What Insiders Are Saying
Cater to your basic needs with small plates Italian food in River North.
Love this place
Always great food
The atmosphere was great and so was the food. Fun dinner and a great authentic Chicago feel.
Very good place. They serve food in small portions, but it’s less expensive then normal meal, so you can try different dishes. There were a bit noisy, but we seated near huge party. Overall very good.
Spencer was our server, and she was great. My husband and I had been before (for my 40th before Hamilton), and we knew we had to bring my in-laws and daughter over Fall Break. It lived up to our high expectations and exceeded them. My FIL loved his fettuccine al fredo, and my MIL loved her romaine heart salad. We also had other dishes and a carafe of wine. We shared everything, and it was all delicious. And the check was very reasonable (almost half was the cost of the liter of wine). Highly recommend.
Never been disappointed. Food is delicious. Wait staff friendly and know the menu inside and out.
Excellent menu with a great blend of traditional foods done in a unique and high (very) way. All dishes we tried, 7 in total, were excellent.
Good food and reasonably priced but very loud.
Have eaten here before so decided to take work group here. Menu offers something for every diner. Group enjoyed family style allowing all to share their picks
So many restaurants (in Chicago), so little time. We have our favorites, but didn't want to go far from the hotel so we gave Quartino a chance. No regrets! Loved the portion sizes so we could try a variety of appetizers and entrees. Go! You won't regret it.
Too loud, had to shout across a small 2-top. But food and service were excellent, as always.
Had a great evening. The food was very good, got to sample a variety of dishes. Service was amazing, helpful with allergies. Helped make the birthday celebration a success.
We’ve had 4 or 5 meals here—all excellent meals and fun. The party of 12 for my daughter’s birthday went very smoothly and was great. Sharing plates promotes congeniality and conversation; it makes you feel part of the action. I would recommend Quartino for business meals and first-time meetings. A truly relaxed meal.
We had a great night!! We ordered 8 different kinds of pasta- and truly enjoyed every single one!
Look forward to returning-
The food was AWESOME as well as our waiter. We went for a birthday and loved every second of it. We got a ton of food for a decent price. would 100% go back.
Way too loud and food does not come out all at once - it is more tapas style wish should be explained on website. We could not share bc of various food restrictions.
Way too noisy and they put us at table literally at edge of stairs where everyone bumped in to us! Terrible
Our food was delicious. The service was perfect. We were terribly uncomfortable due to the massive number of tables crowded into one room. The noise level was at a maximum.
Great food, small plates constantly being dropped off as they were ready- served piping hot- So good for sharing. Great hectic eatery lots of energy!! Old world Italian dishes delish!
Awesome food, love the large wine selection and that I can order by the ounce. The menu items are meant to be shared which worked out great because then we got to try more items and everyone was happy without being overstuffed. Service was slow though and we had to ask other wait staff for items becuase we could not find our waitress a few times.
wonderful - place was recommended to us in our home town of el paso, tx. exceeded all expectations. we will come back.
Very convivial atmosphere
This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to ever and I’m a New Yorker saying that-an Italian one- everything was perfect couldn’t ask for better. had the best time. The shrimp fra diavolo was amazing as was the homemade spaghetti-thank you so much for a great experience!!
Second time we went and Quartino is still our favorite! Get food, great vibe, and a fun place to eat.
6 friends in Chicago visiting from Kansas City. Highly recommend this restaurant. We had a great time, great food, and great service.
Second trip to Quartino. Both experiences have been excellent. Fantastic value for excellent dining!
Sound level exceeds 80 dB. Very difficult to hear my friends. They have to shout.
Will not return even if the food and service was good
My husband and I come to Chicago about once a year. A friend told us about Quartinos several years ago and we fell in love with the place. It is one of the restaurants we always visit when in ChicGo.
Great experience. Server was very kind. Food came out a little too fast for me to keep up but it was delicious!
Nice for sharing and trying new things. Portion sizes vary but plenty for those not wanting to share. Good variety.
So accommodating to our group waitress was amazing.
We loved the food and the small plates menu. Lots of different things to taste and share. We all had pastas which were delicious. Only complaint is that is was super noisy!! Hard to talk to each other. Waitress was great-definitely fun place!!
Our salads were fabulous, main courses mediocre, but the noise and crowded dining room made it difficult to enjoy the time with my husband.
Sausage and peppers, oh my goodness. Great tapas style Italian food.
Authentic Italian food and good wine list. Not fancy but welcoming.
This is some of the best Italian anywhere. Love this place and will keep coming back. Very reasonably priced for Chicago
Overall fun restaurant, noisy and crowded but food, service and value are very good. Pasta with short ribs was excellent. Would definitely recommend and return next time I'm in Chicago.
Great food and great atmosphere. We hit Quartino after running the Marathon and had an amazing time. The food was fantastic and everything I had hoped for after my race. I am glad we made early reservations though because the line was out the door when we were leaving. Definitely a good sign that this restaurant is not one to miss. I will go back for sure.
Fantastic food, service and experience! Next time I am in Chicago will be back!
Great place for the night before the Chicago marathon.
Waiter was very rude and unhelpful. Food was overpriced. Will not go back nor would I recommend.
