Ricarda's Ratings and Reviews
Food was fabulous. Love the space. Service was great until we needed to go. I think we were forgotten for a while. Regardless, I'll be back.
This was my second visit to Ricarda's. The first time was fantastic - my husband and I stumbled across the place and had a lovely Sunday brunch.
This time we organised a larger group to combine for a birthday. Overall the visit was great and everyone had a good time.
The food quality is exceptional. There wasn't quite as much variety, especially with the salads and vegie options this time around, but I suspect that does change seasonally.
The service was outstanding on both visits. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite.
Our one disappointment with this visit is that a) there were many hoops to jump through to book and confirm and confirm again the large group booking and b) that at no point in the 4 - 5 interactions that I had with staff to book, confirm and double confirm did anyone ask where in the restaurant we wanted to be seated.
This meant we were disappointed to find out on our arrival that we seated in a section of the restaurant we didn't even know existed and we really couldn't hear the live jazz band we had come in specifically to enjoy.
That said, we still had a lovely time with great service by Graham. We were able to move tables about 2 hours into the meal which was nice. (We stayed for about 4 hours for a long, lazy brunch - it really is a great atmosphere and we found it to be good value too.)
These two issues could be easily fixed by including sections for both the credit card details and
requests for the location of one's table in the restaurant in the online booking form. It would make it more seamless and ensure that all the essential information was gathered in one interaction, which would be more efficient and save a flurry of emails and calls at the last minute. It would also prevent customer's being disappointed by table location.
Other than that we had no hesitation to recommend Ricarda's and would return again.
Had such a lovely/delicious brunch+bottomless mimosas. The spread is incredible and the service is beyond friendly and courteous. There was even live jazz. It's a perfect spot for a small or large group...adults and kid-friendly--bring everyone, they'll love it!
We always enjoy going to Richard’s for special occasions. My husband and I have gone a few times for date night. Once I took a group of 12 from New York there for a birthday dinner and they absolutely loved it and enjoyed the food. For my Husbands birthday we stopped in for drinks and listened to a live band and had such a great time celebrating. This weekend we went for the Sunday brunch. Everything we tried was good with the made to order eggs Benedict to the pasta. Actually the pasta was excellent, we had it with the rose sauce, shrimp, spinach and mushrooms. So good! The flatbread station was good too. I could pass on the omelette station...plus the seafood station was quite small and oysters weren’t meaty. Despite this, we aren’t deterred from coming back. The staff at ricarda’s has always been accommodating and pleasant which makes any occasion feel like a special one.
Hitting on all cylinders
Had the best dining experience with my 3 friends for dinner. The service was beyond excellent. They were very nice and answered all our weird questions about the menu. The ambiance was also great - had a jazz band playing during dinner. The food was also amazing! We’ll definitely be back!
Overall great dining experience. We had a late reservation so it was fairly quite.
The restaurant itself is well decorated and good variation of seating for different group sizes.
Great wine menu! However better options for brunch / lunch than dinner. Would dine again!
The food was average and was a bit pricey. The restaurant is nice but noisy. Service and server’s knowledge of the menu was excellent.
An excellant lunch experience. I recommend this restaurant. The food was great followed by a good service. However the place is a little bit noisy if you want to go with your partner.
We finally tried Ricarda and it will become a local drop in for us. Great design, very delicious lunch, great server.
The service was excellent, especially since we were a table of nine guests. However, the live music was so loud it was difficult to engage in conversation and even prompted someone in our party to put in ear plugs (and our table was located furthest from the music!) The food was good but the portions are small, especially if you order the duck.
Ricarda’s is officially my new fav restaurant in Toronto. I actually went twice in one wk. did happy hour one day and a few days later, dinner. The service was incredible and every bite/drink was worth it and delicious. The interiors are gorgeous.
Food was great and delicious. However, the service was really slow... waiters would walk by our tables, not pay attention to us and the fact our menus were closed and piled up for over 20 min. The kitchen sync with the various orders was also a bit messed up. The decor and set up is definitely nice, minimalist and modern. However, it is extremely noisy. I am glad i went and tried it.
I really enjoyed my dining experience at Ricarda's. The service was very good and the food had it's own creative failure and was absolutely delicious! It has such a cool vibe that I think anyone would enjoy. They also have wonderful live bands that play that really adds to the dining experience. They put their own special flare on desserts; I had the tiramisu which was the best I have ever had! I would highly recommend this as a very cool place to go for dinner & drinks.
Food was great! Nicely designed space too
Very nice lunch with colleagues. Food was excellent. Service was terrific.
