The host was able to make a table for 3 on the balcony. He went above and beyond! Enjoyed listening to the street violinist, watching people and enjoying a delicious meal. Lived up to expectations! We made reservations a few months in advance and glad we did as the wait times were very long for those without. Loved our experience and will be back.

The grilled oysters were very good. The shrimp platter was just ok. Shrimp was very coated and mushy. The service was not good. Started out good then got overwhelmed and that was the end of that. Too hot in the building for anything spicy. Overall mediocre.

We had a lovely time and the food was amazing! Oyster Duo was great time experience for stuffed oysters and the taste of new orleans was awesome. Service was great with Anya and Ole Bay at the door. I commend him for having to deal with rudeness all day. Its a must return too.

30 min to get our order taken, ordered refills when our food finally came refills didn’t arrive until right before we where done eating bill came in less than 5 min after our refills where brought asked for a bag to bring left overs arrived 15 min after I had asked for it.. horrible service but good food

Our waiter, Terrill, couldn't have been better. Fast, professional, and attentive. The food was excellent, and the location is perfect. I'll be back to Royal House every time I visit New Orleans.

This place is exceptional overall. The food was great, the service was great. Ada was our server and she was knowledgeable on the menu and very hospitable to all of us. We all agreed that this was probably one of the best dinners we’ve ever had. Highly recommend the seafood ravioli, shrimp and grits and the oyster duo!! Literally the best oysters I’ve had in my entire life.

Frankly very Lackluster, if you want to go to a place in sweats and a t shirt than I suppose this is just fine. The service was dismal, dishes piled up in public view and they served me an old fashioned in a plastic cup with a maraschino cherry. Chicken was great.

We were a bit disappointed in the Royal House. The food was descent and very much basic. I was expecting a little more "wow factor" considering the reviews. Price wise, for what we got I think it was fair based on other places we dined while in New Orleans. Our host was very nice but our waitress was a little less than average, she seem very put out when we asked for salt/pepper or ranch for our appetizer, stating with a big sigh that she had to go back downstairs to get it. I wouldn't say avoid, but it wouldn't be a place at the top of my list to return to during my next stay.

Alittle disappointed, we ate here 2 years ago and it was the best, my daughter requested we eat her 21st birthday meal here, we came back to celebrate her birthday. We were seat by the window when there was a band playing outside 50 feet away so we had no conversation, the server was inattentive, could have cared less that we were there for a birthday and when we asked questions she seemed annoyed, basically we felt we were inconveniencing her,honestly I can't even remember what I ordered, the band finally stopped playing so at least we were able to talk about half way through the meal, my daughter didn't like how her drink tasted and when I said something to the server she said then she shouldn't have ordered it. We talked about how different our experience was compared to 2 years ago. I place that on how the server treated us. I would still recommend Royal House unless a band is playing outside.

Don’t bother to make reservations because they are not honored. While the food was good, the service was poor. Waitress seemed angry, never checked on us to ask if we needed something. When we needed things, she want around and neither was anyone else. They seemed short staffed. I had to get up to get crackers, ketchup, etc. The ambience was fine-typical of what to expect in Nola French market. What I did NOT expect was having a reservation and then being told the wait was 45 min. along with an apathetic attitude to our plight.

This is a cool little spot that had great service and really good food. The waiter was great (older gentleman with long hair) and was extremely helpful even with recommendations! The only thing that I wish was different, the appetizer (sampler) could have been a little bit larger of a portion but other than that this was really enjoyable. Highly recommend.

The lobster ravioli was delicious. The sauce so rich and flavorful. My husband enjoyed every one of the four sampler dishes. Royal House did an excellent job social distancing the tables and sanitizing. We felt very comfortable dining upstairs. The only downside was the cold breeze from the balcony doors being left open often.

We went during Thanksgiving with our daughter to celebrate her graduation from college. She raved about the ravioli. I loved the chargrilled oysters and even ordered another plate. I don’t like oysters. However, I read a review that said try the chargrilled oysters. So I did and loved it!
