Great location and beautiful views. Unfortunately understaffed, but our waitress handled it like a champ with a positive attitude. Shrimp was undercooked, otherwise food was great. Bar menu is outstanding. Several unique and tasty drinks created by the head bartender. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my meal at Rock House. I had the option to eat indoors our outside. It was such a nice day so I chose outside to appreciate the view of the trees. The waitress recommended the chicken for dinner. It was a generous portion and very delicious! The meal came with two side dishes. She did state that they sell out of the chicken and I can certainly understand why! The waitress provided friendly and prompt service. The glasses, dishes, utensils and napkins were of high quality. I would highly recommend dining at Rock House if you are in the Hocking Hills area:)

It took a long time to get things. Dinner was cold. I asked the hostess if there could be something special for my husband’s birthday and she said sometimes they give out a free slice of cake.

We had a reservation for 8:30pm, and when we arrived half of the restaurant had chairs upside down as if they were already cleaning to go home. There were about 5 other tables with people sitting and eating still. We asked the waitress if they were getting ready to close and she said that we were the last reservation of the evening, but to take our time and it was no problem. By the time the food came out, all of the tables around us had chairs up. There were a few couples eating outside still, but we were the last ones inside. The staff started the vacuum while we were eating and we felt like we needed to hurry. All in all the waitress and food were good, but that made for a disappointing experience. We would not have scheduled a reservation that late if we had known. It made for a disappointing anniversary dinner. :(

We were not impressed with Rockhouse Restaurant. We waited 45 minutes on a Pork chop that was was too tough to eat(which was a second choice because they were out of first request.) Pesto Shrimp dish was dry. Got the appetizer and entrees at the same time. Waitress was nice but didn’t see her much. We will probably plan to make the drive to other establishments when we come back.

We recently stayed at the Lodge and ate here multiple times. It generally felt like the restaurant was in disarray due to staffing issues. The service we had was great, no complaints there. The food was just subpar. Breakfast was good but not worth the price. Dinner, the fries were not good at. Kids chicken tenders were hard. Quality-wise just wasn’t there which surprised us given how nice the Lodge is. We hope they continue to improve!

The only reason I gave 4 stars for service is they don't seem to have a designated host and you end up waiting for someone to come seat you. Servers have all been fabulous. We ate here three times during our stay at the lodge. Food was very good. Better than we had anticipated. My husband's Shrimp and Grits was amazing. Not just your typical shrimp on grits. This was a well thought out entree. My pork chop was amazing. House salads and home made dressings kept us ordering them for every meal. Mashed were great as were the grits. Molten Lava cake was insanely good. Squash really needs an update. Just grilling them is not enough. Some flavor would be great. Still, overall, would highly recommend.

The Rock House Restaurant is a great place to enjoy an evening of great food with friends. The view from the dining room is spectacular and, with the colors of Autumn fast approaching, will be something to see! Our waitress, Carol, was top notch and the food was wonderful, with perfectly-sized proportions. Be sure to try their bread pudding! If you’re looking for a special place for a special evening - try the Rock House Restaurant!

The Rock House Restaurant is in the beautiful new Hocking Hills Lodge & Conference Center, the views are lovely and the overall ambiance is very nice. However, the menu is limited and lackluster. Two of the dinners I tried were well below par for an upper scale restaurant. The catfish platter was (obviously) frozen, but not properly dried when defrosted, because the fish was wet and tasteless. The chicken tenders were akin to a seven year old meal at the big M and the promised Natural Skin on Fries were from a bulk bag of those seasoned fries one receives at a diner, not appetizing or even hot. Considering one is a captive audience, I was very disappointed with the variety of menu items. You can do MUCH better in such a lovely new lodge.

I made reservations several days ahead, stating that it was a Birthday dinner in the box provided. I was never asked for my name upon arrival, and no mention was made of the Birthday. We both enjoyed the "Small Lodge Salad" which had fresh, crisp veggies and delicious homemade dressings. I ordered the "Thick Cut Boneless Ohio Pork Chop" and my girlfriend had the "Pan Seared Salmon". My chop arrived very overcooked and dry with a cold center so it was sent back. The second one they brought (within a minute) was warm, but still very overcooked, dry, and hard to cut with a steak knife. It only had about a tablespoon of the maple syrup sauce. I ate about half of it before running out of enough sauce to make it moist enough to eat, so I left the rest. The baked potato seemed like it had been sitting all day, and reheated in a microwave. My girlfriends Salmon was cooked just right for her, and she loved the hollandaise sauce with it. We ordered the Molten chocolate cake which came with a tablespoon sized dollop of ice cream. It was OK, but not nearly as decadent as I had hoped for, and the "Molton" center wasn't.

