Ricarda's Ratings and Reviews
Table of 6 total $900. The service was great. The restaurant beautiful. Love the washrooms etc. negative: Some of the appetizers and sides were quite small for the price. Appetizer salmon $20 for 4 tiny pieces of salmon hidden amongst frisée salad and a few sliced beets is really not worth it. The One side dish that comes with shared meals comes served in a little bowl. It wasn’t enough food and didn’t present well stuffed into a tiny dish. Good thing 2-6 people had small appetites.
Very friendly, attentive service and quality food. I like that they change up their menu once in a while. Cocktails are a bit on the pricey side but good.
My friend and I attended the Jazz Brunch and loved the food and ambiance at Ricarda's. The customer service, however, was the best part of our experience. All the staff we interacted with from the hostess, to the waiters, to the staff at the various food stations, were lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. As soon as the staff learned of our dietary restrictions (religious), they offered to help us by preparing our food using separate utensils, checking ingredients in their desserts with the pastry chefs, and even going as far as to make us our very own flat bread (which I highly recommend) so we could enjoy what the restaurant had to offer without worry. We loved our time at Ricarda's so much we are coming back in a couple of weeks for breakfast with 5 of our other friends :)
lovely service, lovely food, fantastic restaurant. Ricarda's is definitely a Torontonian gem!
Great place for brunch!
Had a great time on my bday
Outstanding restaurant, great food and excellent service. Be sure to ask Ricarda’s very knowledgeable sommelier Alain about the impressive wine list.
Lovely meal! Food was a little slow to come out - we had to remind our waiter a couple of times and our sides were forgotten. Other than that, great experience! The ambience was great, the music, the quality of the food - and the manager/owner was very knowledgeable about wine and provided a great selection from his off the menu reserve. Overall, amazing - I’ll be back!
Terrible service, overpriced and mediocre food .
This is one of my favourite restaurants. I make it a point to bring friends or clients for lunch or dinner. Such a creative menu with well-prepared dishes and always a welcoming friendly and competent staff. Excellence and attractive ambiance and design as well.
and leave room for amazing desserts!
There was miscommunication between the server and the hostess re: ordering of several dessert orders for take-out for a surprise occasion back at the office. And the servers brought out all the desserts and claimed they did not know. Disappointed that the surprise for our co-worker was ruined.
Also, servers brought the meals over our shoulders in the booth, which was strange, as it could've gone badly and spilled all over our work attire. They should have known to walk around to serve the dishes directly to the table, instead they made us carry our own dishes above and over our shoulders awkwardly onto the table.
Underwhelming at best. Food was tasteless. Service was ok.
I have heard so much about this place and was excited to try it! The service however was horrible. We wanted to sit by the window and the server roller her eyes at us because we were 3 ppl and the table the hostes offered us was for 5 ppl. The food was ok, the “homemade” focaccia was so hard, it might as well have been called crostini. I ordered shakshuka and it was fried eggs with some tomato paste on top. I wouldn’t go there again.
Very beautiful place! Great service! Portions were a bit small for the price and food taste was average
Great meal, music was a bit loud, but was very good. Amazing service.
I went to Ricarda’s with my family for my sister’s 26th birthday. We all loved the food and the ambiance of the restaurant! The service was outstanding - our waiter was super attentive and the General Manager engaged us in conversation and ensured that we had a really special birthday celebration. We took advantage of the 50% off house wine Social Hour special (Monday to Friday from 4-7pm) and ordered off of the tapas menu and the regular dinner menu. We all had a great time! I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food, attentive service, live music and a unique restaurant design/ambiance!
It was pretty good but the sun was really bright and was in our eyes so we had to move around the table to avoid it before the staff finally pulled down the blinds
Server didn't realize our order had not been delivered, not very helpful on recommendations...seemed more interested in getting the order in than what we were ordering. Noisy, hard to carry on a conversation. But, sommelier was very helpful.
Food was amazing! Very eclectic menu. Live music on Thursday night was nice surprise. Server was very good but food took a long time. Definitely worth the wait though. Will definitely go back😀👌🏻
Very cool, modern place with interesting varied menu. Enjoyed the dishes we had plus nice bread basket, yummy desserts.i will return!mm
Love this place- great environment, great food, lovely staff!
Weekday lunch (Tuesday) the place was fairly quiet - not too much noise. The table (marble top ) was immaculately set. We got menus and water promptly. My wife asked about their herbal tea selection and the waitress provided a small wooden case with scenting samples to smell. My wife loved her tea selection. The waitress did not pressure us for menu choices as one of our friends was a few minutes late. Once ordered food was prepared as we requested, everyone got what they ordered. The two guests who selected fish as a main course both raved about the freshess and preparation. The rest chose variations of burgers with shoe-string fries. The fries were very well prepared. All the burgers were juicy and very tastey. we lounged around after the meal with no pressure to leave and had a relaxed afternoon there. I will recommend Ricarda's to my friends if they should happen to be in the area. Subway stop is less than 10 minutes away and it is in the downtown core.
