   Rittenhouse Grill ( and its previous incarnation as The Prime Rib) remains as on of Philadelphia's most elegant nights out. The supper club atmosphere with truly the best prime rib in town , have made this our special occasion place for over 10 years and our recent night ther was no exception.    It is essentially the same wonderful ambiance and high quality of the predecessor entity in this same space. Service is formal, but accessible and unobtrusive. Food was not creative nor "new", but we wanted and got classic high-quality steaks. Like its predecessor in this space, it is an excellent throw-back steakhouse, complete with a piano player.

   We love this place. We used to come here very often at least once a week, when we live in Philadelphia. Although we mo longer live in Philadelphia, we still come to this restaurant when we visit. The owner Garth is very hospitable and welcoming. We will always make a point to eat at Rittenhouse Grill whenever we can!

    Great prime rib, full of wet aged flavour which means the flavour is intense around the spinalis and gentler around the eye which is always excellent. Ambience is lovely. A little too clubby but you sometimes want that.

    Our party of six all agreed the dinner was tasty and presented well Lobster …crab Cakes and Filets Mignon were all cooked properly and were of gourmet caliber …Lamb chops not so much Ordered rare arrived Med rare By the time it was consumed Medium ….Escargot very good All in all a nice experience I would return Thanks for a nice experience

    Rittenhouse Grill features superb service and food in an atmosphere reminiscent of a New York City supper club from the 40s. Seating is at the bar or in spacious banquettes in a warm, inviting space. It's cozy, with live piano music playing, many tables filled (on a Wednesday), and people at the bar. Definitely an upscale steak and seafood house, with prime meats and fresh seafood. I recommend it highly.

    I ate at the restaurant on Saturday April 8th with my parents and my Aunt. It was my Dad’s birthday. Our waiter cleared plates too quickly. My Aunt wasn’t finished with her salad when he took her plate. When dinner was served nothing was hot. I immediately noticed the French Fries were only warm. The other sides were also not hot - especially the baked potato and the Brussel Sprouts. Our steaks were cooked well and the waiter did give my Dad a complimentary dessert. Overall I was disappointed. This was my second time at the restaurant. On my first visit for my Aunt’s birthday we had a great waiter and a wonderful meal. I expected the same this time. Still I know my Dad enjoyed his dinner and didn’t complain but afterwards he did say he had better meals elsewhere. Humph!

    Wonderful selection to choose from. We had oysters, and coconut shrimp to start and the prime rib and Chilean sea bass for entrees. The mashed potatoes and creamed spinach are my favorite in the city at this restaurant! Will return soon.
