   Wish we didn’t go on a Sunday as we would have liked the full menu, not the Sunday lunch and the staples. Could have mentioned that on the website. Food was great though.

   The food was nice. Although they didn’t have my first choice, The service was good too. Sadly the ambiance wasn’t as good as it could be as there was one other couple there and they left before we had had our main course. Was surprised it was so quiet.

   First time visit, very impressed. Wonderful calm atmosphere, lovely staff and great food. The only thing we did not enjoy was the mojito but cocktails can be hit and miss most places. Definitely recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐

   Love eating here. The mackerel pate is outstanding. The accompanying salad would be a delicious starter in its own right! The plant based burger was very good and the chips were very good indeed. The braised fennel on mash was tasty but a bit watery. Would have been better with roast potatoes. Needed something crispy with it. The brownie was scrumptious. Always great service there. Fast, friendly and attentive. Will be back again soon!

   Hot plates made a big difference,food was excellent all cooked brilliantly service was spot on the only thing I would improve is the Yorkshire pudding still a little dry and powdery but a nice bit of gravy soon sorts that out

   Maybe serve crackers with the pig platter. It was absolutely delicious, but heavy going with bread. Perhaps cucumber or something palette cleansing.

   Food was fabulous as per usual. Sadly there was a problem with the heating and we had to sit in our coats as it was cold, so we rushed through the meal but thoroughly enjoyed the food. Ther waitress kept apologising for the lack of heat which we appreciated.

   We’ve been here before and the food was great. The only issue we had was this time the boiler was broken and it was freezing so we ate with our coats on! The food was lovely tho and although a bit pricey we enjoyed it

    It was the first time we had been there and we will definitely go again. We had lunch on Sunday. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor was tasteful and there was plenty of space around our table. The room was also warm, which was needed after coming in from the cold. And last but not least, the food was excellent.

    Unfortunately it was all but empty there , which is a shame . Staff friendly . My daughter loved her food . Basic vegetarian food , which I didn’t really fancy either , to be honest … I don’t really want to have a burger in the evening . The restaurant was very cold … 1 person had kept their coat on all the way through , another put hers on during the meal and I had mine wrapped around me , unfortunately not what you want when you’re out celebrating a birthday

    Food was very nice but a little overpriced for just a burger and fries. I don't think they anticipated the amount of people there for the fireworks as you couldn't move in the restaurant where we were seated and the staff were overun. I pre booked a table but our food came out in cardboard boxes even tho the people just there for the fireworks had plates. I would still go back to try there normal menu when there isn't an event on to give them another chance

    Thoroughly recommend the venue, service and food. We had the Hake & Chips and Chicken Burger, all well presented, lovely and hot, good portion size, really enjoyed the evening. Always lovely wine at Rock Salt too.

    Service was good (but we were the only ones in the restaurant). Not a lot of choice one the menu and it was over priced. As I mentioned the restaurant was empty and the waiter put us on a table for two close to a wall near the entrance when all the other tables were free. However, the food we had was nice.

    Four out of six of the party found fault with their meal.This ranged from overcooked chips that were hard to sauces not being as described. Pudding disappointing for young people being very small for the full sized price eg. biscuit accompaniment button size not biscuit sized. Needs to be better described. Service for drinks was slow. Dog friendly good but seated very close to other people with dogs when there was plenty of space. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished but you can no longer stay there with a dog.

    Great quality food and at a good price My only moan would be that my roast beef lunch I only had 1 small slice of beef and wasn’t offered any horseradish Everything else was great my wife had the pork and said that was also great

    Went for my birthday last evening and was really pleased to see lobster on the special bath myself and partner had the lobster and Mackerel also the trout to start . Was very impressed to fir the first time in a long time we were actually asked if we were ready fir our main meal . The good was lovely and the service was great . Thankyou and well done really impressed

    Very disappointing visit, waited over 50mins for our food (with no reassurance) then the beef was so tough and overcooked it couldn't be cut and the roast potatoes were so undercooked they were rock solid, staff were only attentive after we complained!

    Second time of eating lunch at Rocksalt. Very laid back atmosphere, with good service. Excellent food. I shared the fish platter which was delicious.Our 4 month old Grandson was made welcome too. Overall would highly recommend it
