Went for dinner mid-week. Only had pasta and a pide but both were really tasty and well-thought out. Ambience was too noisy to talk much - a largish conference drinks-gathering plus the general noise generated in the building and live music felt overwhelming. But depends on your tolerance for noise! Food and service both good.
Went for Sunday brunch, second seating. Absolutely terrible - very small selection of food. Extremely overpriced for what is offered - with tax and tip, coffee and orange juice it comes out to $80 per person. Live band played for a total of maybe 20min. The second seating is supposed to finish at 330. However the food and the place was started to be cleared before 3pm. Haven’t been so disappointed with a restaurant in a long time. Only looks good on pictures but don’t go if you want to eat something.
Loved the rissotto and great natural light in the restaurant.
The food was so amazing! Beautiful space. Crème brule was to die for.
The service was exceptionally slow, especially during weekday lunch time. After a very long wait with only water, had to ask if we can order, were ignored and left there for several more minutes, finally had to ask someone else if we can order.
We were only a group of 4 who had made a reservation, but a few other tables (including one of a party of about 8-10) came in after us, ordered, ate and left before us since our whole experience took so long. No one was overly apologetic or seemed to care too much, service was brisk and unfriendly. The meals were highly priced for what we got in 3/4 cases.
Had a great time on the weekend at Ricarda’s. Our server was lovely and very attentive. My only complaint (with most restaurants, not just this one) is the knowledge of whether there is dairy in the menu items. I love dining out but find it challenging when so many menu items have dairy. It’s great to know which items don’t contain it all (not usually many) and which it can be removed from (without completely changing the dish of course). Given the many food allergies nowadays I think it’s something important for restaurants to pay attention to. Overall the food was pretty amazing. Would definitely recommend!
From the moment we set foot in Ricarda’s, we were well taken care of. The food and service were out of this world. Try the ravioli, lamb shank and mushroom risotto. You will not be disappointed. Don’t forget dessert- I recommend blue moon cheesecake and the pavlova.
We were surprised and delighted with our meal and dining experience. We were welcomed warmly by all who engaged with us at the restaurant. Our server in particular was very engaging, attentive, knowledgable and accommodated our every ask. Charming.
The food choices are diverse, yet it is not an overwhelming menu. All dishes served to our table were well-executed and with beautiful presentation. We were introduced to the sommelier and had him choose glasses of wine with our starters as well as our mains - a complex array of foods to pair. He accomplished solid matches which we all enjoyed.
Desserts were too compelling to decline. Again, beautifully presented. I personally enjoyed the interesting take on pavlova and, while the portion of the desert that was rose flavoured was not to my taste, i appreciated the complexity of the flavours. A lovely evening for all.
We will gladly return.
Our experience was great. Our waiter Adrian was a great host. This was our first time here. Pace of plates arriving was our only concern. I know this is a shared responsibility. But we had 3 courses in less than an hour. The restaurant was not overly busy.
Love this place! I am a frequent diner and this is one of my favorites. Great and interesting food complemented by a friendly and attentive staff. Couldn’t be much better.
We had the flat bread, great alternative to pizza, imaginative salad, plus Bronzino with fantastic sauce. And the tiramisu to die for.
Went to Ricardas last weekend with my 3-year-old daughter and 2 friends for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. We had such a wonderful time I couldn't recommend it enough and have been telling all my friends about it since. All the staff were super friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived until the moment we left despite it being very busy. The food was also fab with a great selection of salads, pastas, and desserts etc. The live jazz band were also really great and added to the atmosphere. Our daughter had a great time playing in the kid's area and the two staff there were also wonderful!. It was so nice to be able to enjoy our food and catch up with our friends whilst knowing that she was having fun and being well looked after. We will definitely be going back again for brunch and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ricardas to friends for brunch.
Excellent mediterranean cuisine combined with great atmosphere and superb service!
Amazing food and service! Everyone was so kind and attentive, would definitely come back with family.
Service was terrible for such an expensive place. Took forever to take a drink order and we ordered sides that didn’t come until after our meals were done.. and they forgot one out of the 3 sides. Tried to make it up with a few free drinks at the end and we didn’t get charged for them... but still not a good first impression
The atmosphere and service was top notch. Didn't know that there was a set menu for Valentine's Day. For the price we paid the food didn't seem that tasty. I would like to return again and try out their regular menu. Still would recommend going there.
They had amazing bread, and staff were very Attentive. We were very impressed and would definitely come back.
Loved our experience however on the OpenTable app AND the Ricardo's website, it's not clear that it's a Saturday brunch menu. I get that for this area brunch is the norm on sat/sun until the afternoon, but we wanted more LUNCH items and SUNDAY brunch is what's highlighted. So I was led to believe they served lunch on Saturdays. It wasn't a huge deal, but one person in our party doesn't do eggs or cheese and their lunch menu would have been a better option for that specific person.
It was our first time at Ricarda's and we were very pleased. The service and food were fabulous!
We will come back and recommend the place.
