High points: We arrived 20 minutes early but were seated right away; my seafood pasta tasted wonderful with a hint of sweetness and the right amount of heat. Pasta itself had a great texture without being undercooked. Low points: the three other pasta dishes were just so-so according to my family. The server seemed rushed and not too engaged. We ordered a side of bread during the meal and it never showed up. After mentioning it at checkout by another server, she promptly apologized and offered a tiramisu on the house, which turned out to be the best thing of the night. It was truly the best tiramisu I have ever tasted! Recommend for the seafood pasta and tiramisu.
Our family of five had a delicious meal here on Sunday night. We will definitely be back.
Amazing venue! You could really feel the family vibe of the restaurant. Great quality and value. Would definitely recommend!
Looking for an Italian restaurant in Yaletown - look no further. Looking for an Italian in Vancouver Robba da Matti should definitely be in your top 3 (only because there are sooo many great Italian places in Van city). Authentic Italian food. Great personalized service (reservations recommended). Good ambiance. Would even recommend taking your mother-in-law there, don't think she will have reasons to complain!
We had a slightly uneven experience at Robba da Matti -- the staff were friendly and helpful, the seating was surprisingly comfortable, the appetizer (bruschetta with prosciutto and fig jam) was really tasty, the wine was good, my pasta was delicious if a little small, and somehow my wife's pasta came without one of the signature ingredients. There were absolutely no scallops in the Spagetti allo Scoglio. It tasted great, but it seemed weird that a dish that's described "cherry tomatoes, scallops and chiles mesh with...." would contain no scallops.
We went for taste of Yaletown, the food was good but not my favorite place I’ve been for fresh Italian, the wine was good and the service was excellent.
Some of the worst service I have ever had. The server was rude and not attentive.
We enjoyed the offerings for the 2019 Taste of Yaletown menu thoroughly!! The panna cotta was superb! The meal was filling and delicious and our server was easy on the eyes! Would definitely come back
Went on a Monday during Taste of Yaletown and it was busy. Service was erratic but enthusiastic. We had the "Date Night" dinner and enjoyed it very much. Food was deliciously fresh and authentic. We would go back again to try other dishes. The cheese on the antipasto plate was especially good.
Amazing food, great service. Will be back.
I went to Robba da Matti as part of Taste of Yaletown. The Insalata Romana was small, very bitter, and otherwise flavourless. the Lobster & Crab Ravioli did not taste like lobster and crab, and was a tasty but oily dish. The Pappardelle “Rosche Rosche” was very tasty, but on the small side. The Tiramisu had way too much coca powder on it, but the other flavours were good. The Panna Cotta was pretty good.
Our server was not attentive and asked for my drink order three time after I stated that I only wanted water. We had to keep flagging her down anytime we needed something. I felt she was not well trained and needs to know not to interrupt people in mid conversation to ask “do you need anything?”
The place was clean but we were packed in like sardines. The tables are small and get cluttered fast.
The $45 for each meal was overpriced by $25. I would pay $20 for that. I would not recommend going here.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant, brought my girlfriend for her birthday and was pleasantly surprised at how a smaller restaurant could make me feel like I was at home. Watching the chefs cook fresh food that tasted amazing was the cherry on top of this great dinner
Good food for Italian restaurant :) ....
Nice place and good food but the waiting time for food was too long. I felt sorry for the service staff bec the kitchen was slow
Delicious food! Highly recommend making a reservation
First time there and the waiter explained every menu item with patience. Food was great
Excellent food, attentive friendly service and a quiet, heated patio. The perfect spot for an intimate unpretentious dinner.
This is my second or third time here. I love it everysingle time! My friend and I got the date night menu and we both ordered the same seafood pasta. The only down fall is the waiter accidently put in the wrong pasta dish for one of us, and the waitress brought us side plates for us to share the pasta until the other one is ready. I didn’t like how it was done. The pasta got cold when it was sitting in the middle of the table; I like to eat the pasta when it’s nice and hot and all to myself. Besides that overall experience was great! The date night menu is definetly worth the value.
