In 1993, Toqué! opened featuring local produce: a showcase for Quebec's terroir and its suppliers. The ongoing contributions of these artisans is no less important today. I had dinner here by myself on a business trip 6 years ago on the recommendation from a "Foodie" from Montreal. After providing a list of 4 top restaurants she said that Toque! was by far the best. I convinced my husband that we had to go there for our 25th anniversary. I was a little apprehensive at having remembered it one way and 6 years later turning out completely different. I am so glad we made the trip. It was incredible again, the blends of the different flavors of food that have to mix in your mouth to be fully appreciated, is just out of this world. And as always, the wine pairings are so top notch. Can not sing the praise more. I have dreamed of going back for the full experience, and now that I have done it, I was not disappointed. If I lived closer, I would be there more often...

The food was great, big portions for a tasting menu, flavours creative using high quality local ingredients. But, for a restaurant of this calibre, the service could have been better. We were sat down for around 10 minutes before anyone came over to attend to us, including for the basic water service. It was a lengthy dinner lasting 3.5 hours.

Well developed flavor structure of most meals. The tasting menu started off light, with sushi grade fish. It then progressed to foie gras, to finish with cooked yellowfin belly, and finally duck breast. The last three were the most memorable. Two desserts were light but complex. Very happy with the food.

Incredible meal. Exceptional service with unobtrusive attention to every detail. Our servers were wonderful- friendly, efficient and incredibly knowledgeable regarding both the food and the wine. I would chose this restaurant for a special occasion as it is both exceptional, very worth the expense for that special celebration or other important event but expensive.

As a Michelin Star restaurant hobbyist, I was very disappointed with this culinary experience. Let’s start with a review of the food. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu.

First, the presentation was beautiful and the exotic mix of flavors, textures, and ingredients were exciting. However, on the palate, they failed to invoke balance and flavor on the tastebuds. The mix of flavors were simply underwhelming. Second, the tasting menu didn’t seem carefully planned. The tasting menu had two tuna dishes - one sashimi style and one tuna belly. Would you put two chicken dishes on a 7 course tasting menu? Also, the tuna belly was served just before the venison and venison tongue. Those are two very strong, gamey dishes with no palette cleanser in between. It seemed too much and too conflicting that you couldn’t appreciate either, particularly in that order. Third, while I love tuna belly, especially raw, this dish was one of the fishiest tuna belly’s we’ve ever had. Also, world famous chef, David Bouley, makes a venison that tastes like filet mignon. This venison was extremely gamey in my opinion. Finally, I couldn’t even finish the first dessert. The sorbet was bitter and the mix of cranberry and goat simply didn’t feel like a dessert. Did I mention that the bread was as stale as can be?!?!

I gave staff’s Service 2 stars because, although most staff were friendly and attentive, our waiter was quite terrible. It took him 20 minutes just to give us a menu, and 40 minutes to give me a black napkin that was available on request as seen on the menu. Overall, he was forgetful, not communicative, and not very attentive. He just seemed tired and lazy.

This was our first visit to Toqué. It came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We did the 7-course tasting menu. The courses were very creative and covered a wide range of flavors and ingredients. Everything we had was delicious and they did a nice job of modifying certain dishes or offering an alternative dish for my girlfriend, who is lactose intolerant. Portions were more generous then my experience with most tasting menus. If you are adventurous and a foodie, this is the place to try for a real experience.

Pas ma première visite chez Toqué. Mon amoureux m’avait offert un certificat cadeau de 350$ et nous étions conscient que nous allions débourser en plus (très correct).
Nous avons pris le menu dégustation avec vin (7). Malgré une très belle expérience, il est clair qu’a 600$ (valeur totale de la soirée) nous n’y retournerons pas et je ne peux recommander à personne.
Je veux bien débourser pour un repas de qualité et une expérience mais 600$ est indécent.
Pass justifié ...aucun sens

Nous avons pris le menu dégustation. Franchement, je m'attendais à plus surtout pour le prix. Certains plats étaient très bon mais pas tous. Le pain était froid et sec. Le service était bon. Beaucoup aimé l'utilisation de produits locaux.

Je ne me rappel pas du serveur, mais il nous a donner un service impeccable.
Même chose pour les personnes qui viennent nous porter et présenter les plats.
Le seul point négatif est le manque d'ambiance, mais j'imagine que ce n'est pas ce que vous recherchez.
Éclairage trop lumineux et il manque une petite musique d'ambiance.

Very disapointing experience, 3hrs for a starter, a main course and a desert. Cocktails served without any amuse-nouche. Actually we had nothing to eat more than an hour after being seated. Concerning the food good ingredients but not very tasty...

The food was excellent!!! The service was also excellent. The only complaint was the time between courses. We were at our table for more than 3 hours. About 30 minutes between each course serving. 10 to 15 minutes would have been plenty.

This was a splurge but it was well worth it. The rack of suckling pig was delicious, and the waiter recommended a great wine that was new to me and that I hope I can now find in the U.S.!

I found this restaurant last year online. Whenever I travel I like to have one nice dinner in the city I am visiting. I didn’t know what to expect
We had the tasting menu just like last year. Our favourite was the tuna tartar. Chef uses combinations I would never think would go together, but it works.
Dessert was better last year.
We were celebrating our anniversary.

We came here for a birthday dinner with a group of four. Both the food and the service were outstanding. We went with the tasting menu, which was expensive but mostly worth it. The staff was incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable (e.g., about the wines).

The food was amazing second to none. The service was far far too long. We were seated at 6:30pm and were served our dessert at 11:00. We often do tasting menus. But none that have taken 4.5 hours for two people. The drag between courses was over 30 minutes which didn’t keep the experience moving.

Mon conjoint et moi sommes allés manger au Toqué, pour l'occasion de mon 60ème anniversaire de naissance. Les vins accompagnait à merveille nos 7 plats du menus de dégustation. Nous avons apprécié se faire raconter, à table, l'histoire de chaque vins que nous avons gouté. Nous sommes restés à table pendant 4h30 car c'était un plaisir pour les yeux et pour le goût ! En plus, nous avons eu droit à des attentions spéciales de la part de la maison. Je recommande ce restaurant pour vivre une expérience mémorable !!!

We were on vacation and looking for a great food destination - we did the 7 course tasting menu with the 5 course premier wine tasting. The wines were delicious and very nicely prepared, the food was very good but I can't give it 5 stars.

C'est un restaurant de grande classe, au même niveau que les meilleurs restaurants de New York, Chicago ou Paris. Aller manger chez Toqué est une expérience que tous devraient vivre au moins une fois dans sa vie.
