Consistent and enjoyable.
The food is delicious. The service outdoors could be more attentive - we felt forgotten at moments.
Very enjoyable dining experience. Delicious food and drinks. Attentive service that did not rush. Perfect location if going to a show at Lincoln Center
Love the food here. Always consistent and our waiter was great!!
Our food came out cold. This was our first visit for over 2 years, and we used to love it. May try it again sometime but not for a while. My heart goes out to restaurants right now because I know staff turnover is high, but our waiter was not very friendly nor attentive.
Great staff, food was espectacular, love the ambiance
Can’t wait to go back
Terrible service, and the food was just okay this time. The guac wasn’t flavorful and the carne assada was nothing like before.
Slow service. Served entrees before appetizers.
First time back to this long-term favorite restaurant after the onset of COVID-19, I found the tastes I longed for, wonderful, but the portions -- especially of the guacamole -- most disappointingly small/tiny. We all suffered during this period. But that doesn't justify stinginess. I hope this is just a temporary overreaction. So I will recommend the restaurant, as I always have, but with caution.
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Service was not very attentive but the food and the ambience was.
After opera date with husband, one of our favorite spots. Missed having the guacamole made at the table but it was just as tasty. Great margaritas, enchiladas and quesadillas!
Most unfortunate. I have dined at Rosa Mexicano for many special occasions and love the cuisine but this was not a good dining experience. I made a reservation in Open table at 10 p.m after the ballet at Lincoln Center. Why accept late night reservations if you do not offer quality service to your patrons? We were seated downstairs with a lot of noise, uncomfortable seating and terrible atmosphere. Only after I asked twice to be seated upstairs did they change our table. There were many patrons dining upstairs. We ordered the special October regional cuisine menu and a bottle of wine. We were RUSHED, half way through our appetizers our entrees came and the server put it on our table, crowding us. Then the lights came on upstairs! It changed the whole experience. Patrons started leaving. We ate quickly, didn't finish dessert and asked for it to be packed. No coffee or tea. After not going out due to 1.5 years of the pandemic, and my sister came from France to celebrate her 60 birthday, this was an unfortunate dining experience. I will not support this restaurant again. Poor management. Most unfortunate.
Sorry but food overall was not good. Chicken quesadillas were awful and rice and beans even worse.
Service was slow. A line to get into the hostess. Table wasn’t ready despite a reservation.
Food was not seasoned and tasted lackluster.
Fresh guacamole was good but very small portion
Overall would not go back
Only advantage was it was across the street from Lincoln Center
No checking of vaccinations for most; no requirement for masks; allowing a small dog at a nearby table because the diner said it was a service dog, sitting on her lap. Will not eat hear again.
This was our first time back since Covid. From the moment we walked inside to the time we left we were made to feel like we were the only customers in the restaurant. The service and the food were outstanding. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. It did not disappoint.
Appetizer was delicious. Entree was good but should have been served with a fish fork. Dessert was good, but not enough ice cream.
Food was very good. Server was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the food took longer than preferred to get to the table.
Awful, understaffed, waited along time for any service.
Food and drinks are way over priced and the quality has gone down . This is the 2nd time .
Steak quesadilla were over spiced mushed meat and not pieces of steak.
Have eaten here several times over the years . Never again. It was disgusting and embarrassing to take someone out and have such poor service and quality.
Shame on you Rosa Mexicano . You just lost a customer.
Great food. Great service. Super nice staff.
They appear to be very understaffed. The service was incredibly slow and the staff needed prompting. The food was under seasoned and cold when it was finally served. I have eaten here several times in the past because of its proximity to Lincoln Center but will not eat here again
restaurant looks not very well kept. Plates were old and broken. service was not clean. In general looks like restaurant is going down hill. Sad to say, love the blue wall. It use to be a nicer place. food was just OK
Nice to be back at our favorite pre-opera restaurant. We missed it. Their Covid precautions were great. Our only criticism was the frozen pomegranate margaritas did not taste the same. Much more tart than they used to be. What happened?
Food was excellent as always. Brunch portions a bit small. Server was average at best
excellent food. the wait was a little too long for both our food and drinks. They never returned with extra utensils.
I loved the food tbh. My mom had the quesadilla with beans and I had the churrro French toast. Everything was bursting flavors and some of the best Mexican food. I will be back with my family
loud, smelly and food was mediocre. also very slow service
Had the fixed dinner and the guacamole. The guacamole is a must have. It's delicious. The enchiladas were a bit bland, but good. The tilapia was the whole fish! We had a great experience except toward the end, they weren't as attentive and it took awhile to get the bill. Nevertheless, we will definitely be coming back! The fixed menu is an incredible value.
Only gave for noise because we ate outside and it being Friday night, the Mt Sinai ambulance were very busy. Not fault of restaurant. We really like their outdoor setup. Waiter was excellent helping me choose a new Gluten Free entree which I hadn’t tried before and it was excellent. Will return soon!
Love the margaritas and table-side gaucamole
Terrible service. So many mistakes by multiple members of the staff. Guacamole was $30….$30……..for guacamole……
Saw the waiter twice the entire night. Terrible experience.
Terrible food. Very disappointed.
Delicious duck breast with blueberry chipolte sauce, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Great value.
Service was terrible. Guacamole was unrecognizable. I asked for Margarita without salt. It came with salt. Much too noisy.
Service was seriously disappointing. We had been here before for drinks and had a great time. Make OpenTable reservations and were told to wait, okay no problem. Then taken upstairs and there was NO ONE there. Not sure what we were waiting for, maybe short on staff? Waiter was terrible. Couldn't give the time of day. Never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks or even water. Never asked how our food was (which was delivered by someone else, so we really never even saw our waiter again until we asked for the check while he was passing by.). Won't come back.
Excellent food. Great service early in the evening slowing down a little late in the meal. But overall we enjoyed our visit and would definitely come again.
Rosa Mexicano - old reliable - everything still fresh and good - 2 years later to return to Lincoln Center and RM was great - but man was our waiter GROUCHY!
Excellent service from waiter, but after he took our dinner order (immediately following guacamole and drinks) it took almost 40 minutes for our dinner to arrive. Instead of a leisurely dinner with dessert, we had to eat quickly and leave in order to arrive at Lincoln Center in time for a performance.
Rosa Mexicano remains one of our go-to restaurants when we come to New York for the opera. The food and service are always reliable. This time we had the chef's special three course meal, which was quite tasty and a great value at $38. The room always has an energetic feel, but is not overly noisy.
