Family owned restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. French with a twist of family traditions and sometimes wild combinations of flavors. Chef Red keeps it simple but puts a lot of time put on his brined and smoked meats.
I had dinner at Robin Square with my daughters - everything was perfect from cocktails to food to too many desserts! Highly recommended.
Food was to die for. The service was outstanding. Will definitely go again
This is a MUST stop when in Montreal! From the quaint, cozy and stylish ambiance, to "mom's" homemade dishes, to the extremely friendly and accommodating staff, this restaurant over-delivers!!!!
I started with a simple salad (yet even that tasted so fresh and local), then had the Mac & Cheese, which came highly recommended...and OMG, it was absolutely delicious!!! Added the homemade habanero mango hot sauce and it elevated the dish to a different level! Again, WOW!!!
I wasn't going to have dessert, but was convinced to try the cheesecake (again, mom's homemade recipe)...and being a cheesecake fan I couldn't turn it down...and boy am I glad I did...the best version of cheesecake that I have ever had!!!!
Oh, and the Americano coffee was great, too! Who would have thought?!
Get to this restaurant as fast as you can...it's more than worth it!!!!
Le service était impeccable. On a beaucoup apprécié la nourriture aussi :)
Excellent food and the service was amazing!
One of the best reservations I’ve ever made- the service was outstanding and the food was even better. The restaurant is very chic but also family run, which gives it a great vibe. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
The food was really good and we love the warmth of the family/owners serving us. On one hand, they were just understaffed that night and there was a delay in getting orders, so I can’t give a perfect 5 for service. On the other hand, we didn’t feel rushed at all, and enjoyed our time. Overall, we had a great time for a friends’ get together dinner.
This small family-run restaurant is a bustling, intimate place where you're almost immediately made welcome; with an open kitchen, some might find it too noisy, but the food is well worth a bit of noise. We had starters of local cheeses and charcuterie, and entrees of smoked duck over their signature mac-and-cheese (more like gnocchi than noodles), and a roasted halibut over a fennel purée, all of which were outstanding. With great food and an infectious joie-de-vivre animating the space and staff, you can't go wrong with Robin Square for an authentic Montréal dining experience. Can't wait to return.
Already recommended Robin Square many times. Love the warm welcome and the amazing food. Can't wait to go back
Great gem of a place in old Montreal with q super vibe and delicious menu. Came there for lunch with a toddler and friends and the staff were AMAZING.
Menu is small but felt like alot of options still and very locally focused with fish meat and pasta specials. The quiche was as light as a pillow and the Mac and cheese was unqtious...just happy comfortable delicious bites with great service
Honestly everything was great except the portion size of our Main course.
Myself and my girlfriend ordered Mac n cheese with the beef brisket which cost $30 each from which Ended up being a starter size. I spent $160 and left the restaurant still hungry l. Macaroni is not expensive why has the portion size dropped by half since I visited your restaurant nearly 10 months ago???
The servers were awesome, very polite and attentive. The swagger platter starter was great as was the calamari.
Honestly it was just the size of the meal and that Myself and my girlfriend were left still hungry is the only downfall, which to me is a big one.
Excellent restaurant ! Aurait avantage de garnir un peu plus la carte des vins, à peine deux vins rouges sous les 60$... Sinon, superbe restaurant et excellent service !
A special meal out to celebrate our visit to Montreal. Amazing, unique food and personal service. Highly recommend!
Excellent quality food and drinks prepared with love and served with joy by the Robin family. We went at 1030pm on New Years Eve and was immediately made to feel warm and welcomed by Sylvia (co-owner) and others. Sylvia has an abundance of energy and took great pains to make our evening enjoyable and special. This is a must-visit place for experiencing Montreal food and charm.
Incredible place with very delicious food.
My husband and I went for New Years Eve dinner and everything was absolutely amazing. We had the soup of the day which was one of the best soups I've ever eaten. We had the lamb meatballs which were just okay. For entrees we had the mac and cheese with brisket and the short rib and they were clean-the-plate good! So delicious. We ended our meal with the special dessert which was a red velvet cake. In addition to the truly phenomenal food, the service was truly outstanding. It was obvious as soon as we walked in the door that everyone working there wanted to make this the best meal you've ever had, and our waitress told us most people working are part of the Robin family. If anything was amiss at our table (cleaned off plates, empty beer or water glass), whoever walked by would immediately fix it. The drinks were great. Our total tab was not as expensive as I would have thought considering we were full for a full 12 hours after that meal! Just a really special and exceptional place that I've already recommended to everyone I've talked to. Plus, very close to the Old Port so nice to walk around before or after.
