Retrogusto is a pizzeria and bar that brings some much needed excitement to the north end of Preston street. We serve a Roman style pizza "Tonda", traditional roman fried snacks, salumi, cheeses and other small plates. Our food will be complimented by a small wine list that will be in constant rotation, strictly Italian classic cocktails, and beautiful amaro's from around Italy. The warm, cozy, dimly lit dining room with an open kitchen will be the perfect place to do the only thing that matters; eat good food, drink good wine and have a good time with friends.

Retro is always the right call and vibe, no matter the occasion. Birthday dinner? Do it. Catching up with a friend? It's the place to be. I love their Italian cocktails and every appetizer on the menu is great. Sometimes I'm almost tempted to skip pizza just to eat more of apps. The pizza is great and I love the at hot honey is already ready and waiting on the table for you. Ottawa is lucky to have a local spot like it. Go to Retro Gusto.

The pizza of the day, white pizza with fresh figs, was inspired — drizzling table-side with real balsamic was a nice touch. Everything we tried — supplì, crocchette di melanzane, the house Caesar salad, pizza with salami — was delicious and made with care and attention. Don’t miss the tiramisù: a very silky version.

Great spot, good vibe. Lasagna frita was tasty and the Caesar salad was fantastic and not your basic boring version. Pizzas were very good with thin crispy crust.

We had the funghi pizza and the the Nduja. The Nduja didn't have the yellow tomatoes sauce and it was just okay. Not worth 30 dollars. The funghi pizza was better. Service was alright. Our server was nice, but didn't help when we pointed out that there wasn't any sauce on the pizza. It's a very expensive place and it was just okay. We were unfortunately disappointed.

Really great experience, our first time, shared the risotto croquettes (3)which were delicious and we had each à pizza, salamino and one zucchine, quite different but both delicious . Nice wines and cocktails. We will be back Great vibe and the staff are very pleasant

* We really enjoyed our meal: we ordered three apps for two people & it was the perfect amount. Eggplant, lasagna frito & arancini were well prepared. * The room had good energy & buzz * Our server was knowledgeable & personable * However: * Upon entering at the booked reservation time the floor manager greeted us & after confirming our reservation said our table would be ready in a few minutes. We thought that's fine, they had to clear and prep it. After a few minutes she escorts us to a table that had been ready since the moment we walked into the restaurant. Very strange tactic. * Why are the wines by the glass not listed on the menu ? * Why in the summer would the sommelier elect to have 9 reds, 5 whites, no orange & no Prosecco on the menu ? * And please charge me more per dish (I will gladly pay it) to have a decent linen napkin. I know the place wants a casual vibe but the current napkins are clearly inferior.

Great spot! I had an areo cocktail that was delicious, my partner got a sour beer. I had the berartta pizza and he got something that was more typical. Both were really good. Service was excellent and vibe was cool!

Cocktails = A+ Caesar Salad = A+ Pizza = B (the pizza arrived a bit soggy. It still tasted great, but there seemed to droop and left moisture on the plate. Again - tasted good, but i would have prefered a drier pie).

Food and service were great! Only issue was we had to wait a good 40 minutes for our pizzas. They burned one and had to remake. It wasn’t really busy and people who came in after us were done eating before ours appeared.

After a number of visits to Resto Gusto, we are still impressed with the overall experience. From the impeccable service by a very knowledgeable server to the consistently delicious food, it has not yet disappointed. Definitely a "go-to" place when you want a lovely evening!

A pizza place like no other in Ottawa. Gourmet pizzas following Italian tradition, simple but wonderfully delicious. They also have starters and anti-pasti which reflect cuisine in Italy. Very good wine list. The service was excellent with a very helpful and well informed server, who made our dining experience a pleasure