Authentic Italian pastas! The spaghetti is done al dente and reminds me of our vacation in Rome. The carbonara and spaghetti alle vongole is delicious. For my birthday, they comped me a tiramisu. The food can take a little while to come, but well worth the wait.
After a small wait for service at our table (it was quite busy), everything went wonderfully. And due to that, the restaurant comped our desserts. Food was delicious as always, and 2 friends who had never been before will be back. Good job, Robba da Matti!
Food was great - the restaurant lacked ambiance - large bright globe lights - had to ask them to turn down the lights a bit - I think since it is so small there goal is to get you in and out - we paid the bill and were asked to leave they needed the table - the table could use candles or little vase of flowers - and get rid of those big globe lights...
Very small dining area. Tables are very close to one another. Luckily we were seated next to a couple that loved conversation. Food was good, service was good. Unfortunately, the whole experience was just okay but not great. This is a fantastic area for a restaurant to thrive. I hope they read this so can come back and have a better experience. They have a lot of potential.
Perfect simple food! Yummmmmm! Love this little space of happiness and good food!
Absolutely fantastic food and service our waiter was incredible, we will be coming here again
Terrible is all I have to say ! I will not recommend anyone to this place ! Oh and if you do decide to eat here don’t ask for parmigiana cheese cus the chef will reject your request and won’t serve you anymore food ! They told us the kitchen was closed and won’t be able to make us anything else at 9:20pm when they close at 10pm ! I will never go back to this restaurant ever!
This is my second time coming to this restaurant and it is still just as amazing as I first remembered it to be. It has a very "mom and pop" feel in a quaint restaurant in busy Yaletown. The food is very straight to point and delicious. This restaurant is a must for you if you are looking true pasta in downtown.
Amazing authentic Italian cuisine! A fantastic experience!
What a gem in Yaletown- glad we found it. Solid Italian food, casual yet intimate vibe place. Great for our anniversary date and also small group (4-6) dinners.
Service wasn’t the best when we went to the restaurant. We ordered a drink that we didn’t like but the server wasn’t helpful with exchanging the drink and said you have to pay for it. Usually a decent restaurant would have been more accommodating. However, the server did get my note about the birthday celebration and brought out an amazing tiramisu. Food was excellent. Just not impressed with our service.
Our favorite restaurant when visiting Vancouver. We absolutely love this place!
Great neighborhood gem.
The restaurant is small and quaint, reservations on weekends is a must if you don’t want to wait.
My husband and I were seated at last table in the restaurant right beside the door to the patio. Not the best seat in the house but it was alright just a bit tight for space.
We had 2 glasses of champagne to start, followed by a cocktail each to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to go for the date night menu which included 2 antipasti, 2 mains, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine (red or white) for $122 CAD. You get complimentary bread and olives to start.
We chose: burrata caprese and beef carpaccio to start followed by the Roche Roche pasta and seafood pasta. For dessert we chose pana cotta and tiramisu. All the food was delicious, portions were good and the wine (red) was also good. We would eat here again for sure. Service was also great...not in your face but friendly. A true gem in the heart of Yaletown for Italian food! Mangia!!!
The food was incredible. We enjoyed every bite. The food tasted so fresh and authentic. My only slight complaint is that this is a very small restaurant, and they position the 2-seater tables within 6 inches of each other. So, it's like you are eating and hearing strangers conversation. I don't think this can be helped, but probaby is good to know before hand.
very delicious food and had a fantastic ambiance! i felt like i was back in italy even despite seeing a soul cycle across the street..
This is our favourite Italian restaurant. Great service, delicious food, best tequila and they treat us well!
Great service and great food
The menu is not extensive but everything we have tried at this restaurant has been wonderful. Fresh, homemade pasta with tasty sauces, crispy bruschetta and perfectly prepared risotto. They have a lovely little patio that is perfect for a nice evening. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely return.
Incredible food... Like eating in Italy! Staff was very friendly and the service was excellent!
This was by far the best restaurant we ate at during our 3 day's Vancouver (and we are rather spoiled). Great Italian food and the staff is nice too. This one you should not miss!
Great experience all around. Food was good, the “date night” option is incredible value and the service was great. We’d come back next time we’re in Vancouver.