Excellent service. Food exceeded expectations. Entertainment was an unexpected pleasant surprise.
The ambiance is good. Seating near the window and corner so we can have conversations without shouting.
Service is excellent. They were a little bit delayed in serving the main dishes and made up by providing free appetizers while waiting.
Bouillabaisse was not served because chef felt it was not 'perfect' so he/she made it again (which caused the delay). This just shows that they value the food quality.
Visiting Toronto and this place made my day!!! Clean, fun, vibrant, wonderful menu, good service and tasty food!! Portions seemed to be small, but I came with a hearty appetite!!
Wish I lived in Canada just to come back!! Thanks, ay?!
Second time there...outstanding both times. The fresh pasta and bread is much appreciated. I found the spicing both exotic and sophisticated. I love duck and the many interjections of duck on the menu was greatly enjoyed. If I had a slight caveat it would be for a larger and more diverse wine list. I have found few places in Toronto at such a high standard. My wife compared the quality to Topolobampo in Chicago...high praise indeed!
Super Sunday brunch!
Amazing quality and variety!
Definitely will return!
I had really high expectations for this restaurant. The restaurant its self is stunning I really loved the atmosphere. Our server was super sweet very attentive at all times. However the food took a really long time to come out. I wasn't a fan of the food - I was very disappointed to see the price of dish and the quality wasn't worth it. Save your money there is a lot of good restaurant in Toronto that have way better food.
The place was empty, no ambiance, expensive and the meal was awful.
This was my birthday dinner with friends. We got excellent service. The food was amazing. We will be definitely returning here. Thank you very much Ricarda’s
This Sunday brunch buffet is outstanding
Great service too
Wonderful music, amazing food, great choices and the best part was the service.
Stunning decor just added to the experience
Presentation was outstanding!!
Server knew about the dishes, service was fast, great location!
Food was great - lots of selection, presentation was on point, taste was excellent. However, service was a big thumbs down. We waited more than 15 minutes after being seated to be greeted by our server and to get glasses of water. We then waited another 30 minutes for our server to bring us coffee. It was very hard to get a hold of the staff to order off of the a la carte menu. When it came time to get the bill, we waited another good 15 minutes to our server to bring us the machine (it was not busy by then - three quarter of the restaurant was empty). Other than the lack of service, food and ambience was great. Perhaps the servers were having a bad day. Will give the place a try again and see if service improves.
Was great! Initially came in for dessert, ended up ordering the sample plate and a flatbread! I had a couple of modifications due to allergies and they happily changed everything for me. To our surprise, a great band started at 11pm and it was a perfect Saturday night!
It was a simple dinner among friends for my Bday. The food was great. The wine tasty. Everything was excellent. Especially our sever Anna. Her service made the night that much more enjoyable. Will definitely go back!!
Our server and the rest of the staff were great. They were very attentive and the food was delicious!
Our lamb was cold in the middle and the service bar poured our wine into glasses that had paper towel residue all over them but most of these weren't a huge problem to us. It was a hectic night so I can understand... however one thing management should take care of the lame table section outside of the restaurant they were initially going to seat us at. There's no ambiance, you're practically sitting in a mall, this shouldn't be an available seating option. Servers and hosts were helpful and very nice.
Pleasantly surprised. Modern decor, nice ambience, excellent service and good food
Really great find. The best French style food we've found in Toronto since moving from France. Authentic French food which is a rarity for "French" restaurants in Toronto. Excellent service (waiter from Paris) with everyone attentive but not overwhelming. Just really great food, good choice but not overwhelming, great specials, nice wine list that matches the food. Definitely a new favourite!
Amazing! Fantastic service. Great food. A real hidden gem
Great new spot - a bit noisy given the open "urban-chic" ceiling concepts, no ability to absorb the noise. Great food for a wide variety of palettes. Good for business over that of a romantic spot. Great spot for a night of charcuterie goods and wine!
Pleasant and upbeat atmosphere. The portions are small and the food is average. Although the restaurant was half full, it took approximately 35 minutes to get our order which consisted of salads.
The venue itself is very pretty, however the service was absolutely horrible. The place was not crowded however it took over half an hour that get to our drinks and they forgot about our a la carte orders
The live jazz band was way too loud, we can ups hardly hear each other
Unfortunately we will not be returning
We had a fantastic dining experience at Ricarda's last week. A colleague had gotten engaged two days prior to our lunch so I updated my reservation to request that a bottle of bubbly be served as soon as we sat down. Not only was the bottle there as requested, the team event prepared a celebratory dessert as well. Excellent, caring service by Shannon which was very much appreciated. We work just around the corner, so we'll be back again soon.
