The place was very nice and quiet. The food was also excellent, and our server Megan was particularly attentive. I plan to come back here in future and highly recommend this restaurant to others.

we booked the restaurant because every other place was booked. I imagine the restaurant is fine, but we got there and was told they closed at 11am and would reopen at 4. None of this was listed on the site information. The food was fine, basic breakfast food. We might try again but frankly were disappointed at the idea of a Christmas brunch turned into an egg sandwich .

We went here because of a coworkers recommendation. The food was delicious. There was no one there though. It was very empty for a Saturday night. The waiter wasn’t very enthusiastic about serving us but I would go back. The food was worth it and it was affordable.

Don't let the fact that Relish is located in a hotel (Kensington hotel) stop you from trying this restaurant. I have dined here three times and have enjoyed my food every time. The Peach BBQ Chicken Flatbread is a favorite appetizer and serves 3 people easily. The Beef Short Ribs and the Meatloaf were given a 'thumbs' up' by my guests, along with the Atlantic Salmon. The menu changes seasonally. There is also a small, but respectable, wine list and dessert menu. BONUS: Because this restaurant is located near the expressway, and not downtown (10 mins. away), you can almost always get a table. A plus on graduation and football weekends as well as when other big events fill the city.

This particular visit to Relish, the service was very slow and the waiter was not very knowledgeable. After a long wait, our soup came first, followed only seconds later by our entree and bread. The food was excellent but we were disappointed by the service especially since the night before I was there and everything had been flawless. Shauna was our server that particular evening and I would say it was the perfect dining experience.

Good afternoon! Thank you for your feedback! I am so glad the food was enjoyable at each of your visits. I will admit I am disappointed to here our service was less consistent. I assure you your experience with Shauna is the level of service we are trying to instill in each and everyone of our staff members. I will follow up with the staff and ensure we improve from your feedback and remedy the situation that led to our misstep in your service. Thank you again and we hope to see you again soon.

We were happy to find Relish open on Christmas Day. After two days of family festivities, no one was in the mood to cook (or clean up). Our meal was good, and the service was excellent, especially given the fact it was a holiday.

We walked in.. No one at the hostess stand.. Waited 3-4 minutes Finally I think the busboy came over. He had no idea what Open Table was but he said some one would figure it out. We asked if we could sit in the bar. He said yes and that the bartender would be with us shortly. The bartender had 4 other people at the bar and there was one other person in the dining room. We waited 7 minutes.. Yes I timed it. The bartender fooled around with the TV and chatted with others at the bar. We tried to gt his attention and after a few more minutes we walked out. No one said one word to us after we were seated until we left.. Must not want our business

We have eaten here many times. This was our second brunch experience with Re-Lish. It wasn't quite as good as the first time. The place did not seem too busy yet the waitress did not have time to refill our coffee until we were finishing up to leave. the fruit section seemed to not get refilled on the buffet. And the syrup was in a metal picture you use for water so you couldn't see the syrup coming out in order to control the flow. I won't let one time effect all the times we ate here and loved it. We will be back.

Pretty disappointed. One other party of two in the restaurant and one server. He didn’t seem interested to be there or to serve us. Barely talked to us and short answers to questions we had. Food was ok but parsnips purée was lukewarm. The sourdough bites were the only thing worth mentioning.

The menu looked promising online, but the experience was pretty dismal. The host spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the menus, which were inexplicably packed tightly into envelopes, before seating us. The server seemed inexperienced and unaware of obvious things like ... we had *just* been seated, he had only just brought our waters (only three, even though there were four menus on the table, because there were only three of us seated since one of our party had gone to the restroom), and he asked right away if we were ready to order(!). They were out of two of the five red wines they offer by the bottle. We ordered two appetizers and 4 entrees. They brought two entrees out first. Five minutes later (!) they brought out the other entrees and the appetizers -- one of which was the wrong dish. At that point, we still hadn't gotten our 4th water. The duck fat fries were actually pretty tasty. Everything else was edible, but fair at best. The perch was pretty dry. The bourbon-maple glazed salmon was okay, but basically tasted like salmon with maple syrup. The chocolate syrup on the ice cream tasted cheap and a little odd. The 1/2 bottle of the Zin (15.9% alcohol) actually tasted pretty good after about 1/2 hour. Everything made a little more sense once we realized it was attached to an inexpensive hotel. It was like a cheap diner trying (but failing) to go upscale.

