The food was delicious. We went on a Wednesday evening so very quiet.
West Vancouvetites need to give this restaurant a try.

Server was very enthusiastic about their food. He made.the overall experience great. The portion is a bit small because of dine out menu. But the taste was great. Would definitely come back.

Was not authentic French food. Run by Spanish people who don’t know what French food really is. Food was prepared mediocre, nothing special.

We had to come early at 5:30. Some families with young children made it less relaxing. Everything else was superbe. Will be back.

Came here for Dine-out with my dad from out of town and a friend, and my 12-year-old daughter. The food was excellent, as was the service. The dine-out menu was very well balanced and had something for everyone to enjoy. I was surprised at the lack of customers on a Saturday night during dine-out though, and the ambience was hard to describe but didn’t feel French. Would absolutely recommend d this place.

When I booked this reservation we were not informed that they would only be serving their dine out menu. This made it challenging for one of the guests with dietary restrictions. We were not allowed to order from the regular menu even though it was posted. Later we saw him serving other guests entrees from the regular menu. He was extremely rude when questioned about this. Service was poor food mediocre, when had moulds and frites included clams? Attitudes ruined our experience. I suspect they will not last long here

We had lunch here during dine out. All menu items tasted were absolutely fantastic. Service was friendly and accommodating to our need for extra plates as we split the dishes so we could taste everything. The cocktail was marvellous.

My daughter and I went for Dine Out. I was excited to go to this restaurant for the first time as the North Shore News gave it rave reviews in the Best of 2018 article. I was disappointed. The food, especially the Beef Bourguignon, was very so so. The soup was Ok but I guess I was spoiled by the Tableau onion soup the week before and this didn’t stand up to that one. Service was good if a bit fast.

The food was good but not exceptional enough to justify the prices.
Restraunts in this location have come and gone with regularity and I am sad to say that this one will join them before the year is, out.
A bright light was that the creme brulee was perfection incarnate.

Ok, this was for New Years eve dinner in neighbourhood restaurant. Made the reservation for 10 a month ahead but one couple couldn't make it and we advised them there would only be 8 of us. They said no problem.
Arriving 10 min early 6:50pm we got seated but no waiter service for 45 minutes. Had to call the waiter over to order drinks and wine. Problem was not the waiters fault since there was only one waiter and one busboy for the entire restaurant so he was run off his feet.
Food was good to very good but we left frustrated, particularly after being advised that 18% gratuity was included. We expected that however, to give 18% for missing service? Here's hoping others who don't go on New Years get much better service as food was tasty and enjoyable.

There was only one other table occupied and our food took a long time to come. The waiter also wasn’t attentive and never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert after our meal.

Everything was perfect! Attentive service, excellent food and very quiet for lunch. The foie gras appetizer was divine, the onion soup so filling and perfectly heart warming and finally the wild boar made just a point served with the most delectable cauliflower purée and crispy Brussels sprouts. Can’t wait to return!

Scallops, truffle fries, Brussels sprouts and lamb done two ways.... all excellent and highly recommended!!!! Serving staff is very attentive and a special touch by the chef at the end of the meal when he comes out to say hello to each table.

We had a wonderful evening last Saturday, great service, excellent food and lovely ambiance . This is our new favourite restaurant ! The octopus was awesome , our friends raved about the mussels and the sable fish. My son and wife thought the prawns and scallops were cooked perfectly ! Go soon before word gets out and reservations are hard to get !!

We had a terrific meal and a wonderful time at Rive Gauche. it was our first visit to this restaurant and, yet, we were treated like longtime friends. Andres is a great promoter for the restaurant and made us feel like the most valuable of his customers. The chef even came out to chat with us and gave us a sample of a dish from his new menu, which was being released a few days after our dinner.
We ordered onion soup, Dungeness crab fennel salad (with grapefruit), grilled octopus, and a wild boar chop. All were incredible, as was the sample of the chef's new dish. I'm still dreaming of that wild boar now...
After just one visit, Rive Gauche Bistro is already one of our top few favourite restaurants. We already have a reservation for next week.
