overall3food5service1ambience5 Really disappointed about the poor service we received. We had ordered a gin and tonic it took roughly a half hour before it was served . When we tasted it it was clearly gin and soda water. We asked our server and she said she would check with the bar staff and sure enough we were told they had run out of tonic water and they thought it would be acceptable to replace it with soda water. Would have appreciated being asked instead of assuming. We sent it back luckily at no charge and asked for a beer instead . We were there at least 50 minutes before we got a drink and it was served with our starter. The fork we were provided had really bent tines and asked if we could have it replaced. Luckily one of the starters we had did not require a fork and we at least were able to eat it while it was still hot. We asked the server 3 times for a for and it was when we made a bit of a sarcastic remark before she brought to us that was when the main course arrived. The food was outstanding as always but the server needs a lesson in good customer service. I could expect delays when a place is busy but it was very quiet and no excuse for the poor service. The worst part is they expect a tip which you feel obliged to give. Perhaps North America should reconsider its tipping practice and do away with it completely especially when service is inadequate. - JL
