Exquisite menu and ambiance. Great service, but a bit pricy.
We had celebrated a milestone anniversary and were seated at a decent location. We wanted to have the space beside the window. When we noticed two tables by the window have cleared we wanted to move there but were told they were booked full and had no time to accommodate. Would have liked to see the staff go above and beyond since we are paying a premium for their food. Overall decent service.
Delicious food, but it is the ambiance and the view that make the experience.
started with a drink at the rundle bar the waitress was amazing and super friendly, but once we went to the afternoon tea where we booked our reservation the waitress was not friendly and seemed very judgmental. The hotel was very pretty but the selection for Afternoon tea was a waste of money.
Incredible food such an experience! Definitely worth the trip!!!
Lovely afternoon. Our server was very kind, thoughtful and gracious.
First Afternoon Tea experience and didn’t disappoint.
Loved it!! A great experience with delicious food, beautiful food, and wonderful live piano.
It was a lovely experience and the service was exceptional. This is my second time taking in tea at Banff Springs. The ambiance was better the first time but I understand that changes had to be made due to Covid. Perhaps a reduction in the cost would make up for this.
Went for the afternoon tea at riverside lounge and it was excellent
A wonderful experience & View, they have moved from the Rundle Bar to another room in order to accommodate for Distancing with Covid & the view of the mountains framed by the large Cathedral style windows is quite stunning. While the food you receive appears to be a small amount, it is deceptively large & even with skipping a meal, you will likely find yourself quite full by the end if not bringing some back with you for later.
Worth the experience! More than plenty of food, the location they seated us in was well thought out for our request, and was a definite treat.
Went in for afternoon tea and booked a reservation. When I came in there was a seat yourself sign and no one to greet, or ask if I had a reso so I went into a room to sit and was approached by a server who said that the area was booked and reserved to sit elsewhere so I sat elsewhere and when I was greeted by a server I asked for the afternoon tea and then was finally asked if I had a reservation AND was brought to that room I originally went too because I had a table Reserved. A lot of confusion that could’ve been avoided if there was a host, or a server/bar back to greet u and ASK.
The afternoon tea is cute, $64 per person - you can do one if you’re there for the pics and not tryna break the bank.
The ambience was death quite, no music, lounge music, nothing, just the sound of people whispering and cutlery so I tried not to speak so loud as so break the sound of silence. The food was great, chef and BOH staff are making delicious pastries so 5 stars to them !
I’ve come here monthly for the last few months and it’s always wonderful. I book my reservation a month in advance and I look forward to it in the weeks to follow.
Tea was served cold, sandwiches were stale. Wasn’t the room I was expecting. Asked for a window seat.. unfortunately did not get acknowledged.. will not suggest or return. I get it, it’s covid.. but I had better expectations for a $200 lunch for 2.
Beautiful space and beautiful experience with great service! Definitely worth doing at least once.
Can't beat the view and the service and food match! Very memorable experience. Thank you, Banff Springs Hotel!
Great food! Wonderful family experience! Staff was excellent!
Amazing afternoon tea! Great views, great service.
Slightly underwhelmed for the cost. The Madeleine with smoked salmon was heavy and didn’t go well at all. The chicken sandwiches and cucumber sandwiches were good but rest of savouries rather poor.
The cakes , particularly the macaroons and chocolate cake were excellent.
The Chateau Lake Louise was way better when we had afternoon tea there.
Afternoon Tea was exceptional and the view were beautiful. The experience is well worth it and is a must for anyone.
Afternoon Tea is a great little treat. All food was fabulous. We did the traditional tea meal and it was great!
Just when you think it can't get any better; the Rundle Lounge has out did it self again. The atmosphere is so alive and energetic from the time it open till it is time to close.
Ambiance spectacular! The staff are all most pleasant and helpful
Beautiful atmosphere for afternoon tea. A great escape from the city.
Had a beautiful high tea in the newly renovated Rundle Bar at a table overlooking the Bow Valley! Exquisite!
The food and service was fantastic! The staff were friendly and they made an extra effort as we were there for my wife's Birthday
We went to the beautifully renovated Rundle Bar for afternoon tea, and even my afternoon tea hating husband was raving. We ordered the Canadian afternoon tea, which was $74 each, very pricey, but the food was very well prepared. Additional items you get with the Canadian (focussing on Canadian products) was Brant Lake Wagyu Beef and a Tuna poke very cleverly presented in a "mussel shell". The mussel shell was actually a charcoal cracker, and looked very realistic. I noticed a couple of changes as we have not had afternoon tea at the Banff Springs for a few years. Additional hot water or tea was not offered, and we felt that though the food was excellent, for $74 the offerings were a bit sparse. We were celebrating a special occasion so were feeling a bit more spendy, however I think it will be again a few years before we return. Service was very good and we felt safe with the COVID precautions the hotel was taking.
Splurging to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary we indulged ourselves with afternoon tea at the Banff Springs Hotel. The $74 pp (although a tad pricey) was worth it for this special occasion. Service was great, food was delicious and the view was spectacular.
Excellent tea service. Very enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Greatly enjoyed the afternoon tea experience. The food was excellent, though wish there were a couple more options or additions.
Service was great.
The noise level was a little high; piano music coming through speaker system was very loud.
I would definitely return, though perhaps choose to sit in a different location.
Truly a beautiful experience from beginning to end .
The food & service was outstanding and the views were majestic .
One of our favourite points was how amazing the piano player was during our meal .
My boyfriend and I did the Afternoon Tea experience at Rundle Bar and it's definitely something everyone should try at least once! We were seated at a couch with a table in front of it - wish we could have had an actual table, but this was the best view available at the time (which was appreciated). Also quite pricey, but obviously the location makes it worth it. We especially enjoyed the Tofino Tuna sandwich and the scones!
Tea was very disappointing this year because we were seated downstairs in the lounge instead of upstairs where tea is usually served. The food was still fantastic but the view and ambiance was very disappointing!!
Service was amazing. Ambiance was perfect. Would definitely return.
Tea at the Banff Springs has been on my Bucket List for years. I could picture it. My picture and the realty did not coincide. The sandwiches were good but not overly fresh, the deserts were a disappointment,. The peach tart filling tasted like baby food with a thick graham wafer crust, the Paris Brest was not appetizing to look at nor could you taste the strawberry flavour. The macaroons were also a disappointment. The Nanaimo Opera Cake was delicious as were the plain scones.
I hold the Fairmont hotels to a high standard and this time, they came up short.
Fantastic experience. 10/10.
Had afternoon tea and it was a great experience. Definitely recommend it to everyone.
The afternoon tea experience at The Fairmont is one of a kind. Highly recommend!
They had a table all set up for me in the corner with good views. It was very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. The service was good and the room was beautiful.
