On the dinner menu at Restaurant 62, you'll have excellent choices like the Yarrow meadow duck breast, Pacific sole and Fraser Valley pork chop from which to pick. If you stick around for dessert, there are great selections like the dark chocolate tart for you to try.
Fantastic restaurant. Food is really good, service is excellent and the room is beautiful. Overall always a great dining experience.
Our first visit at the new location. Great space. Great vibe. We much prefer it to the previous location.
A wonderful lunch spot for girlfriends or business. Today it was the ladies. Great lunch menu although I can never get past the tiger prawns and quinoa salad, it is delicious!! One of these days I will try that burger though, or maybe the pasta or ? Service is always impeccable and the server we had was very helpful with menu selection and was attentive throughout the meal without hovering or being annoying. I love the bright new location- still very elegant with a slightly more hip edge. Will definitely return. My friends hadn’t been in for years and also loved everything about R62.
Always enjoy our time here both for the food and the service.
My wife put it best. It was the best restaurant experience we have ever had. Perfect in every way. Thanks Jeff and everyone else!
The food was not worth what they charged definitely not a five star
I had the short ribs which was the special and my husband had the strip loin, both dishes were delicious. We also had the feature salad, greens with goat cheese Brie and pears which was very tasty.
Love this restaurant all the time ! Decide on something on menu and then always go with the special ! They are that amazing .
Food was amazing!!
Service was amazing except they were out of four things that we had requested
The food was excellent. The wine choices were amazing and pages to select from. Our server Andrea was the best and wherever she works we will follow!
Food was very very good. The service was a tad slow BUT we were in no hurry and they had two big Christmas groups in at the same time. It was excellent.
We had a wonderful experience, the only thing I would change is to not be seated right beside the kitchen as it was very hot.
Went through 5 wine options as listed on the menue
Food was good and good quality. Service was decent but our server had to be prompted to tell us about the featured dishes. The noise level was the real let down, it was definitely a lot less intimate than the old location.
Restaurant 62 is a very special place to enjoy a homemade meal in the company of great friends. It is always such a treat to dine there. I am delighted by the quality of food, service level and attention to detail. Their new location is modern and beautiful. It suits their menu very well. Thank you!
Although when asked we said our meal was good, I guess we didn’t want to make a fuss. Our meal wasn’t great. One of us had the Yarrow Duck Brest, there was zero flavour. I had the Maple Hill chicken breast, the chicken was dry and no flavour. The mushrooms however were amazing. My husband had the BC Strip Loin, that was tasty.
The food, warm atmosphere, and service was amazing. Chris Brown was knowledgeable and personable, and enriched the experience at Restaurant 62. Will definitely go again.
Went in to celebrate with my mom. We both had a dessert and a glass of sparkling wine. The desserts were great and so was the wine. Service was amazing and will be coming back again.
Definitely a step up. Impressive setting, what a great new location!!!
My husband and I have eaten here several times. I love the new location, especially the high ceilings and all of the windows..very modern.
I had the Snapper special and my husband had the Water Buffalo. Our meals were outstanding. The Pain Perdu was one of the best chocolate desserts we have ever eaten. Service was a 10 from start to finish.
Went to 62 for dinner on Tuesday night. The restaurant has relocated across the parking lot. It is a more open space and still has an open kitchen. I miss the linens on the table as they seem to have moved to a more casual atmosphere. The restaurant was about 1/2 full when we arrived at 7:15 p.m. I started with crab bisque, partner had pork belly. The bisque was a bit thin but had good crabby flavour and the succotash it was served with complemented the flavor of the broth. The pork belly was properly rendered and delicious. We followed this with the pork chop and the shortrib. Portions very generous and excellently cooked. Very good. No room for dessert! The service was good without being outstanding. A very enjoyable evening and would definitely return. It is our go-to local place for a special dinner.
The new location is great. The food was great. Would have been nice to have some more vegetarian options.
Food was absolutely fabulous! We had a table of six for a business dinner and every single one of us had a phenomenal meal. I had the brisket and it was ridiculously flavorful and tender. The desserts were also amazing. There was not a part of this meal that was lacking.
The decor is beautiful and updated but the restaurant is a little loud, making business discussion difficult.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return.
Amazing food and very nice and friendly staff! Service was the best and the food is something you will definitely go back for!
The food was excellent, service was good. There is not a lot of ambiance and with the exposed concrete floors and exposed steel joists and roof decking (i get the desire dor a slightly industral look) together with a fairly open seating concept, it gets very noisy. Generally a good restaurant
We had a nice evening celebrating our sons engagement, love the new culture and atmosphere since their relocate. Great food, more relaxed, will go back and hang at the bar for a different evening experience soon!
