    The rolls were outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful in selecting and explaining the rolls. It was so much fun watching the chefs prepare the food in front of us. We sat at the counter. I would definitely recommend Roka Akor and next time I’ll try the steaks. They looked amazing.

    We had a party of 11 for Restaurant Week. We were seated at two adjacent tables. The menu was clearly explained. When the appetizer course arrived, each part of it was clearly explained. Everything was truly delicious. The surprise was the shisito peppers with bonita flakes--everyone loved them! Those of us who had the black cod were the most satisfied with our entrees. The lamb chops--under seasoned, and the beef--a little too rare. Those who had sake said that was the best choice in alcohol. Considering the size of the party, the service was excellent--dishes cleared promptly, individual requests addressed perfectly, and servers were extremely polite. Our only issue was the noise level. The restaurant was full, so even with a table of six, we had difficulty hearing each other. We are all planning on coming back when it is a little less crowded. Fabulous place!

    This restaurant has some of the best food in Scottsdale as well as the service. Last night they missed one of our entrées and we had to wait a fairly long time to get it not only did Manager come by and apologize but compass for that entrée as well as supplying our table with a lavish dessert tray. Not everybody’s perfect and not every establishment is perfect and when they make a mistake they first up to it and made it right and we’re more than gracious to us. This is one of the best restaurants in Scottsdale.

    The dumpling were great as was the edemane. The first glass of wine sampled was sour, but the next was good but more expensive. The Big problem was the steak came just luke warm. Cod was good but not great. I've eaten here before and just expect almost perfection. Not this time.

    Our waiter, Will, was outstanding as was the food. We had Will before as a waiter and cannot say enough nice things about his skills and dedication to doing a great job. One problem is the kitchens just crank out food too fast so you cannot pace. I know Will was trying to pace it and could see him trying to manage this but at times things just came in bunches. I can appreciate the complexity with several kitchens and the fact that ordered a lot with some people not eating the sushi. However, hope you can give some thought about how to better allow for a paced meal.

    Food and service were great. However we booked a 8:30 reservation and we were not told until we got there that the kitchen closed at 8:50. Dinner was rushed and uncomfortable.

    Went to Roka Akor for restaurant week and it was wonderful. Friendly staff, knowledgeable about the food items on the special “Restaurant Week menu” with good explanations. The bartenders were funny and very knowledgeable also. Looking forward to returning to try the regular menu.

    We felt very rushed and although it was the first day of restaurant week they didn't need to rush us. Our entrees came before we had a chance to even order wine or finish the appetizers and the bill came with desert. By the time we finished the appetizer and start on the flank steak it was room temperature. The fish though was amazing and wrapped in a large leaf it stayed warm. They lost out because I always order wine but we didn't have a chance to.

    The entire experience was stellar! we opted for the Omakase, which was spectacular. The service was great, food was amazing, drinks were great. All in all not one complaint. This place is expensive, but in my opinion worth it. I would say the portions on the Omakase were a bit smaller than I'd have at other venues of similar price point, but the flavor on the food easily compensated for the minute portion sizes. I'll definitely be coming back here!

    My husband and I went here for a date night. We decided to try the Omakase. It was amazing. Everything was perfect!! . Definitely worth every penny. I will definitely go back again. Our waiter was very nice and attentive.
