Every detail and part of each recipe served at the restaurant is made from complete scratch, from the pasta and sauces, to the puff pastry and creams in our delicious desserts!
We also serve special dinners off menu which can be reserved in advance, ranging from $37 to $45 per person. These special dinners consist of a family style 3 course meal with an abundant amount of tastings for each course with different tastes of cuisines based on meat, seafood/fish, and vegetarian recipes.
Besides dining in and carrying out, Daniela is also available to cater your special events such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, etc.

The food was delicious and the service was even better! The restaurant could use a makeover, but all else compensates!
Such good food, 100% worth it
Four of us drove up from Washington, DC to dine at Cafe Daniela with Baltimore friends! We read about the chef from Sardinia and loving Italy we thought we'd give Daniela's a try! It exceeded expectations! Amazing Italian crab soup, delicious branzino and seafood, and homemade pasta that was out of this world! Quaint ambience like we were in Daniela's house! Can't forget to mention amazing tiramisu for dessert - not to be missed!
Wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was wonderful. Felt like we were back in Italy.
I have been surprising people for years at Daniella’s. Not only is the food superb and authentic, you feel like family and can relax. Italians typically leave you have the table as long as you like. It’s a sin of so many restaurants today that the give you a napkin and put you on a timer at the same moment to turn the table.
We had a good quality hour and a half relaxing and were really able to enjoy our friends and the whole evening. Thank you Stephano and Daniella!!!
Absolutely fantastic. The pastas and sauces are all hand made by the owner, and you can taste the difference. The Fregula con Cocculas and the Veal Scallopini might be some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.
Great place and close to home. Love their house made lasagna! Service is always good.
The meal was excellent with dinner and desserts handmade by Daniela. We really enjoyed everything we ate and our server was very nice and helpful.
We’ve been there many times and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is like being in the family dining room. Therefore the service is excellent. I highly recommend ristorante Daniela
Great! Waiter needs training but I think he was the owner’s son!
Wow! Second time here and better yet! Family and friends for a birthday. Chianti, fabulous bread to start. I had the lasagna al fungi ( mushrooms) - hot, cheesy and delicious! Others had the veal ( can’t remember Italian name) in a lemon sauce. They raved. Another friend had the flounder and loved it. One last diner had the mussels in a tomato sauce. The portions were perfect and all plates were empty at fin. And desserts were home made and great!
I guess you can tell I love this place!
Charming, Delicious and real Italian. Don’t be in a rush and enjoy the cuisine. Nice venue in Hamden.
Excellent Sardinian food with all fresh pastas and desserts made by Daniella. Loved the mussels and mushroom lasagna.
Daniela’s is always spectacular! It’s a family-owned, family run place, with unique Sardinian dishes, as well as Italian fare. Try the Sardinian wines! And you know it’s legit because Daniela herself is back there in the kitchen working her butt off! This is my husband’s and my all time fav restaurant in Bmore!
Wow, I felt like I was in Italy, Food was fresh and prepared to order. Highly recommend for true cuisine. Romantic or leisurely friends gathering. Worth the parking hassle!
Authentic homemade dishes, the family takes pride in what they serve. The tiramisu is amazing!
Really individual home-style cooking- no frozen portion-controlled food here! Try the mussels appetizer- you’ll want extra bread to soak up the sauce!
We love Daniela's. We felt like our loving Italian grandmother was cooking for us in the kitchen. The authenticity of the dishes was impressive. The funky decor made things more fun. And the staff was appropriately attentive and friendly. We will most definitely return
Great food and hospitality. Unique Italian experience, due to the Sardinian influence.
Daniela is a culinary gem. It is an authentic, Sicilian restaurant which serves really delicious
Italian fare. The servers are polite, helpful and efficient. The chef, Daniela, is also the owner. Everything on the menu is outstanding.
The only downside is the parking in Hampden. Get there early as you are likely to find a parking spot close to the restaurant.
Do not miss this treasure!
This is the sort of restaurant where you can easily imagine there is someone in the kitchen cooking your food to order. It is not hyper efficient--no quick meal here--but the food is excellent and quite unusual, both for the neighborhood and the city,
Food was delicious and service was exceptional! Will definitely be back.
This is a must go-to restaurant. It is authentically Italian and the owner is the (female) chef.
Everything on the menu is outstanding and homemade.
Don’t miss this treasure
Always have a wonderful dinner at Daniela's. Everything is homemade and delicious. Service is great. Daniela is a terrific person and cook. Her son who waits tables is so accommodating and attentive and fun to have as a waiter.
Friends and I went to Hampden and we’re very happy that we went to Daniella’s. It’s very charming and mama visited with us! She I s the excellent chef. Her son was our waiter and was very knowledgeable 👌The wines were very reasonable. We will definitely be going there again.
A first time visit for us, a party of three. The staff were very understanding and helpful since we had made a mistake with the date of our reservation and despite being full booked an excellent table was made available for us. The food was remarkably good and we had an exceedingly busy waitress who made a great effort to look after us. Clearly, this is a restaurant to which we will be glad to return.
Everything about this restaurant is divine. Expect a leisurely meal. And get dessert.
Always enjoy Daniela's, even when it was the tiny place up the street. Very good pastas and the veal is good too. Need a few more options with second course, more veal and chicken dishes. The ones that they have are delicious! The service is warm and welcoming ( Stefano)So glad to have it close to home!
Amazing amazing!! Food is so delicious! Everything is made from scratch! Best and nicest staff!! You must try this place!!!
First visit. Quality authentic cuisine holds true to Sicilian roots of owner.
Some items better than others no dissapointments though. Worthy of future visits to keep trying things on their menu.
Food was delicious - homemade pastas amazing! Service was pleasant, professional and efficient!
This was our fifth visit to Restorante Daniela and we have never been disappointed. Wonderful variation on Italian food (Sardinian accents)and fabulous deserts. It is family owned and run with Daniela herself in the kitchen and son Stefano serving in a warm and professional manner. Everyone we have gone with has raved .
Fantastic food and service. My husband is gluten free and they made him fresh gluten free pasta and gluten free gnocchi. All the sauces were amazing. The service was super- everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Best place ever!
Had a wonderful fresh tasting meal with attentive service. Will be back
The Malloreddus was quite salty. Any more salt and it would have been inedible. Didn't dare send it back because it took so long to get the dish in the first place, so my partner would have had to wait for my dish and eat hers cold, or I could have watched her eat her dinner and then she would have had to watch me eat mine.
Very stingy with the bread--you get just 1 piece each with your entree, and if you want more, you have to pay $2.49 extra!
Couldn't get decaf coffee, which was quite disappointing. Dessert was very good, though.
My wife and I were in Baltimore for the weekend and searched Yelp for lasagna. Daniela had good reviews so we gave it a try. We both got the Lasagna alla Bolognese and agreed it was one of if not the best lasagna that we have tasted. Our waiter was really friendly and kept a check on us. We definitely plan to return whenever we are in Baltimore.
Charming intimate family run place; mom’s cooking and son is the waiter. Food is delicious and the ambiance is a little slice of Italy.
Adorable little place in Hamden! Food is basically Italian with a twist as much of it is based upon Sardinian cuisine. Very friendly service and very comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
This restaurant has a warm, homey ambiance, a friendly staff and delicious food. I will be going back.
Our entrees - particularly the flouder - were well executed. Husband raved over his cannoli. Nice atmosphere. Good wait staff. Will go back.
