Robba da Matti (Yaletown) Ratings and Reviews
Like a family run neighborhood Italian Trattoria; Love kitchen view. Would describe restaurant as cozy.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Robba da Matti. The tgree course meal was delicious down to the last crumb. Well balanced and the house wine a great accompaniment. We sat in the outside area and were comfortably warm. Very attentive service and excellent food.
We went on the first night of Dineout Vancouver.
Great food, tasty, plentiful, good service and ambiance.
We had a delicious meal. The wrong dishes were brought to a couple of us, and one in our party of 4 had to wait for a new dish to be prepared when the rest of us had our meals, but they were fairly quick to prepare it. I thought it was odd the server did not top up our wine glasses from our bottle, so we did so ourselves. Otherwise the service staff was friendly and courteous.
Food is authentic Italian. Found my dish to be a little salty, however, the appetizers and drinks were great. I'd go again.
Great Italian food, on the light side. Fun place in that main dining area and kitchen are in same large room, and cooking is visible from most tables. (Also a patio outside.) Good wine list. Very attentive and informed staff. In middle of Yaletown, so parking isn't easy. Moderate prices, so very good value.
I loved this place, authentic Italian, great food and friendly service. I plan to go again many times!
Lovely for date night. It was very nice to see the kitchen - very impressed by how small it is!
Food was amazing!! Couldn't pass up the option to try dessert. Great for a little group or dinner for 2. Small place could use a bit more room for the patio it can get a little too cozy. But overall hands down go again :)
always delicious and always friendly service!
Food has been disappointing. I absolutely love Italian food and this place has about the worst. First time here, two friends in our group found the pasta too al dente (it was quite crunchy), second time was just okay. Unfortunately, gave it another try here and food was very bland. Also, we were seated almost underneath one gas heater and beside another. Ended up having heat blasted on our faces and sweating throughout dinner. Horrible dining experience.
The restaurant didn't realize the outside temperature was much warmer than previous days and would not adjust the heaters. We all will never, ever again come to this restaurant. There are so many other better Italian restaurants in Yaletown.
I was told the food was great so I went and didn’t disappoint. Servers mom was cooking so I told her to bring me whatever she thought was great. Ravioli, tomatoes, Boccaccini cheese salad, wine. Grappa. Satisfying and delicious. Sit outside with the fire torches. It’s wonderful.
Great location and small restaurant. The pasta was perfect.
Went there on new years eve, the staff are amazing, food was wonderful! Looking forward to going again, I felt like I was eating in a little authentic restaurant in Europe! Thank you for a wonderful new years eve!!!
That one hour of dining made me I feel like I was in Rome
I grew up in Italy eating authentic, beautiful ingredients, and have tried many, many Italian restaurants in Vancouver. This is by far the best, most authentic Italian food you can find! Home made pasta with the perfect al dente texture, and melt-in-your-mouth burrata fresh mozzarella flown in from Italy were absolute hightlights. Thank you to Christina, the Chef, for a memorable evening of eating some of the best food I've had in years!
What a surprise this trestsurant was! Although i live just afew blicks away i made reservations here on the recomendatiion of a friend. Excellent food ambience and servvice Dont miss it
I went to this restaurant with my friend once. This time, I brought my girlfriend, she really enjoyed the spaghetti à la Scoglio as the way I do!
When the first bite brings back the authentic flavours of Italy you know you will go back. I enjoyed the very friendly but professional service. Chef Cristina is a pro! Highly recommended from an Italian foodie.
Alberto was amazing.
Such a tiny restaurant! The food was a bit salty for my taste, but other than that, it was great. Will definitely go again.
My boyfriend and I got the “Date night menu”, good deal. Also because there’s a bottle of wine included (red or white). The food was truly amazing, like being in Italy. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Wonderfully crafted and delicious authentic food in a small neighborhood restaurant.
Will definitely return for Porcini.
Was there for dinner after some serious pasta cravings. Unfortunately only the bruschetta was edible. The pasta dishes were under cooked, hard to chew, and sauce was too salty for all three entrees we ordered. Ended up eating on only the mussels from spaghetti allo scoglio. Quite disappointed as the reviews appear to be good, and they even had a full house when we walked in. The server was friendly (except he didnt bring us any bread.. given on a busy night?), and ambiance on the patio was great. Too bad the food didnt live up our expectations.
Great food, a little chilly sitting on the patio but the blankets and heaters were a plus
Very limited seating. Shared bathroom within a building which was not clean. Waitress was nice but stopped to have a cigarette by the railing just near where we were eating. For the food, menu and location of the service and feel didn’t seem to fit.
It was the oddest service we have ever have. To the gal's credit, I think she was very new to Canada and her English was sketchy at best. We asked for coffee. Just simple plan coffee. She brought us the drinks menu. We said, "No, just coffee." She said "oh, okay, coffee." Then promptly forgot about it. When our meals arrived, we inquired about the coffee. "Oh, you want coffee." and she walked away. Then she came back with the drinks menu. "Which coffee?" I gave up and said "Americano". So away she went, came back with the Americano. We asked for milk, because really...we wanted just coffee, but Americano was more easily understood apparently. We were told we couldn't have milk because we ordered an Americano. "No milk, it's Americano". I'm thinking if a guest wants to add milk to their Americano, then it should be their prerogative to do so. There were other minor issues (water not refilled and glasses simply removed, dessert menus not offered; we had to ask for them) We asked for the bill. She said "okay, the bill". Then promptly sat down at a table to eat her staff meal. It was actually becoming quite comical; like a skit from a sitcom show. We asked again for the bill and were very relieved that someone else took our payment. The food was good, we've been several times before and will likely go again. It was just the oddest service (though I understand she was trying, just not quite getting the grasp of it).
I did not get my points for dinning here. Was not great. Probably never go back. Not sure why they are a part of Open Table as they are more of a back door place. Not impressed.
Amazing food and friendly, helpful staff, fun and talented chef.
Definitely going next time I visit Vancouver.
We went for the $99 date night special and it was great! The lobster ravioli was especially delicious, and portions were generous. We had tiramisu (recommended by the server) and it was great as well! The vibe and food felt similar to eating in a piazza in Italy. We will be back for sure :)
The outdoor seating was perfect! The bruschetta with fig jam was a fantastic appetizer! Carbonara was quite tasty. Great wait staff. Highly recommend
Great place! Really good food and great service! Will be back!
Date night meal plus after-dinner drinks and coffee were excellent. Our 5th or so visit. Will come again.
Very warm and welcoming service. The kitchen hums along making fresh pasta dishes and the aromas are outstanding. I will definitely return!
It was so good we made reservations for then next night. Dont skip this place.
Had reservations for 915PM but still didn't receive a table until 10PM.
Food was delicious! Service great! love the location! Overall, awesome!