Love the new site and decoration. Service is excellent
This restaurant has been our go to for special occassions and dinner out with friends. Since the new location opened, we have really enjoyed the ambience but the food qaulity and service have been inconsistent and lacking.
On our first visit, there seemed to be a shortage of service personnel and the bartender waited on our table. He never came back to see how the food was until he picked up our plates. I found the potato side to be cold in the center and while he apologized he didn't offer to mitigate. We did not get a starter bread and hummous which we later learned is served without charge entrees are ordered.
On this visit we made a reservation and didn't find out until we arrived that it was happy hour and the regular menu was not available. The food was okay but not special and the service was very dissappointing. The server did not accurately represent the menu. We asked about the cornbread cake dessert and she said it came with a bit of icecream. When she brought it to the table she said it was topped with chantilly cream. However the menu said it was whipped yogurt. It was two small pieces of cornbread with somewhat dry blueberries and priced at $9 was extremely poor value.
On another note, the Open Table app only shows high top seating available, it doesn't matter what time or day you select. The only high top seating is in the bar area. When I mentioned this to the hostess, she said it was because we chose a reservation time during happy hour.
This restaurant is going to have to step up their game if they're going to keep the nice new location filled with happy customers.
Open Table provided an old menu. And also did not tell us important information about Restaurant 62: that it's ONLY a small happy hour menu until 5 p.m. The dinner menu and specials aren't available until 5 p.m.
We would have made a later reservation if we had known.
We experienced amazing local cuisine and artistic presentation
Abbotsford in general lacks in fine dining establishments. I had never tried Restaurant 62 but I had received mixed reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately my experience fell far short of my expectations. I ordered the duck breast and my meal was good, but it was not as flavorful as it could have been. The skin should have been a bit more crispy and the sauce was a bit bland. My wife had the chicken which didn’t provide much detail in the menu description and it to was bland according to her as I did not taste her meal. I took her there for her birthday and it was an all around disappointment as they have tried to stuff as many tables as possible in a small space. I couldn’t even hold a conversation without having to lean over the table to speak to my wife. I had to drink part of her water as my water glass was never refilled and at the end of the meal we had to wait an inordinate amount of time because the waiter said they only had one machine to process the payment as the other one had been down for some time. I guess I will have to stick with some of my other choices which have been consistent.
The restaurant was very relaxing and warm. Our servers looked after us well. The salmon special was amazing. I would definitely visit again.
They have moved to a new location with totally different vibe. The old place was cosy and romantic while the new place just feels like a pub. The food is probably just as good but it is not the same experience with noisy diners driving up the decibels. I am sure it is bringing in more money than the original but I wouldn’t go again
Deliciously prepared local ingredients! Will be back!
I don't like the ambience of the new location. It is more casual with no table cloths, a painted concrete floor, and a lot of high top tables and bar seating. Many of the low top tables share a continuous bench seat along the wall, this means other couples are going to be seated uncomfortably close. With tax and tip a main course is around $50, so the pricing implies an upscale interior. It will definitely appeal to a different crowd than the prior location. The food is very good, but considering the price we both had some level of disappointment. My gf's duck was excellent per the photos by others, but the bed (risotto???) was too salty to finish. My lamb was of high quality and cooked perfectly, but they put crunchy chick peas in with the medley which I didn't like, it was like they dumped an airline snack into it.
Compared to a chain restaurant or pub the service is very good, but I have definitely had better in this price range, albeit not in Abbotsford.
They do have excellent quality cocktails here, figure on $13 each with tax and tip ($10-$11 menu price).
The old location was my go to about twice a year for a decade when my wife and I wanted an upscale experience in an intimate setting and with excellent food without a trip to downtown Vancouver. That won't be happening anymore.
Restaurant 62 is now off the radar for special occasions and date nights for us. I would meet friends here for casual dining, but I don't think many will want to pay the food prices so that probably won't happen. We will probably give the outdoor tables a try next year when the warm weather returns if they allow reservations of these specific tables. I am skeptical the move down market to a more casual experience will support the food price point.
Been here before but this was not my best experience, food was not the quality I had come to expect.
Our meals were good but our friend did not care for his lamb. It had no taste. Told server and he took it back but still had no taste
Both the food and ambiance were awesome. We were three of us. We had ordered Kale Salad and Pork belly for appetizers. The entrees were Pork chops, Maple Hill chicken breast and Beef strip-loin. All dishes were excellent and the serving size was good. We had to pack unfinished food. I will go again and again.
We booked here to celebrate my birthday and our first server seemed to have disappeared so our service was not the best but another lady started looking after us. Overall food was good! We were right next to the kitchen so it was quite loud & hot from the heat lamps. Love the new renovations!
All good except tables for two are too close and everyone’s conversations are heard - need more separation
