We had a great dinner at Quartino. The food was excellent and the service (Andi was our waitress) was just outstanding!!

The food and service were great. Portions were spot on and not too much so we could enjoy multiple other foods. Great ambience overall with a good waiting staff

The food was excellent, but sometimes great food isn't enough to get over the ambiance. To their credit, it was Saturday night at high time, but it was too loud to carry on a conversation, the wait staff couldn't really take care of us well because of the sheer amount of people there, and our food didn't come out in the right order. Would be a great place to eat on an off-night.

Honestly this restaurant was a disaster. I had read the previous review and they seemed like this place would be good for a celebration, but I was wrong. The restaurant was overcrowded and had a terrible layout, our waitress had to walk around the entire room to even reach us and the restaurant was incredibly loud. Our waitress had rushed us out of the restaurant giving us our check before we had even got our meal and we had only gotten one dish while the other was still being made leaving us to eat off one plate. The food itself was average. I'm not sure I would recommend this to anyone because if you're trying to have a meal with any type of communication going on you wont be able to hear the person sitting next to you talking. The service was average, we only saw our waitress a few times and because of the terrible layout of the restaurant I felt like that was another factor in how many times she saw us. We wanted to leave pretty badly but by the end of dinner we were disappointed and didn't even have a pen to write the tip and total the bill. Overall, it was an average experience, I wouldn't necessarily go again but there are better places in Chicago that I would highly recommend.

This restaurant was a nice little Italian place in the city. The place was cute, but it was very loud and the tables were crammed together. The food was great for the value, but not the best Italian I’ve eaten.

Tasty yumminess! Italian food at its best. Portions are as described...on the smaller side, built for sharing but they are big enough to go it alone. Special requested carbonara was delicious.

Fantastic location, nice outdoor patio area and great Italian food. There were four of us and we ordered four items and ate them family style. It was fun to be able to taste a variety of food. Our server was very attentive and patient. The only drawback was the noise. It was very crowded and we sat near the kitchen, next to a tile wall. The lack of acoustics made it almost impossible to carry on a conversation at our table. I would go back to eat, not talk!

all good: food, service, and atmosphere.
we tried the lunch special for 2 for $25.00
(3 course) no drinks and dessert included.
we had the meatballs which were made of
veal in red sauce and were just yummy.
my fav. , then we moved on to pasta and
lastly fish stew. it was very tasty, but a
little to salty. finished with profiteroles
also yummy. would definitely go back
and try the pizza... lots of it being served.

We were visiting Chicago on a road trip since our friend was moving across country and we stayed a few days. We went for dinner our last night in Chicago and the food was absolutely phenomenal. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the city.

Not a good place if you want to have a conversation over dinner. The pace and noise level are frenetic!

Not bad not great. Touristy spot with middle of the road Italian offerings. Wine selection was nice and priced well. Not the best Italian food in Chicago but good for the price.

The food, service were great. We were party of 4 at the restaurant about 3pm. They have a rule where they bring the food to the table as the kitchen produces it. Our food came to us the same way. The bad thing is that if there are more than person on your table they all have to wait until the food for everyone is delivered for them to eat it together. So the persons food that is delivered first goes to eat cold food. Anyhow I’m sure there is a operational reason why it is the way it is but they should remember that they exist because of the customer and at some point the customer eating hot food must come first.

The pasta is delicious but the plates are a little small, especially considering they're for sharing. Will definitely be back, just may order an extra plate. Desserts are HUGE!

loved how accomodating they were for a last minute brunch - for 14! But the menu options were kinda weird for brunch. Wasn't planning on pizza and salads. Too few "normal" breakfast dishes on the menu.

Quartino is a happy buzzing place full of great food & good wine, at reasonable prices. I’ve never had a bad meal & have been dozens of times. I’d love to convince them to open a location in Charlotte. They’d clean up!

Waitress forgot to bring us a few of the things that we ordered and she then disappeared for awhile. Very good, but we were missing a few desserts at the end that we didn’t have time to reorder and wait.

Quartino was a phenomenal experience overall - a surprising balance of quality and value.

The restaurant ambiance is best described as energetic and fluid. The owners clearly packed as many chairs and tables into the establishment as they could, which adds to the energy and excitement. However, any additional seating would have been stifling. Our party sat in the front area, facing the street. A neighboring large party was extremely loud so it made it difficult to hear. Though it was the individuals who were loudly talking, the close proximity of the tables amplified the experience.

The food was fantastic. There was a wide variety of unique and common appetizer and entree items. I was pleasantly surprised by the inexpensiveness of the choices. The polenta fries were served hot and with a complementary (not complimentary) serving of roasted red pepper sauce. A great pairing. Our party chose multiple carbohydrate dishes including the exquisite truffles risotto and the vodka sauce pasta. All dishes were remarkable in their taste, portion size, and pricing.

The service was also wonderful. Our server was balancing multiple busy tables and still managed to pleasantly attend to our wants and needs. She spoke succinctly and clearly, in spite of the loud environment. The bathrooms included bathroom attendees who offered a touch of elegance and a unique experience.

Given everything, it was a fantastic choice for a night out. My takeaway was the extremely low prices, especially given the high prices of Chicago establishments. I was expecting the portion sizes to reflect the low prices but I was happy that they did not. I would recommend this place for friendly get-togethers or family outings. I would NOT recommend Quartino for romantic dinners or situations where you expect quiet dialogue. That being said, there may have been other areas of the restaurant that were quieter. Moving forward I will DEFINITELY go back to Quartino when I return to Chicago.

I had heard about this restaurant for years, so, perhaps, my expectations were too high?

We were originally seated in a doorway even though we’ve had reservations. The noise level was so high we would have had to shout at each other to be heard. Thankfully, we were able to move to a better, more quiet location.

This food was good, but not over-the-top as I have been led to believe. Our server was not as attentive as I’d hope and we sat with an empty olive oil container most of our dinner.

With all the great restaurants in Chicago, I won’t be returning to this one.

Every single time we come to Chicago, we stop here for dinner one of the nights. This restaurant has the most amazing service and the food is authentic and delicious - ALWAYS. The Bellini is a classic light and semi sweet. The Salumeria Tasting is perfect because you have the option to choose your own meats and cheeses. The Tortellini and Pappardelle al Sugo di Manzo are our favorites along with ending dinner with an order of Zeppole. They have a good and varied wine list as well.

I always enjoy Quartino's whenever I am downtown Chicago. I have sat inside and on the patio and have enjoyed both settings. I lkie the idea of sharing dishes- like Spanish tapas except Italian tapas. I always get the beet salad with burrata, the fried calamari, the dates stuffed with gorgonzola and wrapped with bacon and the gnocchi with pesto and green beans. We went for brunch and I tried the tortellini with alfredo sauce- the tortellini was made fresh and melted in my mouth. Alfredo was a bit heavy, but the totellini was so good. The full menu is served for brunch and they have bruch specials as well. Save room for the zeppole and biscotti and scoop of their gelato. Always have a great experience here-wait staff is freindly and attentive and meals have been great. Such a fun place to take la familia! Great for all ages.
