A family owned business since 1971, Restaurant Di Menna was a
simple pizzeria offering delivery service and takeout. The popularity of
the pizza place was undeniable, and founder Franco Di Menna
decided to expand his business next door: the pizzeria now had a
dining room. Evolving in the tasteful world of Italian cuisine, Franco Di
Menna kept trying new recipes and creating delicious meals. In 1988,
the restaurant went under major renovations to match its high quality
menu. Already mixing fine dining and takeout, Restaurant Di Menna
introduced frozen ‘oven ready’ meals and fresh sauces in 2005. Fast forward
to 2016, the dining room was completely renovated and a sit-down
bar serving specialty cocktails and Italian beers was added.

I can’t believe I spent 400 hundred dollars for the worst meal ever. Italian restaurant that can’t make a pasta. The sauce was so pasty the worst past ever. The food was the worst ever. I promise I will never go back.

It was generally nice, although , we were there on Mother’s Day , there’s was not an acknowledgment nor a special flower 🌸 to any of the mothers there ! Found waiter was very rushed, but it wasn’t busy , no real charm ,

A neighbourhood gem. My friends and I have had our last Christmas season dinner here the last 2 years and loved it. Service is absolutely outstanding: friendly, fast, and outgoing. Emily brought an extra chair for my sprained ankle to rest on, took photos for us, etc. Most of us went with the table d'hote. We started with complimentary bruschetta and hot crusty rolls. The appetizers were the standout, especially the arancini and fried calamari. Salads were dressed with a tasty, simple dressing but perhaps slightly overdressed. Mains were largely successful: generous portions on the beef short rib, grilled chicken salad, and tortellini. For me, the one miss was the gnocchi: quite heavy and bland served with a simple tomato sauce - I got the impression they were either not home-made, or cooked from frozen. We mostly had a refreshing sorbetto for dessert and good strong coffee. The manager with whom I booked the reservation actually left a note to the server to send us a round of free digestifs after the meal, as a thank-you and as a way to make up for an oversight on Open Table's part actually. We gratefully accepted them. It was a nice casual dinner, perfect for catching up with good friends.

We enjoyed our family Christmas dinner. A little frustrated by waitress asking which language qe prefer to be served in only for her to continue in French. But would still return, food was very good. Nice place to relax and chat between meals, they aren't in a hurry to kick you out.

The outside of the restaurant has barely changed since 1977, the last time I was there. It seems that the restaurant space has shrunk. The pizza was excellent. The service very attentive. The price of food (25$ for a large pizza all dress) and 35$ for a bottle Chianti seemed to me quite reasonable. The only downside, the kid on the adjacent table did not stop screaming the whole time, and the parents did Nothing to tone him down. Worst, the father kept teasing him which in no way helped the situation. We left the restaurant much earlier than we would have like because of this unpleasant situation. I will come back but I hope this time to find a more quiet place! JF
