Quality Foods Market offers a unique culinary experience, featuring authentic Italian cuisine, in a relaxed, elevated casual, and intimate atmosphere. Enjoy a seasonally changing, from scratch menu, featuring both classic and modern pastas; hand cut steaks from USDA Certified Premium Hereford Heritage 1881 Beef; New Zealand Lamb Chops; USDA Certified Prime Veal; and the freshest seafood available, flown in from around the world throughout the week. In addition, Quality Foods Market offers a curated wine list with selections from all over the world, and an unrivaled craft and imported beer selection. Executive Chef Christopher Houp takes the time to interact with each and every guest throughout the dining experience, taking the Chef's Table concept to a whole new level. Tables are limited, with just 16 seats inside, and an additional 16 seats for al fresco dining. Our guests are treated to a true Italian dining experience, as we allow a minimum of three hours between reservations.

    Very small, quiet dining with only 4 tables inside of a wine shop so you have an unlimited choice. Chris, the owner, explained that he lived in Italy for a couple of years and studied in several restaurants so he makes only fresh and authentic Italian food. Eating here is a very unique but very worthwhile experience. Walking inside the shop, it’s surprising to see 4 well set dining tables inside, so don’t expect a lovely view. But it definitely allows you to focus on your table mates. The food was exceptional. I highly recommend this place.

    If you are looking for the best meal of your life, you absolutely cannot sleep on Quality Foods Market. If they were in South Tampa or Carrollwood, they would be booked weeks in advance. The intimate dining room allows Chef Chris to really interact with each and every guest while still making sure that everything that comes out of the kitchen is perfection. The snails are always a must for me; garlicky and buttery goodness. I won't eat lamb anywhere else now because the quality here cannot be beat and they are always cooked to a perfect medium rare.

    Chef Chris Is very knowledgeable and passionate about his food and wine. We were blown away by the quality and taste of the food the mussels in the white sauce was excellent the Ragu allla bolognese with pappardelle pasta was to die for and my wife loved her pappadelle artichoke and Sicilian capers the service was excellent we will be returning there frequently

    Best Italian Restaurant in Florida and best we have been to in the US. Chef Chris has to be one of the best chef's in the world based on his cooking techniques and care for quality. Chef Chris always delivers. We had the pasta made table side which was out of this world great. If you want great pasta, great seafood or a great meat dish, steak, lamb, etc. do yourself a favor and visit Quality Foods Market. Chef Chris and his family are great. Chef Chris is a perfectionist and an expert on cooking and foods. You can enjoy a leisure quiet meal or you can engage in a educational conversation about food with Chef Chris when he has time :)

    Great experience. Hate to put this on line but I have stomach issues but can eat here without a problem because everything is made fresh with fresh ingredients and without preservatives. Absolutely delicious!

    Chef Chris and his staff once again provided an experience that rivals anything, anywhere. Today Chef was doing tableside pasta with an aged cheese wheel. I've had a similar experience maybe half dozen times around the world and they were all good. This was unreal. He used an aged cheese as opposed to a young cheese, and explained why and how it would be different. I can't even describe the sauce, other than it was beyond fantastic. Chef Chris also provided an excellent wine choice that was so good we ended up taking two bottles home. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

    We love this restaurant. The food and service are unparalleled. Today I tried Chef Chris' Sunday special, a pork dish from Rome with an asparagus pasta dish. It was sublime. My husband had the other special, a filet with aged balsamic which was easily the best filet we've ever had anywhere. Quality Foods Market impresses us each and every time we visit with food and service that's head and shoulders above anything else in Tampa Bay.

    Steak out of this world. We have eaten all around the world and this steak blew my mind. Chef Chris very knowledgeable. Nice conversation and Emily and staff were superb. Pasta was fantastic. Scallops the best I’ve ever had! Delicious snails and red pepper bisque. Wine was amazing and dessert. Nothing compares. So good my husband decided moving forward to take his out of town clients to Quality Foods instead of other popular establishments like Berns. Can’t recommend enough!

    There is not a better restaurant experience than Quality Foods Market. I've never seen the kind of passion exhibited by Chef Chris. He genuinely cares about your experience and offers to help select the perfect bottle of wine, checks on every table after every course, and makes sure to come back around at the end and show his appreciation for us dining there. The entire experience is so different than anywhere else, and the food is amazing. I had the scallops and Chef Chris explained they were dry versus wet. I never knew a scallop could be so flavorful. They were amazing. My husband had a filet and prawn special that was also out of this world fantastic. The filet was finished with 40 year old balsamic and Chef Chris said the prawn was a saltwater prawn from Sicily. My husband and I both agree, Quality Foods Market is the best restaurant in Tampa Bay, and easily one of the best we've experienced throughout the US and Europe. Every meal is memorable. Thank you Chef Chris for another fantastic experience!

    Another amazing dining experience. This is the best restaurant in Tampa Bay. Chef Chris shows how passionate he is and provides an experience unlike anything else I've ever seen, anywhere. It feels very personal, like you're in his home. The food is on another level and is as good and even better than some meals I've had in Italy. Last night I had the ribeye with anchovy butter for the second time. There is no better ribeye out there. Period. My wife had a pasta dish with homemade sausage and a roasted red pepper sauce. It was off the charts fantastic. I can't recommend this little hidden gem enough.