Absolutely loved the food and the ambience! Went there for breakfast but will be back for lunch or dinner also.
I rarely write a review but this place had AMAZING food and service. Live music was a nice surprise and also exceptional! Great birthday evening.
Very good and creative food, a bit on the expensive side. Ambience more suited for lunch or evening bar (very loud).
Husbands birthday dinner with just is 2
Food was fabulous. Love the space. Service was great until we needed to go. I think we were forgotten for a while. Regardless, I'll be back.
This was my second visit to Ricarda's. The first time was fantastic - my husband and I stumbled across the place and had a lovely Sunday brunch.
This time we organised a larger group to combine for a birthday. Overall the visit was great and everyone had a good time.
The food quality is exceptional. There wasn't quite as much variety, especially with the salads and vegie options this time around, but I suspect that does change seasonally.
The service was outstanding on both visits. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite.
Our one disappointment with this visit is that a) there were many hoops to jump through to book and confirm and confirm again the large group booking and b) that at no point in the 4 - 5 interactions that I had with staff to book, confirm and double confirm did anyone ask where in the restaurant we wanted to be seated.
This meant we were disappointed to find out on our arrival that we seated in a section of the restaurant we didn't even know existed and we really couldn't hear the live jazz band we had come in specifically to enjoy.
That said, we still had a lovely time with great service by Graham. We were able to move tables about 2 hours into the meal which was nice. (We stayed for about 4 hours for a long, lazy brunch - it really is a great atmosphere and we found it to be good value too.)
These two issues could be easily fixed by including sections for both the credit card details and
requests for the location of one's table in the restaurant in the online booking form. It would make it more seamless and ensure that all the essential information was gathered in one interaction, which would be more efficient and save a flurry of emails and calls at the last minute. It would also prevent customer's being disappointed by table location.
Other than that we had no hesitation to recommend Ricarda's and would return again.
Had such a lovely/delicious brunch+bottomless mimosas. The spread is incredible and the service is beyond friendly and courteous. There was even live jazz. It's a perfect spot for a small or large group...adults and kid-friendly--bring everyone, they'll love it!
We always enjoy going to Richard’s for special occasions. My husband and I have gone a few times for date night. Once I took a group of 12 from New York there for a birthday dinner and they absolutely loved it and enjoyed the food. For my Husbands birthday we stopped in for drinks and listened to a live band and had such a great time celebrating. This weekend we went for the Sunday brunch. Everything we tried was good with the made to order eggs Benedict to the pasta. Actually the pasta was excellent, we had it with the rose sauce, shrimp, spinach and mushrooms. So good! The flatbread station was good too. I could pass on the omelette station...plus the seafood station was quite small and oysters weren’t meaty. Despite this, we aren’t deterred from coming back. The staff at ricarda’s has always been accommodating and pleasant which makes any occasion feel like a special one.
Hitting on all cylinders
Had the best dining experience with my 3 friends for dinner. The service was beyond excellent. They were very nice and answered all our weird questions about the menu. The ambiance was also great - had a jazz band playing during dinner. The food was also amazing! We’ll definitely be back!
Overall great dining experience. We had a late reservation so it was fairly quite.
The restaurant itself is well decorated and good variation of seating for different group sizes.
Great wine menu! However better options for brunch / lunch than dinner. Would dine again!
The food was average and was a bit pricey. The restaurant is nice but noisy. Service and server’s knowledge of the menu was excellent.
An excellant lunch experience. I recommend this restaurant. The food was great followed by a good service. However the place is a little bit noisy if you want to go with your partner.
We finally tried Ricarda and it will become a local drop in for us. Great design, very delicious lunch, great server.
The service was excellent, especially since we were a table of nine guests. However, the live music was so loud it was difficult to engage in conversation and even prompted someone in our party to put in ear plugs (and our table was located furthest from the music!) The food was good but the portions are small, especially if you order the duck.
Ricarda’s is officially my new fav restaurant in Toronto. I actually went twice in one wk. did happy hour one day and a few days later, dinner. The service was incredible and every bite/drink was worth it and delicious. The interiors are gorgeous.
Food was great and delicious. However, the service was really slow... waiters would walk by our tables, not pay attention to us and the fact our menus were closed and piled up for over 20 min. The kitchen sync with the various orders was also a bit messed up. The decor and set up is definitely nice, minimalist and modern. However, it is extremely noisy. I am glad i went and tried it.
I really enjoyed my dining experience at Ricarda's. The service was very good and the food had it's own creative failure and was absolutely delicious! It has such a cool vibe that I think anyone would enjoy. They also have wonderful live bands that play that really adds to the dining experience. They put their own special flare on desserts; I had the tiramisu which was the best I have ever had! I would highly recommend this as a very cool place to go for dinner & drinks.
