This is truly classy, cool, vintage and iconic restaurant right on the St. Clair River. The food is top notch as well as the cocktails, the ambiance and the view. As we dined, an enormous freighter came by and it was decorated with Christmas lights! We highly recommend The River Crab! Also, the service is always beyond great, our server was Eric and he made absolutely sure we were taken care of.

Debbie (our server) was sensational. We had a mishap with wine and she acted as if it was her fault. (It wasn’t.) Food was very good. Ambience remains dark despite rehab. Two suggestions on busy holiday buffet days: Bring in valet service. When you’re busy with an older clientele, the hill is too much. And providing one “to go” box for dessert would be a good service.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner with family. The River Crab is one of our very favorite restaurants and we so enjoyed sharing it with our family on this holiday. The food was fabulous--best dark-meat turkey I've had. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and went back to the buffet for a little more. You can't beat the view. We saw four freighters pass by while we were there--always a treat. Debbie was the best server, always taking care of our needs without rushing us. We'll be back again and again and again.

Food was ok ish.... nothing over the top like I remember years ago . My son had the duck which was good. I had the sole which was ok but parts tasted fishy. There was a party there with toddlers so the noise was pretty loud as the kids were running around and a baby was screaming. Chad our waiter was excellent even though he had a lot of tables he still did a great job.

This place seems to never disappoint!! Return customers to see how the new kitchen panned out. We went for our Anniversary, it was a Tuesday night so can't fully commit to noise level in review, but for us, it was perfect! Tyler our server was very attentive! We were lucky enough to get a table with a view at the window inside since it was a chilly September evening. Ordered Dynamite scallops for an appetizer, had New England Clam Chowder with Parmesan Snapper & Shrimp and Dynamite Mahi Mahi for dinner and finished with the Colossal Carrot Cake for dessert! Hands down, best food in the area! We will definitely be back :)

I didn't catch the name of our server, however, she was attentive and professional. She knows the menu well. Blackened snapper was excellent. My husband's perch could have been a tad more crispy, but he said the flavor was good. Gazpacho got excellent reviews.

We were celebrating a retirement. When our waitress, Angie, came to our table and introduced herself. She asked if we were celebrating anything special or just there for dinner. We told her we were celebrating a retirement. She was so kind and asked if she could take our picture for us either inside or outside so that we would have the memory. When we finished our dinner, she led us outside and took our phone to capture the special moment. This restaurant never disappoints. Angie was a great waitress and the food was excellent as always.

We keep going back here every summer because we love the river and the view. And…each year the food is so disappointing. Ugh!!! The food was mediocre. The food wasn’t even warm when we received it. This is such a beautiful place on the river!! Please improve your food.

1st thing you need to know is that they don’t read any special requests you enter through open table. I reserved well in advance, told them this was a special anniversary dinner and requested a table by the water as shown in the pictures. When we arrived and were to be seated not by the water the hostess told us the tables by the water are reserved for members of their club that pay extra for the privilege of the view. Had someone had told me in advance I would have canceled. However we could sit outside in the bugs for no extra cost. The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t special. Despite mentioning to the hostess this was an anniversary dinner and putting it in the comments they made no special effort to even say congratulations. Our server was wonderful and attentive and very apologetic about being out of the fish we wanted to order. 5 stars to our server but honestly we drove 3 hours to be in this area for our 41st anniversary celebration and what was supposed to be a highlight turned into a big fat dud.

Ordered the surf & turf and the lobster was overcooked. The filet was not tender. Shrimp appetizer was baby size with Frank's hot sauce....I can make that at home. The food was very disappointing. Our server (Heather) was excellent!!! Their outdoor dining has the best view though!