We booked this brunch reservation to celebrate a special occasion. We were placed initially right near the live jazz section which was nice, however we were told immediately by the wait staff that since they had another party coming in at 1:30, we needed to be out of our seat by 1:15 (we got seated at 11:40 for our 11:30AM reservation). They asked if this was okay, and we told them that we didn’t ask for this seat specifically and we were okay to be at a different table if it was a time inconvenience. They moved us further away from the live music afterward, however this left a bad impression before we even ate. We assumed by moving to a different location that there wouldn’t be a time pressure during our visit.
Near the end of our brunch, the waiter came to our seat and placed the check on our table near 1:00PM. We didn’t ask for the check and we felt pressured to relieve the check immediately. It felt like we were being pushed out of the restaurant, when the larger table of 8 next to us who got seated around the same time were carefully enjoying their time without any pressure from the wait staff. The final waitress came to our table and asked to clear our plates while we were still having our dessert. When we said it was okay for her to remove the plates she made a light comment about us not trying one of the cakes on our plates and we told her that we felt pressured to leave the restaurant. She acknowledged our statement and made mention that they had many reservations that day.
Overall, it was very rude. We enjoyed the resurarant thoroughly, however the wait staff left us with a very negative impression. We didn’t feel valued nor did our celebration occasion seem valued or acknowledged. We were at the restaurant for only about an hour and a half in total, which doesn’t seem like a huge amount of time for the pressure to leave by the wait staff. We left and caught our Uber at 1:26pm
While the food and venue were great, the wait staff Was a let down
The food here was outstanding. We went for Winterlicious and definitely will return. The layout of the restaurant is quite nice too, more spacious than most nice restaurants downtown. Our service was great, too.
Portions way too small for price - not fair.
Fantastic sommelier, really good service, some unique and tasty menu items.
Great experience! Wine recommendations were fantastic. Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. Will be back!
Winterlicious is not that exciting.
Went for winterlicious lunch and the service and ambiance was amazing! It's a Mediterranean restaurant, but I am not sure if the menu are Mediterranean. It feels like a fusion to me.
Very long wait time tonight...winterlicious backlog? Was not impressed. Despite that, our waiter was wonderful and deserves acknowledgment.
The Winterliciius menu was really good and the portions were generous. Everything tasted excellent!! The waiter was attentive with refilling our water and asking how we found the meal.
The ambience was wonderful! Woukd definitely recommend to friends and return again myself in the future.
What I ordered was all bland. It was from the winterlious menu. The restaurant was really nice though. Great vibe. I’ll come back but order something else.
Good food and well situated.
Service could be improved. Staff were confused in terms of which tables ordered what and we were kept waiting after each course, especially during lunch time when we were a bit pressed for time.
Would come back because the food was delicious.
My overall experience at Ricarda's was great! We got the corn fritters from the Tapas menu and the Patras flat bread and both were excellent! For the mains, I got the risotto which was a little salty and not as flavourful as I would have liked. Also, there weren't too many vegetarian options for the mains unfortunately.
We ended with the Milk Chocolate Pavlova which was one of the best desserts I've had - it wasn't too sweet and the texture was perfect. It had a great combination of creamy and crunchy and a mix of flavours. It was delicious!
The decor was tastefully done with the open ceiling and an open kitchen. The ambience and service was on point as well. Great for a date/special occasion, it's got a very classy and romantic vibe. Definitely recommend!
Really great food and service. I would recommend this place and I’ll definitley be coming back.
Great restaurant, fantastic attentive server, outstanding food
Table of 6 total $900. The service was great. The restaurant beautiful. Love the washrooms etc. negative: Some of the appetizers and sides were quite small for the price. Appetizer salmon $20 for 4 tiny pieces of salmon hidden amongst frisée salad and a few sliced beets is really not worth it. The One side dish that comes with shared meals comes served in a little bowl. It wasn’t enough food and didn’t present well stuffed into a tiny dish. Good thing 2-6 people had small appetites.
Awesome place for a anniversary
Very friendly, attentive service and quality food. I like that they change up their menu once in a while. Cocktails are a bit on the pricey side but good.
My friend and I attended the Jazz Brunch and loved the food and ambiance at Ricarda's. The customer service, however, was the best part of our experience. All the staff we interacted with from the hostess, to the waiters, to the staff at the various food stations, were lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. As soon as the staff learned of our dietary restrictions (religious), they offered to help us by preparing our food using separate utensils, checking ingredients in their desserts with the pastry chefs, and even going as far as to make us our very own flat bread (which I highly recommend) so we could enjoy what the restaurant had to offer without worry. We loved our time at Ricarda's so much we are coming back in a couple of weeks for breakfast with 5 of our other friends :)
lovely service, lovely food, fantastic restaurant. Ricarda's is definitely a Torontonian gem!
Great place for brunch!
Had a great time on my bday
Outstanding restaurant, great food and excellent service. Be sure to ask Ricarda’s very knowledgeable sommelier Alain about the impressive wine list.
