is incredibly well thought out. The food was fresh and very delicious. I had the scallops to start, and then lobster spaghetti. My husband had the puff pastry brie, and then the peppercorn steak. Everything tasted sooo good. We shared a creme brule for dessert, but we wished we'd gotten one each, it was so heavenly. Service was impeccable! We will definitely be back!

Thank you for the kind words! Our floors and ceiling have noise reducing materials and we have sound deadening drapes up, but sometimes people are just too animated and excited on the weekend! We are looking at adding more though...

A culinary gem! Inventive pairings, wonderful flavors and quality ingredients…make this a dining pleasure. The front of house staff are exceptional, ensuring a positive experience. Their focus is on ensuring diners are enjoying their experience rather then the need for table turns.

Our dinner was so delicious and Yves, the front of house was attentive and thoughtful. We love dining at Purlieu. It's intimate, music just at the right level so you can have proper conversations, and a special welcoming neighbourhood restaurant.

Sadly we did not end up having dinner at Purlieu. When we arrived the menu had been significantly changed from our last three visits. There was nothing that appealed, so we had one quick drink and had dinner elsewhere. Hoping they will bring some of the old menu back (note it was still the old menu that was shown on their website).

I’ve lived in the neighborhood and have just discovered this gem. Service was attentive and the food fabulous. Loved it so much I’m returning next week. Just a note, they change their menu frequently and the menu posted through open table may not be current but it will be similar.

This is one of our favourite places to dine. Menu is good, lots of choices. Last night they were very busy. I had the special baked cod. Very nice! My husband had the steak which was quite small and was not hot when brought to the table. Was an off night.

I had high hopes for this restaurant with such amazing reviews but I was left feeling very disappointed in the meal last night. Very small portions for an expensive price, under seasoned and poorly cooked duck. Veggies were overcooked and under seasoned. The pork belly skin was so overcooked and hard that it couldn't be cut with a knife. I expected a lot more from a high end French restaurant and sadly won't be back.

The very definition of hidden gem. Nestled into a small strip mall, deep in the heart of Oakridge. Service was excellent as were the beverages. Food was delightful and well thought out. Obviously someone with a love of food and presentation in the kitchen. Prices were high but that came with high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Date night success.

This has always been a lovely restaurant so we were disappointed in the food. Presentation was excellent. Wine was delicious. However all of us thought our meals lacked seasoning. I had the market fish and it was cold. In hindsight, I should have returned it. We will try again, but for the prices we were disappointed

You have changed the muscles. I loved the way they were presented last time (last October) - they were piled high and the frites were on top. It was spectacular and classy. Now with the wide plate the muscles cool off quicker and the fries on the side brought the whole presentation down a notch, I thought. Wasn’t a wow presentation.

Have always enjoyed this restaurant. Took another couple this time. Shared the flying squid and the prawn cocktail. Both were excellent. Our entrees were also good. Steak prepared to order, fresh halibut, and the Brie in puff pastry. All excellent. No room for dessert. Thankyou for a lovely evening!

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were there early so very quiet and intimate at a lovely table. As more arrived it did get noisier, but not to distraction. We will return.
