   Ordered Gaspscho waited 1 hour, wasn’t told they had to make it. Ordered 1 Martini, first one was made wrong. Sent back,Brought another good one. While waiting for the gazpacho, brought me another martini I didn’t order. Thought it was because we were waiting so long. When I got the check they charged me for 3 martinis. Our server could have had better communication skills.

   A staple of ours … went to celebrate my birthday and a friend’s. Appetizers were great but the meals were lacking. Dynamite mahi. Dry overcooked. 3 of us got what appeared to be day old barely warm ABSOLUTELY not whipped potatoes… asked for coffee, was barely warm and clearly had been sitting there for hours.

   Service was subpar had to wait for waitress to serve water and bread basket. The bread basket was pathetic two small rolls and two crackers, maybe enough for one person but not two. We were not offered more bread. Waitress brought the wrong bottle of wine even though she supposedly wrote it down. My wife ordered her prime rib medium rare what she was served was basically raw. I had made the reservation weeks in advance and requested a window seat, but we were seated away from the windows. Could have saved us a window seat since there were other tables available, but apparently they just seat you at what ever is available. (What’s the point in making a reservation) Some of the staff seemed unprofessional or didn’t care. Cleaned off tables and threw dirty tablecloths on the floor.(My opinion they needed better training) We have dined at this restaurant numerous times and feel that the food and service have gone downhill. We certainly will have second thoughts about returning.

   We went to The River Crab for Mother's Day per my request. A table of 3 (2 adults and one young child 6 y/o). We have been in the past and wanted to do something special for the holiday. We drove 50 minutes to get there. The service was great. Our waitress was a doll and so friendly. The food was inconsistent from previous experiences. The sodas were flat and because of the renovations, there was no fryer, which created a little drama for my little one who was looking forward to tenders and fries. He resorted to a grilled cheese and tots. He took two bites of the grilled cheese and was done. My husband and I both tried it and felt it was not cooked properly. My shrimp dish was pretty basic, considering the price and the way to waitress described it. My husband did not enjoy his lemon chicken dish. The chicken was overcooked, almost appeared to be boiled. We enjoyed our crab cake and the ricotta bread appetizers. The carrot cake we had for dessert was the best! The piece was so large we had some to take home.

   They were doing renovations which I didn't know, you had to use a glorified out house if you needed to go to the bathroom, I mean come on when you are charging $40 for a 6 ounce filet you better have a nice bathroom. I ordered the blackened Mahi-Mahi and it had way too much on it and salty, boy was it salty. I was very disappointed in our visit it is normally really good, 5 people $245 dollars later for an ok meal. IDK???

   We were there for Mother's Day. My Moms favorite place. I was shocked to walk into the temporary entrance to be greeted by a Porta John! I understand renovations but when you pay over $250 for dinner for four, I am not using a Porta John!! Disgusting!!

    The hostess working this past Mother’s Day has no business being in customer service - VERY cold and rude. The food was salty and you could tell low quality. Our waitress was honestly amazing, she by far was the only good thing about this experience. I’ve been taking my mom here every year for Mom Day - won’t be back.

    Food and service were excellent. A little overpriced as compared to similar restaurants. No indication on their website or open table that they are in the middle of a renovation. The ports potties were disgusting and smelled so bad. I’m glad I didn’t use them until we were leaving. Otherwise we may have walked away.

    We had a fantastic Mothers Day dinner. The food was perfect, our waitress was very nice. I gave it a 4 because of the construction, we will be back again! Not many nice restaurants like this anymore. So happy they are there!

    The smell of the bathrooms at the entrance was bad. The manager complaining when we walked in was not welcoming. The waitress was excellent but the appetizer we got was not good and so we left.

    Was unaware of the renovation construction when booking our reservation. As we were following the makeshift entrance we passed 2 industrial rental toilets and 2 temporary hand wash stations. The hostess seated our party of 4 at about 445pm on Friday evening. Absolutely no mention of the renovation construction. No mention we would need to use temporary outdoor toilets. Service was slow. The waiter seemed attentive at first and as he got a few more tables he was less attentive. Our entrees were delivered and he did not check back with us for quite some time. I ordered the Dynamite trout, my husband ordered the macadamia mahi, my brother ordered the bass broiled. Our meals were very good. My mom ordered the dynamite mahi which our waiter raved about. She did not get the dynamite topping but instead a dry fishy tasting piece of mahi. When we confronted the waiter about the lack of dynamite sauce he just said we did not order it prepared that way and walked away. Walked away without trying to see how he could remedy the situation. Oh I’m sorry, can I bring a side of dynamite sauce. Oh I’m sorry I misunderstood. Oh what can I do to help you enjoy your dinner. He really was too busy with other tables to take care of us. As we left the restaurant the hostess thanked us for coming in. But no mention of bearing with them during the inconvenience of a renovation. Overall disappointing experience.

    I wish there was notification of the construction on the site. The restrooms were outside in a trailer (albeit a nice trailer) the ADA restroom was a traditional construction port a john. The entry to the restaurant required walking right past the restrooms and they were smelly. Once you entered the restaurant, it was lovely. The food was delicious. The service was professional and top notch.

    River Crab is a great place to dine as the scenery is beautiful. The food is very good, but they have not changed their menu in a very long time. We like the snapper and the key lime pie the best. Delicious food, but would like to see a few changes in the menu, as the prices are quite overpriced compared to other fine dining establishments.

    Although the restaurant is undergoing some renovations, the dining experience is still top notch. Our waitress Haley, was very knowledgeable and friendly to all of us. She answered all of our questions and didn't act put out by by it. She's an asset to the River Crab staff. The food was excellent. The view of the Saint Clair River is a nice touch.     Was unaware of construction but still no problem getting in. Different bread, smaller than usual scallops and my favorite Baked Bree gone again from the menu. Baked ricotta no even close. Still as always great atmosphere and service. My son and I love it!

    This is a favorite restaurant. It was not up to the normal standards. Our clam chowder soup came out undercooked and room temperature. We realize that they are under construction and had mentioned it to the waitress. She did apologize. They have also changed their menu removing a favorite dish shrimp scampi. It was just disappointing. After construction is completed, standards should be back to normal we are hoping.

    The food quality has gone down significantly. As someone who has been dining here over the past 15 years, I have no desire to return. The portions are so TINY! I was shocked. Typically, I enjoy the bread, but they changed that too. Very disappointed.
