Root & Bone
Best food I have had anywhere in the world. That includes Paris and Lyon. The chef is a gifted genius. Servers professional and knowledgeable. Wonderful!!
What a gem! This was a fabulous meal- loved everything! Service was great - our server was terrific. Will definitely be back!
The servers are friendly and welcoming and the food is amazing!
Excellent food and service but very high noise level. It was a bit difficult to converse
Awesome in a quaint town! Attention to detail is impressive.its one of our fav farm to table restaurants.
Root and Bone achieves their goal combining local ingredients with innovative flavours. Our dining experience was most enjoyable and will return soon.
Hats off once again to the gang at Root & Bone! The menu is ever changing and the food is outstanding. You won't find anything like it in Niagara. It's certainly a destination restaurant, worth the drive!
Service and food was amazing.
The 2 seater tables by the window are great however, if you are taller or wear high heals it’s a tad uncomfortable.
I’ll wear flats next time!
A great place to unleash your inner 'Foodie'! The menu is interesting with a focus on local ingredients.
Wonderful food & ambiance!! Definitely a new favourite!
I had the Buffalo Rib Eye, it was brilliant. My wife had the Scallops. We were regulars when it was Zest. I love most of the changes to the atmosphere. Service is always good, the seating had me looking out of the window, which took off some of coolness of the experience, because I could not see the kitchen. They reconfigured the seating to get some extra spaces, which puts one person from each table at the window facing the street. Part of the magic, at least for me, is to watch everything going on in the kitchen. New menu out in less than two weeks, we are looking forward to it.
Amazingly delicious vegan/ vegetarian options prepared with creativity and care.
The restaurant has a chic casual and friendly atmosphere and our table of four thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Had a wonderful experience at Root and Bone on a week night and it was quiet, service was excellent and food was fantastic. Thank you Root and Bone for such a memorable evening! Will definitely see you again!
Fantastic evening, my wife and I had a beautiful evening :)
Another wonderful meal at Root and Bone! The excellent food and service make this our favourite restaurant.
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey, but the quality is certainly there to support the price, both in food and service. We found the restaurant to be very noisy which did take away a bit from the ambiance.
This was our first visit to Root & Bone and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The staff was energetic and helpful. Our one complaint was the noise level. There was a group of about 8 people at a table and 2 of the guests were extremely loud. Perhaps pictures or some kind of sound muffling would help. I practically had to shout at my husband. Does not add to the ambiance.
Otherwise a great evening.
Our group of eight was celebrating a fun reunion. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Root&Bone. The scallops were amazing, the venison superb, the lamb delicious! The desserts were so very yummy. It was fun to watch the “kitchen in action” from the mirrored reflection. Our server was excellent, the ambience-warm and welcoming. Yes the price tag for the evening was a little steep...but very enjoyable!
Visiting here from Arizona and decided to take family out for a nice supper and decided to try the Root and Bone. In my working life I have travelled all over the world and eaten in many fine restaurants. In my opinion The Root and Bone is one of the best. The food was brilliantly prepared, staff friendly and attentive and a good time was had by all. A great place to go to celebrate a special occasion.
Amazing food. best to sit at kitchen counter to watch the chefs perform. Food was piping hot, perfectly prepared and perfectly seasoned.
Enjoyed every dish offered in the buffet. Each dish had it's own distinctive flavour and everything was very fresh. Choice of entrée was great and we each enjoyed what we ordered. Very comfortable no one rushing us to hurry. Great fun to watch the kitchen work...all done with energy and a smile.
Superb! Excellent value, everything we tasted was out of this world and Loved that the kitchen was open. Will definitely be returning to this local hotspot.
A little pricey but excellent food. Salads were fantastic. Entree choices are a little limited but very well prepared and presented.
Lovely as always. Food was absolutely amazing, service was exceptional. This is our go-to restaurant in Niagara for treating ourselves to a nice meal. Prices are average to Toronto restaurants at the same level. You won't be disappointed by Chef Ray’s menu (he is the Executive Chef at Fallsview Casino Resort)!
What a wonderful experience and excellent food. We got to speak to the co owner/chefs wife and heard about their story. Will for sure go back.
Always a wonderful evening at the restaurant! Food is amazing and the open concept to view the chief (and staff) preparing it all only adds to the ambiance. True gem in our little town💗
Fantastic meal & wonderful service! Root & Bone is quickly going to become a favourite!!
Everything was superb! Loved the open kitchen, speaking with the Chef as he prepared our meals. Presentation on plates: beautiful! Taste: incredible! This place is a gem and we’ll be back often :-)
Loud patrons, despite only about half of the tables being occupied, distracted from the experience, the more so when one departing party called out across the room to another still seated. Obviously not within the control of the establishment--more a statement on the continued decline in public manners. That said, hard surfaces promote prolonged echo, and quiet conversation was difficult even minus shouty exits. Closer to home, the waiter continually referred to my wife as, "Dear," which was overly familiar in any event, the more so coming from someone so young. "Ma'am" and "sir" are all that are needed. Finally, the lack of an amuse bouche, and bread, was a disappointment for such an expensive menu.
The entree choices are exceptional and unique. The service and ambiance are exactly what you’d expect from a fine dining restaurant. We’ve already referred our friends! Thanks for a great evening!
Service is always excellent, food is amazing
The care, detail and quality of all ingredients make for a delicious dinner! Top notch! Lamb and trout were delish!!
Fantastic atmosphere, and great food. The service was spot on!
Food was fantastic, service top notch. We will definitely be back!
A nice meal. I had the fritters as an appetizer. They were very average. Too beady and mealy. Not enough flavor. My entree, beef tenderloin was excellent. The root veggies tasty. It is noisy as it is very small and others are loud talkers. Also, tasty bread with flavored butters would be a great addition as they serve no breads to start the meal. The culinary experience could improve. The service was attentive and very gracious. All in all, a nice experience for a small village eatery.
Great experience, friendly service and outstanding food., albeit a tad pricey.
The noise level was too loud for comfortable dining (music). It did not lend to hold an easy conversation. Paying $5.65 for bread to go with the appetizer and wine is inappropriate, considering the price of the meal.
Dinner was amazing. Shared cheese platter to start had variety and paired so well together with variety of tastes and textures. Great to chat with chef as well about our dinner and the restaurant.
Definitely to become a regular dinner spot.
This was our second time and it again did not disappoint! The food is to die for, so tasty and easy on the eyes as well! Both servers we had made us feel special and at home. Don't change a thing! We will be back I'm sure for a 3rd 4th and many more visits! Can't wait! Well done!❤️
Delicious food! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of our meal. We tired the pork belly appetizer and the chickpea fritters to start. The pork belly melted in your mouth. The fritters had a pumpkin kimchi which was amazing. For our mains, my husband had the beef tenderloin and short rib and I had the short rib and wild mushroom ravioli. The meat was so tender you barely needed a knife. The flavours in the ravioli were out of this world. I would definitely recommend Root & Bone.