    Chef Chris was very friendly and took time to explain the menu, importing the food and how it was prepared. We had an appetizer, salad and shared the Bronzino and a pasta dish. We also enjoyed some excellent house super Tuscan wine. Our meal and the experience of that meal was 10/10. Small intimate restaurant so you need reservations. One of the two best meals I have had in 2023. You can also purchase wine and beer to go and join their wine club -we did both. We are already talking about going back

    Another great experience at Quality Foods!! We had some amazing fresh pasta with bolognese sauce (which, you could tell, had also been freshly made), and it was absolutely delicious! It was complimented with an Italian salad and fresh bread to start, and an amazing bottle of wine that came as a recommendation, and paired very nicely with the pasta. If you are looking for real Italian cuisine, and an amazing experience from start to finish, Quality Foods is an absolute must!!

    Every time my husband and I come here we are left in awe of the experience. The service is outstanding, but the food is on another level. It's hard to describe because it's Michelin worthy food, but it's not pretentious, and there's something for everyone. You can spend a small fortune doing it up, or you can go small and eat for about the same as most chains, but either way, it's likely going to be one of, if not the best, meal you've ever had. Chef Chris then takes it up another level with his own personal touch. The restaurant was very busy, but he made sure to spend time with us, making sure our meals and service were perfect. There is nobody more passionate about food than Chef Chris, and it shows with each dish.

    It's always an amazing experience. The food and the service are sublime, but Chef Chris takes the whole experience to the next level with his knowledge and interaction at the table. He doesn't just stop by to see how the meal is. He comes by and tells you about the meal. My wife had a pasta with what he described as a rare cheese, and then told us how it's made. We were floored. But this is not just a one time thing. He's interacted with us like this every time we've been in. It's like nothing else around.

    I am WOWED every time I dine here. The food and service are both unparalleled and consistent. I've dined here about once a month or so over the past 5-6 years here and each time has been fantastic. Chef Chris and his staff deliver an experience that is so unique it's hard to describe other than to say it is very European. It's got a super casual and relaxed vibe, but with food that rivals anything I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. This is the one place where you get to see, taste, and hear the passion behind each dish because Chef Chris doesn't just casually stop by your table and ask how things are. He spends quality time with each table making sure that everything is perfect. He explains the dishes. He tells you where the ingredients are sourced from and how things are made. He'll tell you stories about Italy or the history of what you're eating. The whole staff is great too. I won't go anywhere else for Italian in Tampa Bay, and Quality Foods Market has become my go to when I want the best steak or seafood in the area. I can't recommend this place enough. It must sound over the top how I rave about this place, but after a lifetime of dining out here and abroad, this is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. I just can't believe it's in a little unassuming strip center in Tampa, because Chef Chris could put this place smack dab in the middle of Rome, or New York or LA and be the talk of the town.

    We love this restaurant! Quality Foods has become our favorite place and tonight’s meal didn’t disappoint. We both chose pastas this evening, which come with either a house salad or cup of lobster bisque. The salad is a generous portion and filled with roasted tomatoes and briny olives. The pasta noodles are made fresh in-house and you can definitely tell the difference. For meat eaters, I highly recommend either the Ragu alla bolognaise or the Salsiccia with spicy Italian sausage. Both are delicious and plentiful enough to bring home leftovers (if you can stop yourself from eating it all!). Honestly, there is nothing on the menu I would not order. Everything is perfectly made with the highest quality ingredients you’ll find anywhere in the area. Chef Chris will not disappoint! Grace provided excellent service, attentive without being intrusive, and never failing to recall our favorite items (cannolis and cappuccino, anyone?) Finally, if you enjoy wine or beer with your meal, they’ve got you covered with a huge selection of both.

    We have enjoyed every visit to Quality Foods since we first found them since before COVID. Several months ago, they started serving Bistecca alla Fiorentina. It is an absolutely exquisite, cut to order Certified Prime 1881 Hereford Heritage Porterhouse steak at least 2" thick cooked over oak. Let me tell you, this steak is literally the best steak I have ever had in my life. Find a friend or two to share this special experience with and go splurge. Worth every penny.

    This was my second time here and I cannot be more impressed with the food and the service. This may well be the best restaurant I've ever been to, and I've travelled extensively. The vibe is casual and Florida-like, but the food, service, and wine selections are nothing short of spectacular. We started with pancetta wrapped sea scallops and the calamari. I've never had better of either in my life. The sea scallops were cooked perfectly and the flavor was incredible. The calamari wasn't fried. It was just done in a tomato type sauce. It tasted super fresh and the sauce had a nice amount of spice. My wife went with bronzino and it was big enough to share. Wow was it good! The skin was crisp and the meat flaky and flavorful. It was topped with some sort of herb sauce that was very lemony. Normally that wouldn't by my thing, but this was really good. I had the grilled lamb chops and they were the best I've ever had. They were juicy and flavorful and I found myself scraping the last of an meat left off the bones they were so good. The chops were served with a mashed bean that was kind of like a garlic mashed potato that also so good, I ordered another half side. The chef spent time with our table again tonight and we learned that he spends time with every table. The whole experience was outstanding and for our time and money, this is better than the newly minted Michelin starred Italian restaurant in the area. We are looking forward to working our way through the menu.

    Quality Foods is truly a hidden gem! It’s authentic Italian, and the food is absolutely amazing! The ambience is different from a typical restaurant- it has a bistro feel, so more intimate for sure, which is a great change. Chef Chris is very attentive, and takes so much pride in what he makes, and you can tell all the ingredients he uses are nothing short of the best. The ribeye that we had was truly one of the best steaks I have ever had! The bread and sides are also delicious, not to mention the delectable desserts! If you are looking for something different than the typical restaurant, and are looking for an authentic Italian experience, I highly recommend Quality Foods!
