Living in Newfoundland and Labrador, we’re blessed in having access to some of the best seafood, meat, and produce in the world. Having such a bountiful larder right on our doorsteps means we’re able to adopt a truly sustainable approach to fine dining – sourcing locally-grown ingredients and getting to know independent purveyors. We've made every effort to make dining at Raymonds a unique and rare treat. Visit us at 95 Water Street in the heart of downtown St. John’s. Our dinner menu, prepared by head chef Jeremy Charles, is inspired by rustic Atlantic Canadian cuisine. It features authentic dishes that take advantage of Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich variety of seafood, wild game, berries and vegetables, while also exploring innovative, 'haute cuisine' ingredient combinations and finishes.

It was a great experience to do a fresh tasting menu in St. John's. The food was good overall but we were a bit disappointed with the taste given the high cost. Unless you are happy to splurge on a dinner, I would recommend finding a more price-friendly restaurant somewhere else in St. John's (and there are tons which are very good!).

My husband and I went to Raymond’s last night. The Place was nice, cozy and service was great. However I was not impressed with the food itself especially for the price, it was disappointing as I’m such a foodie. First we started with a cheese and meat tray which was not too bad. We decided to do the 3 main courses. I had the Veg Pasta which I will say was really good, my husband had the moose Pasta which was ok. We then waited over an hour to get the main course which I had the Lobster and it was so tough, very buttery and creamy but it was over the top. My husband had the pork and you could see the blood in it before he even cut it, raw meat not so good so it definitely needed to be cooked more. For dessert I had Raspberry and my husband had partridgeberry and it was so disappointing. Just like you threw jam on a plate and served it. The 3 courses took about 3 hours which I found extremely long, we started at 7:50pm and let around 11pm. First time there and based on experience I would not be excited to return

We rate this as one of our top 3 dining experiences across Canada! Great local NL farm to table offerings (moose pasta app and lobster main- yum!) with well portioned courses. Very unique flavours and creative combinations. Extensive wine list (pairings also available) but took quite awhile to order any! Otherwise very attentive service. Elegant room with well spaced tables for privacy. Definitely a grand palate experience!

We had the 7 course tasting menu along with the paring wines and it was fabulous! Each dish was exquisite full of flavour carefully presented, the service was excellent the wines absolutely right on each dish and wine carefully described by the wait staff and sommelier. Far superior to similar experiences in Michelin star rated restaurants. We flew in specially to fine there, well worth it !

We did the wine pairing with the meal. It was excellent. The lamb and sherbet dessert was excellent. The veggie pasta was a little salty for my tastebuds. Great in house crackers and pickles.
Would recommend it to anyone for a special treat.

Awesome place and well deserving of its reputation..great wine pairings..they were also able to easily accommodate my friend who had shellfish allergies, which may not have been easy in a restaurant by the sea

It was our Birthday celebration dinner. We had the seven course tasting menu with wine pairing. Lobster was on the menu in two separate dishes but we asked to try the moose pasta so they changed our one of the lobster plates. The moose was great! It was all very good and the wines we an excellent match.
They brought our desserts with a Happy Birthday piped in chocolate on the plate with a candle on each. It was lovely!

Food was good but miserly in portions we had the five course, and portions were laughable in size for instance they served one scallop all dressed up but really one? A couple of slices of partridge not even enough for a good taste. For what you are paying they could at least give some value and not still be hungry when you leave. Overpriced and overhyped very disappointed

Fantastic food and service. The menu varies from day to day. Yesterday we had a delicious crab salad with lots of crab as an appetizer. The gnocchi that came with the halibut main was the best I've ever had. For dessert we enjoyed an assortment of partridgeberry variations including a sorbet.

This is no doubt the best romantic or special occasion restaurant in the City. The server was fantastic and the food as always was remarkable.
The recommended wine pairing was superb. I always look forward to eating here.
The prices are quite high but you get what you pay for. If the prices were a little lower I would probably eat there more often.

We found the reservation system including online menu to be outdated and a bit glitchy. The scallops and beef were truly outstanding. I ordered the carrot dessert because there used to be a superb carrot cake on the menu. The present carrot dessert was very disappointing, being "deconstructed", and consisting of a few raw carrot slices, a few tasty crumbs, and a tsp of ice cream. The dessert notwithstanding the overall experience, was excellent.

This was a first time special occasion treat to to wife and its something we have rarely done in the past . We loved the experience ,great servive ,very friendly, very professional, great food ,great presentation, and the wine pairing was just fantastic. We knew it would be expensive for our taste but we didn't mind this one time as the TIP was about the same as we would normally spend on an entire meal elsewhere.

There were 5 of us in our party and we’ve all previously dined at Raymond’s and enjoyed fantastic food and service however this most recent experience was anything but. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu and waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for our first course. They forgot the first course which was only discovered when they presented us with the second course. Upon recognizing the error our server took back the second course and made us wait another 20-25 mins for the first course to be brought out. Our server did make efforts to make up for the error and slow service but it was a frustrating and disappointing experience nonetheless. There were three courses either entirely off or at least partly consisting of white first. And in general we all felt the food was quite bland. We all felt the servers were all friendly. Considering the price tag associated with a meal at Raymonds the dinner was not at all worth. With that price tag one should expect consistently high quality service and exceptional tasting food. We won’t be heading back anytime soon.

Raymonds is a bucket list dining experience. Everything from the service, to wine, to food, was exceptional. The highlights of our 7 course tasting menu were the lamb tartare and moose pasta. I highly recommend the wine pairing offered with the tasting menus. Raymond’s is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
