What Insiders Are Saying
Cater to your basic needs with small plates Italian food in River North.
We were in Chicago for four full days. We ate at Quartino on Day 2 and made it a point to go for lunch as our last meal before going back home. Quartino is warm and inviting with its charming curb appeal. The interior ambience exceeded the expectations set by the exterior. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is absolutely amazing. We had the fettuccine Alfredo and, a pepperoni pizza, a Margherita pizza, and an assortment of olives. I can not recommend Quartino highly enough.
Thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience.
The Ambiance was great
Great service and great food you could taste the freshness of the food
Took my girlfriend here for our anniversary
She liked the place
Staff was friendly and look forward to making another visit here
The food was delicious and the wait staff were very polite and friendly. However the host and hostess were extremely rude and our table wasn’t ready until 30 minutes after our reservation time.
Great experience & loved the food!
I've been coming to Quartino for years and I can say, with out a doubt, it's my favorite restaurant in Chicago! The food is absolutely amazing! The service seems a little rushed. But, the servers are of course very nice and accommodating! Although it seems like they try to fit as many tables as possible into the space, the loud atmosphere makes for the feel of a true Italian restaurant.
We had an unbelievable experience at Quartino! The fondue was life-changing. We asked our server (Ryan) to customize our charcuterie board and it was fantastic. We loved the family atmosphere and the vibe. Ryan was outstanding and had a great attitude. The value was also a big plus.
The food is always amazing but the star of the show was our server. She noticed we were celebrating, gave us time, was never pressuring us to order and brought a positive vibe to our table every visit. I wish she could be my server everywhere!
Food and atmosphere were excellent! We went with our 6 and 7 year olds and they liked it too! Service was attentive.
Good for accommodating a very large group
Excellent! Great value and service. Enjoyed sharing each dish.
Very helpful server, gave good recommendations but didn’t try to up sell us. Food was tasty, portions were on the small side, even for tapas. Noise level was high, we had to raise our voices to hear each other, but it didn’t detract from the experience. Overall, a fun dinner with family.
Quartino is fantastic. The food is amazing. Service is usually excellent. This time it was ok. The tables are too close together. And the noise/ambiance made it nearly impossible to hear the person across from me.
Restaurant was lovely tables were a bit small service was terrific food was very good though the noise volume was horrible
The food was fantastic. It’s so much fun to share small plates with friends.
Great food and wine! Fantastic wine list!!!
Wonderful place service was good food good had a great meal
Food is supposed to be like small plate and shared, so comes out at random times. We waited over 30 min for one friend to get her food. We were all done with our plates as they came out very fast. All the food was delicious though and well priced!
Love the food & service!
Food was great but the service was even better. It was packed but our waitress Alyssa still took the time to give us great recommendations and have a conversation with us. She even gave us a free dessert! So sweet. Get the meatballs and the ribbon pasta with meat sauce.
Very fun place with delicious food. The menu is quite extensive with plenty of options. We loved the small plate concept so that we could try a variety of dishes. The only thing you should be aware of is the crowded seating and loud environment.
AMAZING dishes we tried & LOVED ~~~~
Caprese salad, roasted beet salad, cavatelli, shrimp risotto, eggplant parmigiana, & DELICIOUS dessert— torta al cioccolato (warm chocolate cake w molten chocolate lava). Service was awesome. Plates come out as soon as prepared. DELICIOUS!!!!!
Very very busy. The food was good but one of our appetizers got lost In the shuffle. The service was great.m and the menu had a lot of options.
We chose Quartino to have dinner with my daughter and son and to meet his new girlfriend for the first time. Perfect choice! We have always said we weren't going to go to downtown Chicago on St Patrick's day (Eve) but we did it this time and were happy we did. Quartino has normal Italian entree's but specializes in Italian-style Tapas. We decided to go with the Chef's choice for appetizers and were pleasantly surprised with the selection. Prosciutto, Fontina and Romano cheese chunks, Italian bread, Italian olive assortment, a mango based sauce, a candied mustard infused sauce (yum!) and salami slices. Delicious! For our main course we each chose a favorite. The wait staff brings out each dish to pass in perfect sequence to keep us occupied while not eating too fast. Our server was energetic, funny, prompt and checked in with us often to make sure we were satisfied. We finished off with some dessert selections (Tiramisu of course), cannoli and a light flaky donut-like pastry with apricot and chocolate dipping sauces. Oh so good! The highlight of the evening came when a group of Irish bagpipers entered the restaurant and serenaded us! The perfect evening!
Amazing food, amazing service! We loved every moment.
I am originally from the area-but now live out of state. We come here every visit back.
Quartino has great food, friendly staff, good wine, and very reasonable prices. I love taking friends and family there. Never get tired of Quartinos.
Amazing. Great food. Good service.
Service was amazing. Our server was very accommodating. Food as always was great.
We love this restaurant. The service is always spot on and the food is great to eat and share. You will not be disappointed.
This is my second trip here. The first time was with my parents and we really enjoyed the experience. This time I went with a few co-workers for my birthday celebration and they treated us really well.
They need to teach servers to leave you alone. Constant pressure from servers to order more, eat and drink quick so they can free up the table for more fat tips. Owners sh
Great food, large portions, service got a little fragmented towards the end but overall great experience. Good place to go with a group that wants to have a good time and linger, but just as nice for couples too. Great meal!!
Always love this place!
Loved the cheese & charcuterie platter
Very busy atmosphere, but food was delicious!
The most authentic tasting Italian I’ve had since going to Italy! Everything was incredible!
Great food and service; very noisy to a point where you had to yell in order to communicate.
It was pretty packed, I'm glad I had a reservation or I might of had to wait awhile. The food and drinks were great. My friend and I shared fondue and she got a pizza and I got the short rib. All of it was delicious. I'll definitely be back.
Nice wine list fairly priced, loved the veal meatballs and the pancetta ravioli. Service was excellent. It can be quite loud as it was on a busy Saturday night but otherwise outstanding.