The Relish Kitchen is the kitchen for the whole hotel, and the staff serve the room service also, so service in the dining area is slow, especially at breakfast time. They did have a buffet that served essentially the same foods as were on the menu. There was a very heavy pour on the rum and coke and the tequila sunrise that we ordered, which my husband appreciated but I didn't. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience for both dinner and breakfast, even if the service was slow.

When I went there was no one else in the restaurant but I still sat there for a while waiting for a waitress. She must've been new and was polite, but not super friendly and didn't really know the menu well. I ordered the short ribs after confirming that they were bone-in and waited over 25 minutes for them to arrive, only to find that she put in the wrong order and I received barbecue baby back ribs. She seemed confused when I pointed this out and went back to the kitchen to re-order my meal, but then the manager did come out and offered a free dessert which was nice. Then my short ribs came out and they were not bone in, they were slices of beef despite my asking specifically about this. They did taste good though, which is why I am giving them 3 stars instead of 2

We were the only diners in the restaurant from our arrival at 6pm until 7pm! We were concerned the kitchen wouldn't have food prep "at the ready" but we were wrong! The salmon, ribs, and white fish were pleasantly prepared as were our accompaniments. May I suggest that you give this restaurant a chance? Nevermind that it's connected to the Kensington Hotel - give it a try! I'd go back!

I'm not big on restaurants that are located adjacent to hotels but Relish was outstanding. The menu had a farm to table feel with very reasonable prices. Being gluten free always makes things tough but not in this case! So many options! The salmon was outstanding and normally I can't stand salmon. My husband had chicken smothered in a cream sauce he said was amazing. We ordered a drink called the Trouble Maker; a must try! Great staff and great food! We will go back again.

The menu sounds good and had gotten a lot of good reviews but we never got a chance. We had taken my mother in law there for Mother’s Day. When we got there there were only 2 other people in the whole restaurant, but still we didn’t see our server till about 20 min after we sat down. Then he took our order and then disappeared for another 30 min. After sitting at the table for an hour we didn’t even have appetizers and no one had stopped by to tell us what was going on, or to apologize for the wait. We ended up leaving and just paying for the drinks which we barely got. And even at that point there was no apology and no attempt to fetus to return or anything.

Discovered it is a hotel restaurant when we arrived. Based on that everything about it exceeded our expectations. Service was exceptionally attentive and friendly, very good menu of lighter options (perfect for the 4 of us), and the food was exceptional all around. Great, quiet, quality local place, especially for travelers. We’ll return next time we’re in that part of Ann Arbor.

Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had 3 different entres at the table. So go if you need a tasty quick meal but its not a place to make an evening out of.

I’ve been to Re-lish several times, and the service was ok because the place wasn’t busy. It was busy last night, & they really couldn’t handle it. The food was very slow to come out. When I asked the server when our dinner would be ready, she said they were busy. There were only 5 occupied tables (about half), but it never occurred to them to update diners about the delays. I had to find the server to ask her for an update. After all the waiting, the food was so so.

Attached to hotel, the waiting area smells like the pool. The dining area is very small. The wait staff was new and could not answer questions on the menu, (some answers were just wrong). They seemed stretched thin but were not full. (on Valentines day at 6:30pm). Food took a while to arrive but was good. The meals are upscale in appearance (good presentation). Very convenient to the mall.

This was my first time to visit Relish, the menu is small but it was great to see so much is locally sourced. The food turned out to be pretty good and I will probably be back. I had two issues, the first is the noise level, there was a party going on in the bar area and the noise was overwhelming in the restaurant because there is only a half wall between them. There were kids in the dining area and the party was loud and raunchy. They really should address this. The second was our waiter didn't seem like he wanted to be there. He was fairly attentive but I don't think he smiled once. I am going to chalk that up to how obnoxious the party-goers were being. Hopefully our next visit will be more peaceful.

We enjoyed our food for Restaurant Week but were dismayed that the reservations we made two weeks ago, (2 for $25) were incorrect and the price was increased to $25. each. Also, waitress attire, tee shirt and jeans, does not fit the atmosphere you are trying to create. Our party of four did thoroughly enjoy our Beef tenderloin dinners and also the sausage and goat cheese on flatbread.
