Absolutely amazing spot. Me and my girlfriend celebrated our 5 year anniversary and we already want to go back. The food, the service, the quality…. Everything blew our expectations out of the water! If you’re looking to have amazing cocktails and a great time, check Riviera out for sure!

My partner and I went here for our anniversary and had such a great time. The service was great--they brought us sparkling wine to celebrate the day--and the cocktails were to die for. I'd highly recommend trying the caviar as well as the mushroom toast. We'll definitely be coming back!

Just a brilliant experience. Sat at the bar near the chefs. The food is beautiful and the cocktail list expensive. We were served by David who was attentive and we enjoyed the conversation. This is one great place to eat and enjoy the experience.

A couple of the dishes were stand out but most of them were average. Our server Tim kept making weird little comments every time he arrived at our table. Like that we were deep into the drink menu when I had literally just picked it up. People look at menus at a restaurant?? The octopus and duck were the stand outs. Everything else I could take or leave.

Duck was unfortunately underwhelming. Under seasoned and boring. 1 1/2 turnip and beet leafs beside it were bland. Sauce was bland. The dish was not worth the price. Go to OZ cafe instead. Beautiful environment though and the oysters and cocktails were delicious.

This was our third visit to Riviera. As always the service was friendly and helpful and the food delicious. We had the tomato and burrata, beef tartare, lobster spaghetti and the halibut. Just wasn’t too wrapped with the corn filling in the pavlova. Definitely recommend Riviera

Decided to try Riviera for our anniversary dinner. Heard good things. We heard right. Delicious if small menu. The host and wait staff remembered our anniversary from the reservation, and gave us each a nice glass of sparkling wine. My wife's steak was perfectly cooked. My duck had crispy skin, well-rendered fat, and a thick orange sauce. Exactly as advertised. Would recommend for special occasions

Lovely location/decor, however the portions are quite small for the price and the flavour wasn’t anything revolutionary. Given the low overhead cost of making pasta, for $38 I expected an exceptional pasta dish, but ours was just okay. Our dessert however was delicious. Brownie with raspberry compote. Perfection. The ambiance was a bit weird with the 80’s pop music playing. Just didn’t match the vibe for us. The service was good, especially the host. Very lovely man. Also loved their Mocktails menu as someone who abstains from alcohol. Overall I would return for a drink with friends but I don’t think I would do dinner again; or if I did I would try one of their mains rather than a pasta. Side note: a large portion of their menu is seafood based, so if you don’t like seafood like me your options become a bit more limited. This is just my personal preference though so I didn’t take this into account when writing my review. Just an FYI for my fellow seafood haters hahah

First time visited Ottawa we just happened to pass by the area and had dinner at Rivera. It was amazing food and service we loved it so much we came back again for the 2nd night. We tried different items from the menu and they were also very delicious like the night before. This shows that their chefs are really good on everything they offered. The service was top notch as well from both waiters we had. My husband and i are foodies and we can be picky on our restaurant choices but we highly recommend this place. We enjoyed the dinning experience very much.

Celebrated my wife and I's anniversary here and had a wonderful time. Incredibly kind staff, amazing service and shared some wonderful stories with the waiter who had a ton of fantastic wisdom to share with us. Amazing vibes and comfort. The restaurant felt private yet still open, the lighting was great as was the food. Absolutely recommend you come here for any event.
