Vegetarians are likely to enjoy the Moroccan Chickpea and Kale Strudel or Smokey Portuguese Black Bean Stew. The Coconut Kaffir Lime Seafood Pot, Three Pharaohs and Steak Argentine are all long time local favorite dishes. Paired with a Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita and finished with a Banana Cheesecake Spring Roll, you are looking at a great night out!
We were introduced to Raven through a “foodie tour “ with Estelle. We knew that was where dinner would be the next night. Everything from the service to the ambiance, from the quality of food to the exceptional value simply blew us away!
Thanks very much! We are huge fans!
Under new ownership since our last visit. Not the same Raven.
My favorite place to eat in Jasper. And the happy hour deals are incredible.
Been to this place twice now and everything is flavourful and fresh! Service is excellent. Nice atmosphere too. A must try in Jasper!
Really enjoyed the evening. A few meals weren't exactly as we expected, but the server was very diligent in making it right. Service well beyond expectations. Would definitely recommend and come back.
Food was unique and very tasty. The vibes are very chill and deco of the restaurant is super chic! Very lovely meal here.
Great atmosphere, delicious food with reasonable prices.
Delicious food, great service! Would totally go back!
Came here for Valentine's Day dinner and it was a great idea! Service was wonderful, food was tasty and overall nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back if coming to Jasper.
Great vegan food and friendly, prompt service. Would definitely go back next jasper trip.
I was very impressed with the food. I had THE THREE PHARAOHS and my date had the COCONUT KAFFIR LIME SEAFOOD POT and then we shared our plates because we enjoyed the flavours so much.
The Three Pharaohs was Beef tenderloin with harissa, chicken with mint cilantro yogurt and lamb chevapcici with lemon tahini yogurt on a bed of jewelled Israeli couscous. Served with grilled pita. The flavours were very good and the dish, although such a wide range of differing flavours went down well. It could have used larger meat portions and less couscous though. The chicken was very dry though and that took away from the meal. The lamb was basically ground with some spices. Still a lamb taste but not what I had in mind. I learned that Chevapcici was basically mincemeat. Not my first choice for this type of meal. The tenderloin, though small, was outta the park.
The Coconut Kaffir Seafood Pot was Salmon, cod, snapper, shrimp, scallops and mussels simmered in a kaffir lime coconut tomato broth and served over sweet potato noodles with Asian vegetables. All of the seafood was well cooked, I'm assuming all cooked separately and added to the broth. The broth was very flavourful and the asian noodles were an interesting touch to keep the meal Gluten free. I would be interested to taste it with a pasta and a thicker broth but those are only suggestions rather then critiques.
The service was really good and it I would def eat there again. Not to kitchen staff, don't let the chicken dry out. ;)
We had reservations for a post snowboarding dinner on a Friday for 8:00. After a long day of great snow and big smiles we were starving by 6:00. I called Raven Bistro and asked if there was a chance we could come sooner and they were very accommodating. We arrived to a nice intimate setting and cheerful, knowledgable staff. The food was fantastic! Drinks were fantastic! Service was Fantastic! Before we left we had already decided to come back on Sunday to enjoy the happy hour menu as the fondu is priced really well. They did not dissapoint, the fondue and cocktails we had were perfect for the extreme cold temps and blizzard weather. Thank you to Raven Bistro for the awesome dining experiences. I hope this review helps get the word out to anyone travelling through Jasper and looking for a wonderful dining experience.
This has fast become one of our favourite restaurants in Jasper. The food, drinks and service are absolutely outstanding.
Service was fantastic. Amazing, lovely British server. She was the best part. It looked like out schnitzel was deep fried not pan fried. Really crisp, dry and flavorless. Thank goodness for the chutney and side dish.
We were there on Sat evening. The first waitress we got wasn't really nice but then they moved us as we needed more space and the next one was great. The place needs to be little updated. I understand a point of going "old style" but things need to match- like plates, glassware etc. Also there mush be a better way of having only a curtain at the entrance. My dish was good and I had a stake. But then my husband got the weirdest dish. Three meats dish. Too many different flavors for one dish that are not really matching. Their house salad was great. I would still recommend this place as the quality of food and service was good.
We immediately were given the warmest of welcomes and the service was great the whole time. The food was gorgeous and different From the usual. They were very accommodating in terms of what we ate. We had a shared fondue for starter but then had no space for main so had desserts.
Server was fabulous. We had 2 tables of 8 and she looked after the kids at 1 table and adults at the other.
Food came out swiftly.
Just a little slow when we were ready to pay.
A must when you are in Jasper. Very good good and excellent service.
