Rochester Bistro

Arrived to find our table fur 10 wedges between the bar and a band, which we had no idea would be there. Bar had a very noisy group who insists Ted and standing on top of our table.

Spoke with the Waitress and she quickly moved us to another table, great responsiveness from her - luckily the restaurant was relatively empty.

Food was very slow to arrive, but good when it did.

Band was loud and added little to the ambience of a restaurant that had basically emptied out by the time they starts expect fig out group and some bar flies.

Overall disappointing, have been her before and enjoyed it, but left this fine with little interest in returning anytime soon.

Our server was amazing! She was friendly, extremely helpful with our questions and very knowledgeable regarding the menu. Loved her!

Food and service was great! The noise level was annoyingly high and it was difficult to have a conversation.

The fiery pasta was super fiery.

I thought the food was subpar for the price point. The lamb came with blood on the plate. The coconut shrimp was an add shape. The Tiramisu was out of this world! That is the only reason I would return.

Understaffed for the volume of customers. Worst salmon I have ever had. Portions very small for prices.

Very nice! We had to add one person to our reservation and they were very accommodating. We got a very nice table right next to the windo so we could look at the lights outside.

Christmas lights

Great food, nice atmosphere. But only was checked on once by server. Bread came with the meal instead of before, and never got a refill on water. I will definitely go back- maybe the servers and busboys were having a tough day.

I have been to this local restaurant twice in the past week. The appetizers were great and my meals were equally wonderful both visits. Attentive staff, excellent and affordable meal options with a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Food was great! Server was fantastic. Took a very long time for food and drinks to be served.

First time here we were with friends. Tried a variety of dishes and found most very nice. The Antipasto
Misto (cheese and charcuterie mix) was okay, the cheeses were not spectacular, the meats were a very
nice mixture. The music started near the end of our meal and was too loud for my taste. Overall a
very nice option in the Rochester area.

This was our first time and we were 6. While my pasta with lamb ragout was very good, the other meals were good but not something out of the ordinary. Service was very nice and attentive. There is enough menu items that we agree another visit is necessary before giving it a final opinion.

We absolutely love the food! The service is iffy at best. The management is very poor! We've been coming for a long time and always treated with little regard. On this last visit, we had bugs crawling on our table and and a person at the table! Unacceptable. Management was notified and did nothing. We have been to this establishment multiple times with friends and clients and have always been let down. No more!

Service was good, all of us thought the food tasted really good but my only knock is I ordered the shrimp pasta which was that nights special and the shrimp were tiny little shrimp and rather tasteless. I expected a nice size quality shrimp with that meal.

We've eaten here many times, but this dinner was not up to their standards. The server brought five meals out for our table of six and then asked if there was anything else she could bring. We said she could bring our friend's dinner. She looked at him and asked, "Now what did you order sir?"
Not their best effort, but we'll go back and try it again.

I went to Oakland University as an undergrad and had visited a number or restaurants in downtown Rochester. This was my first visit to Rochester Bistro. The atmosphere is one that suggests intimacy more consistent with groups of two. No more than four. Service was exceptional. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and attentive. The bartender knew her craft well. We began with the grilled octopus. It was tender with a little char on the outside. Perfectly prepared. I had the scallops for the entree. Again, very well prepared. When in Rochester I intend on visiting the Rochester Bistro again.

Favorite restaurant in downtown Rochester. Quality food and great service! Highly recommend!

We find the food at Rochester Bistro consistently very good. We also enjoy the option of ordering small plates which allows us to enjoy different types of food in a meal.
Our service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly wait staff.

This was the second time we dined here with our best couple friends. Only a couple tables on a Sunday evening - the other table was quite loud so we sat in the bar which was very cozy with large TV's playing football games. Nice waitress a little undertrained-she said there were short ribs on special but didn't know anything else about them. She came back a little later and said they were braised so didn't sound very inspiring. We ordered the new York strip, the salmon, the veal chop and the lemon chicken - all were excellent including the Italian wedding soup and house salad. Everything was fresh tasting, creatively prepared and nicely presented. Will definitely be back.

This was my first time to the Rochester Bistro and I couldn't be happier. The food, wine and service exceeded expectations. We ate earlier than a typical dinner time yet the restaurant had many seats available so there was no wait. Don't hesitate to give it a try.

The atmosphere was quiet and homey. Our service was excellent. The food was delicious and the menu options were great. Wine selection was wide and varied and the cocktails were fantastic. Would definitely recommend this for a date night, or any special event with a small group.

the service outstanding the food good have been to most restaurants in the area and i thought the food compared to the others did not stand out i will go back to try once again

Seems small but once you step inside it’s very long and has some good space. The atmosphere was very classy and it’d be something that I can go back to with my friends and or family again. Definitely worth the it and the spot couldn’t be better since it’s downtown Rochester. Service didn’t disappoint even knowing that my party was huge and there was really only one of them (not that our waitress needed help). Overall me and my party were happy.
