We made are choices from the ala carte menu and they didn't disappoint. The signature dish, duck egg, was delicious, and the story behind it was even better. What a wonderful evening.

Je dois dire que pour le stationnement il y a un important problème . Aucune dispo donc stationner dans la complète noirceur sur un chemin de boue à plus de 100m de distance . Allée très étroite avec des véhicules de chaque côté . On ne peux pas rencontrer de véhicule j’ai du reculer à la noirceur avec peu d’espace afin de laisser une auto passer . Nourriture très bonne excellent service . Le coût des bouteilles de vins est cependant élevé. Bien que je m’y attendais!

We enjoyed a leisurely meal that included expert service and food that was prepared by a very talented chef. My party enjoyed the pasta, fish, and duck entrees from the table d’hote menu. The squid ink pasta with scallops was exceptional as well as the duck. The appetizers, risotto and salad were flavorful and the desert and cheeses sampled were delightful. A special mention for our servers and bartender who were attentive knowledgeable and friendly. One of the best espresso martinis that I have enjoyed!

Bonjour Nous y avons vécu la plus belle expérience culinaire. Tout était parfait: accueil, service, ambiance, présentation des assiettes et évidemment l’excellence des mets du terroir. Votre pain était à la hauteur de sa réputation. Ma conjointe qui a la maladie cœliaque mangeait en toute confiance puisque le personnel était bien au fait des particularités de l’allergie au gluten. Elle pouvait manger la majorité des plats offerts sur la table d’hôte. Nous avons apprécié le petit brin de jasette avec le chef qui s’est donné la peine de nous visiter à notre table. Merci pour cette belle expérience!

J'aurais aimé que l’on vérifie ma facture je crois qu ’'ils se sont trompés. A ce prix pour 3 personnes .....et un buffet de 75$ par personne et ça te coûte plus de 700$

Just OK at very high prices. Service not great at all, a little pretentious, lacks joy. Beautiful spot and decor! Given the hype and reviews and the requirement to put a deposit down to make a reservation, I expected much better. I had the Hatley Salad as a main course. The bacon appeared uncooked (and I felt a little ill afterward so maybe?), the dressing was only on the bottom of the salad, the romaine had brown wilt marks on the stems, and the overall impression was of a VERY plain salad with about $5 worth of ingredients. Befitting Applebee's, not Michelin. My wife had the hamburger with the long, enticing (dry-aged etc) description. It tasted a lot like Burger King's flame broiling, but drier and not as good. While I am empathetic to how difficult it must be to run a renowned hotel restaurant in rural Quebec in the post-Covid world, and I am rooting for them, I sadly can not recommend this place to a reader as it stands now. I hope that it will improve to the level of its ambience and online reviews.

C'est notre deuxième visite depuis l'arrivée d'Alexandre Vachon aux cuisines. La première, en août 2022, fut parfaite de l'entrée au dessert, d'ailleurs absolument spectaculaires. Cette fois-ci, nous ressortons un peu déçus. Bien que les entrées et les plats principaux aient été à la hauteur de nos attentes et de nos souvenirs, les desserts étaient insignifiants. C'est dommage, car cela termine mal un repas par ailleurs délicieux. Une formule au prix élevé exige que tout soit parfait. Par ailleurs, j'ai l'impression que certains de vos serveurs novices auront besoin d'un bon coaching pour savoir comment agir avec la clientèle ; leurs attitudes ampoulées n'aideront en rien à maintenir l'excellente réputation de votre établissement. Bravo tout de même à la sommelière qui fait un excellent travail. Y retournerons-nous l’an prochain ?

We opted for the tasting menu, and every dish was excellent. We also opted for the 'classic' wine pairings, and the somelier provided detailed insights as to how the wine complemented each dish. Service was excellent throughout, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. That being said, inflation has effectively put the menu degustation out of reach for the next few years! I have been visiting Hovey Manor for at least 30 years, but will now be going less often.

Très bel endroit, malheureusement seulement quelques tables près des fenêtres avec la vue. Les mises en bouche, entrées et mignardises étaient délicieuses mais nous avons moins aimé les plats principaux et desserts. Le sommelier nous a très bien conseillé. L’ensemble de notre expérience était à la hauteur de nos attentes.
