   Really nice spot -- great ambiance and the food is executed well. I highly recommend anyone reading this to check it out. I think their wine list could be expanded and perhaps there could be a little bit better value for money, but overall a really enjoyable experience!

   The restaurant "Raphaël Peruvian Cuisine" showed insensitivity to my request to have a small piece of bread to eat with the starter and the fish soup. The reason given was that the quantity of breads baked in the kitchen corresponded with the number of customers. At 60 years old, it's the first time I've had this kind of experience, especially since it was a New Year's Eve dinner and the bill per person was 120 CAD, not including the price of the drinks (and the bottle of wine at 64 CAD) we ordered. The other problem was the number of courses (a small brioche with butter or a very small amount of melon sorbet, a very small cup of cream, etc.) and the amount of food in the dish, ...ridiculously too small. This is definitely a scam. I didn't know (hear) about this restaurant before 2022 New Year's Eve, but I would definitely never go there. So be careful and beware!

    Exquisite. Ottawa is so fortunate that chef and chef de cuisine chose us to make their home and bring us such amazing Peruvian food, truly a world cuisine on a level with the greatest. We sampled tapas (causa de atún, tamale de pato, anticucho) and 2 mains ( pork belly, and of course ceviche). Without hesitation I would order the same again were it not for all the other tasty options I want to try next. I wish the business all the best in the years ahead and can't wait to seethe new location on 2023🤤

    Our first experience with Peruvian food. We shared three tapas plates and two desserts. It was very enjoyable. The staff was helpful in explaining our selections. A very pleasant non rushed evening. We will definitely go back.

    As a Peruvian living in Ottawa my expectations about the food were quite high. I was truly surprised by the fine taste and personal touch infused in the few dishes my daughters and I had. While the dishes are not the classic recipe, the choice of the chef to depart from the traditional to take it to a refine level is an excellent one. I loved it. Also worth mentioning is the ambience with decor and choice of music that will transport you to an imaginary place. To top it all, we had a wonderful waitress who, despite her basic Spanish, knew very well the choices of the menu and provided a super friendly service. Kudos to the restaurant! I will go back again for sure.

    Very good restaurant with authentic Peruvian flavours. I tried the "lomo saltado" and "seco de cordero" they were delicious!! Highly recommend this place.

    Very taste full peruvian food with a touch of fusion ingredients, which makes it an extraordinary culinary experience. I tried the Arroz con Camarones, Rice with shrimps. It was a kind of risotto Dish, with every bite senses awaken at maximum. The ambient is a mixed of European and tropical decorations. Customer service exceed nowadays lack of customer care.

    We dined at Raphael last evening and, in a word, it was outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive and very familiar with the menu. The ceviche, the salad and the Yuquitas were amazing. The pork belly was delicious and the arroz con camarones was outstanding. A fantastic experience!

    Portion/quality to cost ratio is too high. Too many ingredients and components in each dish to let any one of them shine properly. The cocktails are too simple and basic for their price point. The small plates (appetizers) are too expensive for the offerings. Having experienced fine dining in Peru, this is subpar in all aspects especially the food combinations and lack of flavour. The concept is good but the execution is very poor.

    I used to order from their city centre location. This was my first time on Clarence St. The cuisine puts most other Ottawa restaurants to shame. It is that good! One of my favourite restaurants!

    From start to finish, Raphael was pure perfection! Warm and cozy decor, excellent service, small but perfect wine list, beautiful presentation, and delicious food! Had the rockfish jaleo and ate yuca for the first time. The dish was amazing with a lovely presentation. The dipping sauces were superb! Really enjoyed the spicy one that added to the yuca. Highly recommended for a night out with friends.

    Wow, a bit expensive but whort every dollar, perfect service, the drink where tasty and whel balance. The place and the ambience is fantastic for a relax talk whit friends or familly. For the food it was the best meal I hade in years.....just wow. The hummus was the best thing I put in my mouth in my life. Stronly revommande.

    Good spot for an evening out, however we would expect better quality service to go along with the vibe the restaurant is aiming for. There were a series of mishaps that made some moments awkward and disappointing, which led to an average experience overall. We tried a variety of plates and some were better than others. Price point a bit high. Worth a try.

    It was a party for our tastebuds! The Tiradito de conchas stood out with a refreshing flavor, the braised duck just melted in our mouths and we really enjoyed our main course Asado Criollo (we were happy to see this dish back on the menu). The restaurant has a nice vibe and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Great cocktails as well!

    Brilliant cuisine! The ByWard Market is lucky to have a new restaurant like Raphael reviving what was once a culinary hub for the city. The food is exciting and well crafted. Chef Lizardo has brought world famous modern Peruvian cooking to Ottawa with Canadian ingredients. So impressed that he sources his sustainable seafood directly from the west coast. I’m in love with the causa they do since I first tried it from their pop up location, I will always recommend it. I also can’t turn down the yuca fries purely as a vehicle for the Peruvian olive sauce that they come with, so tasty and balanced. Their ceviche stands alone, easily best in the city, the perfect amounts of lime, garlic, ginger and the other elements of the tiger’s milk. We tried a new duck dish the night we were there and it was a stand out, I hope it is still on the menu next time we go back. For drinks we had pisco sours, normally pisco doesn’t agree with me but the way the bartenders mix it makes me love it somehow! Service was great and friendly, Raphael Peruvian Cuisine is really special.
