   We were expecting something more, something better. It was our Easter dinner and it should have been special. I did not want to sit at the table nearest the bar as the music was loud. We were offered a table near the serving doors which was much quieter but not very special as it was a place of movement for staff. All meals were underwhelming. The risotto, without much flavour, the roast beef with meat that was almost too rare to enjoy. Normally, I would expect to be asked how I wanted my meat and be offered a choice from the outside end of if I preferred a medium selection. Staff was preoccupied, however, it was Easter and they were busy. Having just eaten at Pluvio Restaurant in Ucluelet the night before where the service was personable and each course outstanding, this was a disappointment. We will not be back.

   Excellent dishes and cocktails (Bengal Sour, have a couple), marinated shrimp appetizer a winner and not what one might expect, main dish venison and braised red cabbage superb flavours and very healthy (for us, not the venison…), dessert poached pear’s sorbet was so good it could be served in a bowl all by itself. Full marks to the chef and kitchen! Topnotch service, not too much of the annoying ‘how are your first bites?’ nonsense seen in eateries these days. My wife’s and my only complaint was the noise level, with the wood floor and a number of young children pacing around while their parents ignored them (for which we can only blame the parents), dear management please a) bring back the carpeted dining room concept and b) empower your staff to address those parents-We understand you don’t want to offend them but in not doing so, you're offending the silent majority of your diners who have chosen your room for a special dining experience.

   Prime Rib on Sundays is the best we've ever had. We purposely made a special trip to Victoria for this reason.

   The musician was terrific his sound system was terrible and reverberated in the large room. So instead of it being pleasant it was loud and we had to speak over it.

   60th Birthday Reservation. Prime Rib dinner on a Sunday night, outstanding service and food. Our waiter Andrew was extremely well versed in all areas of food and wine. Everyone involved in making this night possible for this old man was amazing. Everything was amazing.

    The food tastes good, but the portions are small depending on what you order, and overall, the experience feels overpriced for what you get. The service is nice, and the staff is friendly. The space is very dark, and if you're seated at the back of the restaurant, it's even darker. The restaurant lacks soul, which makes the whole experience unsatisfactory. It's also noisy, with sounds from the bar and lobby hallway, and it feels like you're dining in the hallway. The washrooms were disappointing – dirty and more like public restrooms than you'd expect from a hotel of this level. As for the wine selection, most of the wines by the glass are from BC, but unfortunately, the quality didn’t match expectations.