Had reservations but had to wait. Waiting area not big enough. Waiter very nice however they all seemed very busy and needed more help. Ask 3 different waiters for ketchup and mayonnaise before I received it and by that time food was almost gone. Get some prepackaged condiments and have on table or so waiters can have in their pockets. Wanted paper napkins to put under drinks but they did not have any I had to go to the bar to get some for our table. No tartar sauce for fish!!! Cheeseburgers were very good.

Our first visit to Rock House. You can’t beat the view and my salad was good. But that was about it. Burger was very dry and over cooked. My Husbands wings and his salad were not good at all. The waiter did comp us a dessert because of my burger which we appreciated. Asked for a number pf things and had to remind the waiter about them - never did get some of them. Service was extremely slow. Others who arrived and ordered well after us got their food way before we did (different server) believe our server may have been new, not sure. Overall, we were disappointed, which was a shame.

I am not sure our server liked waiting on us. People in our group had to ask for refills and something just seemed off. Maybe our server was having a bad day but did not seem particularly friendly.

We enjoyed our dinner very much. Olivia was our server and she was as nice as could be. We had several questions about the new lodge and the view outside and she had or found answers for us. Food and drinks were delicious. The lodge restaurant is beautiful. Very nice setup. Good job Ohio State Park system/ODNR!

I made a reservation a couple days ahead of time. We arrived for our reservation and was seated. We sat for 25-30 and not one waiter had come to talk to us or get our drinks. We left after 25-30 minutes of waiting. The restaurant didn’t seem busy but no one acknowledged us after getting sat by the hostess.

Beautiful outside dining on the deck. Food was amazing. My husband had the pork chops and I had an eclectic dinner of Caveside Salad and the best Brussel sprouts plus corn on the cob. We finished with the berry cobber with vanilla ice cream. Our server was wonderful.

We were very disappointed, the dinner was served before we were given our salad, , the steak we ordered was medium, it was totally done, our guest ordered theirs medium rare and it was also done, no pink whatsoever, and baked potato was over cooked. We were so excited to visit the new restaurant, but such a let down. The steak at $30.00 was way over priced, very thin cut and over cooked. We visited the restaurant several times in the old lodge, food was wonderful. We will never be back and will be telling our friends to not waste their time or money!

I ordered a salad and French onion soup, and the salad with its homemade French dressing was awesome! The French onion soup, however, was not so great. The other people at the table said their food was good and they ordered grinders, and one got the fish sandwich with fries and said that was good. My brother also got a cup of sweet potato soup, which I tasted and it too, was VERY good. Now, when we got the bill there was an additional fee...a beautification fee? I asked the waitress what that was about and she said to keep the park clean. This cannot be, as I worked for parks and know that the taxes I pay goes toward ODNRs budget for maintenance of the parks. So, I asked a gentleman I believed to be a manager, and he said for the new lodge. So, it seems that when the old lodge burned down and they built this huge new one with its pools and rooms and hot tubs and restaurant, they didn't use the insurance money from that claim? None if the taxes that I pay goes toward that? The outrageous price they charge for a room there doesn't help pay for that?? My question is who really knows what that extra fee is for, and why am I being charged for it by deciding to eat at a new lodge in a state park when I pay my taxes every year? The food, service, and atmosphere did not warrant this and I will choose elsewhere to eat from now on.

Had a reservation and was promptly seated. Server (who was new) had water on the table snd took our drink order very quickly. Ordered wine and it was brought out in minutes. Spouse had the chicken which she said was good. I ordered a steak medium and it was way over cooked. Food was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. Service was very attentive. Just very disappointed in the $30 steak.

Highly recommend going for lunch to enjoy the unique forager burger, so good! The salads and chicken and rice soup were out of this world. All meals eaten here were amazing. The staff and views were awesome.