Was very disappointed to go there for my birthday dinner. The server was very nice and friendly but took a long time to initially get served and our drinks brought. The Calamari appetizer was pretty good. I ordered a Steak medium rare with prawns and twice fried french fries with a salad, the fries were hot but soggy, the steak was cooked rare on the ends and blue rare in the middle and it was only warm when it came out and the prawns were room temperature. The girlfriend ordered Halibut with coconut rice and curry sauce. The fish was cooked nicely but they put a cold salsa on the fish, the coconut rice had a burnt taste like the pot run out of water and was cold and didn't taste like coconut as well as the curry sauce that was with the dish was cold, so the only thing hot was the fish but it cooled off quickly and wasn't very appetizing. The table next to us had a similar issue with the extended wait and poor food quality. For the price, it was definitely not worth it. We won't be back.
Great Food and Service!
Fabulous menu - healthy yet sumptuous! Intimate, Zen setting. Attentive but not overpowering service. Will be a regular when we are in Jasper
We had the falafel appetizer, the calamari, the Spanish spiced chicken wings, the halibut, Three Pharoahs, the mini-donuts and the chocolate pecan pie. I was a little worried that the portions would be small for the price, but I need not have been - the pictures don't do the plates justice, you will not leave hungry. The chicken wings appy was huge, as was the piece of halibut; so often one gets ripped off when ordering grilled fish dishes, but that was definitely not the case here.
The seating was comfortable, the lighting adequate, the background noise reasonable and the service was prompt, attentive and friendly. The food is the real star here - it could be described as modern Mediterranean or Mediterranean fusion, or simply as fan-freakin-tastic. Everyone loved the flavour combinations, even the "I don't like curry" crowd thought the Moroccan-influenced spices were perfectly complimentary, as were the side sauces. Everything was fresh, made in house, and impeccably flavour balanced.
The cocktails are very good. Our food came out lukewarm. My meal was supposed to be served with a grilled lemon to squeeze over the schnitzel and it was not on the plate. Had to ask the waitress twice for lemon and then she brought me lemon slices from the bar instead of the grill lemon I saw other patrons get with their meal. We decided to wait for dessert as we had half a bottle of wine, I made our reservation over a month ago and they had the nerve to come ask us if we would consider finishing our wine and eating at our dessert at the bar and give up our table (they would comp dessert) as they overbooked the restaurant that night. I would not recommend this for a dinner out in jasper after this experience...there are many other restaurants in jasper with hot delicious food who wont try to rush you out of a dining experience when you are spending good money and have made a reservation
Lovely restaurant. Staff are very professional and friendly. Prices for the food is a bit high for what you get.
New Years Eve dinner. Great food! Loved our server.
Just wonderful. Awesome waitress, food was excellent!!
We will definitely be coming back!!
We enjoyed our evening out! The fondue was tasty as were our main courses! Looking forward to returning another time! Waitress was very good too!
This is one of the better restaurants in jasper park, It's a Mediterranian cuisine thats peppered very well
Great menu that has flavourful choices. Service is friendly and personable.
great food and service. recommended for sure. Waiter could not have been more helpful.
Cozy spot downtown Jasper for a great dinner with the wife. Small dinning area and was quite busy. Server was very personable and the food was great. I liked the Moroccan flare in a couple of the dishes. They also have a nice variety of drinks, i would recommend Jasper the bear.
We were in town for a conference. So we decided to take a date night and go out for dinner.
Food and service were amazing. We got there just before happy hour ended. So pricing was great.
My only complaint is that I didn’t know it was a family restaurant. Not that that is bad. But we get very few date nights away from our 5 kids. And it felt like my kids were the screaming at the other end of the restaurant. There aren’t any dividers. So noise travels.
But we still enjoyed ourselves.
Good vegetarian choices, great tasting food, excellent service. Main menu is rather pricey. Take advantage of the Happy Hour specials before 6 pm and enjoy. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious.
Super fun place. Service was outstanding and allergies were easily accommodated. Great vegan/ vegetarian options!
We would highly recommend the lamb shank and the beef Wellington. Both were excellent, as was the service and the ambience. We will be back.
I have been going to Raven Bistro pretty much since they opened. The original owner opened Raven while also running another resturant in Jasper. He has since sold both but Raven has maintained a great atmosphere and the food is still excellent. I would definately recommend trying Raven next time you are in Jasper and looking for something a bit more refined than Earl's.
Vegetarian food was bland. Could be better
My wife and I loved the food. Will definately come back!
We had a great time! Especially if you have to find a restaurant that offers glutenfree dishes, this place is perfect! The food was really great and I would definitely recommend this Place!
We ordered from the happy hour menu and had a great Fondue and half price beer. Service was great, food was delicious and a veritable bargain. Highly recommend...