This is our second New Year’s Eve dinner at Robin square- like last year the food and service was amazing. Counting the days until next year. If your in Montreal, don’t miss out on this gem of a restaurant!! A true québécois experience.
The three of us have shared several dishes and they were all great! Also the desserts were very well made.
Friendly and attentive service and nice ambiance. I’ll come back for sure!
Food was amazing and well priced. We had the pork belly, the macaroni with brisket, and short rib. All were fantastic. Place was small but lovely. Family was welcoming and gracious. Highest recommendation.
Food was pretty good but our entire experience was ruined by the terrible slow and unapologetic service.
Amazing food and service. A very special place. The smell of truffles upon entering set the tone beautifully.
On a getaway in Montreal with our adult children. Excellent meal- food was gourmet without being forced or pretentious. Sample the appetizers and share because each is delicious. Don’t forget a cocktail! We each had different main courses: Short Rib, MAC n Cheese, Pork Belly and Partirdge, with each being excellent. The waiter was extremely friendly and the service attentive.
Everything is outstanding and the food is exquisite I would definitely go again and again
We are Christmas Eve dinner in 2019 here. The meal - from accommodating welcome to final goodbyes with the co-owner blowing us kisses through the window as we left.
When we arrived, we were given a table that was in a location that was too small for two tall people. The restaurant was fully committed for the evening, so we sat in the bar and had two delicious cocktails and a chat with a friendly bartender, who was clearly proud of working here. Our table was quickly ready and we were seated. The co-owner came by and discussed the menu with us. We started with an cream of onion and smoked jalapeño soup that was simple but excellent. We followed with a torchon de foie gras that was served with pickled sea buckthorn berries, candies pecans and a sweet cornbread. It was well done. We had also crispy raclette cheese that was a surprising take on a classic. We shared a homemade pasta Mac and Cheese (which is THE signature dish here) with Mo-Jo duck. The duck was amazing. A confit made sous vide with a mo-jo of citrus, chili’s, and herbs, then smoked and finally cooked crisp to order. It was exceptional. For dessert, we had le pudding chômeur, a québécois specialty, like a bread pudding with a maple syrup sauce. Service was friendly, professional and efficient and the restaurant, fully committed on Christmas Eve, ran smoothly and efficiently, and, though full, was not too loud to enjoy our conversation. This was an excellent experience and we would gladly go back, not just for a special occasion, but anytime we would want a nice meal, in a nice environment, with nice service. The price was a great value for the quality.
Service from Sylvia is fantastic. The Christmas Eve menu was creative and delicious.
Wonderful experience at Robin Square. Everyone, including fellow customers were all friendly.
To be honest, the taste is so so.
Excelente. Muy buena comida.
Beautiful meal, family run restaurant with incredible service and a clear love of serving great food and drink.
Wonderful, family owned restaurant with exceptional service, food, and drink.
Amazing food, amazing vibe, amazing staff. Literally can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Def get the MAC with ham and pork belly. DELICIOUS.
One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Our server was so knowledgeable and went through every menu item to ensure we knew what we were picking! I would go back in a second and recommend to anyone visiting montreal!
It is also family owned and operated :)
The best restaurant in Canada - as usual :) Every aspect of Robin Square is pleasing. Nothing short of a gastronomic symphony with matching service! Thanks again for an excellent evening.
Amazing food, great ambiance, family owned, and it shows with the care and attention they put into their food and customers. So happy we found this place.
Quelle excellente trouvaille!
Lovely little family restaurant. Great service. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was good not great. Just a little over thought out. Pork belly was absolutely delicious. A simpler, more French type menu might be better here.
Delicious! The food was fantastic, amazing service, and great wine!
My friend were visiting Montreal for the first time all the way from Miami, FL. The food here was to die for! One of the owners was serving food and another was the chef. The food was a mix of their traditional family recipes and new creations. The desserts and bread are made by “mom”. This was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! The truffle mac and cheese is divine. C’est si bon!
