Wonderful high tea great spread
When you have to listen to idiots talk about how they’ve been sitting in the coveted window seats for 3 hours as they order hot water over and over again, it ruins the experience and ambiance of high tea.
My Mom and I went for afternoon tea the other day and it was soooo yummy! The last time I went to the Banff Springs for afternoon tea was probably 5 years ago and it was good but this time it was much better! The sandwiches and the pastries were much more flavorful and I found you got much better quality of food this time round. We absolutely loved the experience and I will definitely be coming back hopefully sometime very soon. It was definitely worth the drive from Calgary.
Had so much fun and learned so much at the cocktail class. I highly recommend the experience!
Had afternoon tea in 2016 and it was outstanding. Food was delicious, table setting was beautiful. Money well spent in 2016. Fast forward to 2021 and will not recommend this to anyone. For the amount of money charged, food and table setting NOT worth the outrageous amount. Tea was delicious though and the service outstanding. Will NOT return. Too bad though as I was really looking for something special to brighten the COVID days and this afternoon tea was not it☹️
It was beautiful, we truly loved every moment and would go back again and again :)
We visited a couple of years ago and we really enjoyed it. The seating area was nicer, the food was better and it was worth the money.
Yesterday was the opposite. The staff were nice, but the room was dark, temperature was too hot inside and was stuffy. The tables were dirty, seating was terrible as we were pretty much laying down. Not being able to sit up properly gave my husband stomach ache. The sandwiches were stale. Overall it was poor, especially for the price!
I love the high tea at Banff Springs. I love the ceremony of high tea and the beautiful setting at Banff Springs. Is it ridiculously overpriced? Absolutely. Is the food amazing? No. But I still love it and I will go back. It is a fun tradition I do with my daughters.
My wife and I went for a belated 30th anniversary celebration and could not have been happier. The service was excellent, the food was superb and the location could not be better.
For that special occasion we would highly recommend
We tried the cocktail class, it was very good.
Was a very fun and educational afternoon.
Ready to make up lots of cocktails at home now.
My mom, sister and I made a reservation for the afternoon tea. While the food was delicious, the tea itself was overpriced. Great environment and service!
High tea at the Fairmont Springs Hotel was delightful. Spendy, of course, but the food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Tea is in a greenhouse addition next to the lounge, with great views of the mountains. Note: parking in the lot is $11C /hour, which adds up fast. We parked on the road to save a few bucks. Luckily not crowded, so only a short walk.
Tea at the Banff Springs is the best! The food is incredible, the tea is fantastic, and the view is spectacular!
We went for Afternoon Tea as a wrap up to a bachelorette weekend. It was a delightful experience, the teas were delicious and the food was even better. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable! I also highly recommend the Saskatoon Manhattan, it’s more than a drink, it’s an experience!
I booked the wrong fairmont for high tea. I intended to book lake Louise and booked Banff springs instead. I know everyone’s trying to do their best during covid, but The service was super mediocre for the price. By comparison Banff lake Louise service was far superior.
The piano playing was excellent.
The crisps and dip weren’t part of high tea but were super delicious.
Traditional Afternoon Tea was underwhelming. Tea was good. The breads were very dry, taste of dishes was unremarkable.
First cup I had still bore lipstick from a previous guest.
Setting was perfect and the service was good ..........
Food was good but not as good as last time. Portions were very small.
It was a lovely experience with many delicious bites and excellent service.
We mentioned while check in thay this is our Anniversary and wild like to have memorable one and requested that to allocate us window sitting but they didn’t. They easily could have arranged. I personally felt that empathy was missing, guess that comes with age and experience.
Amy who was serving us had a great knowledge of menu and explained the speciality in detail. She also brought us special chocolate with congratulations written on it. She made our experience very enjoyable!
Overall great experience ! But too high on price but experience is worth it!
Go for the opportunity to walk around the hotel after, not for the meal. It’s not a foodie experience, not by a long shot. It’s an opportunity to spend time in what is probably the most beautiful hotel most of us will ever see. Service was superb, food was acceptable. The portions are tremendously small, but there are enough for two to share and enjoy. It is a “tea service “, not a five course meal. Don’t bring much of an appetite, unless what you are hungering for is the view, which is out of this world. What was served was made well and tasty, just not what you will remember from the experience. If the price doesn’t scare you off, you’ll probably enjoy this very much.
What you dream afternoon tea should be like. Stunning scenery in a spacious elegant room. Delicious food that acknowledged our anniversary for a personal touch. Servers attentive and genuinely warm. I’d go every day if I could. 🥰
It was a really fun, relaxing thing to do with my brother and sister. The scones, sandwiches and desserts were delicious. My only note for improvement is the Vermilion Room. The ambience of the Vermilion Room is more formal and not super conducive to a relaxing experience. The previous year, Afternoon Tea was hosted in the Rundle Room which was a much nicer, more relaxing and chill vibe. I noticed that other guests of the Vermilion Room Afternoon Tea ate, guzzled, and rushed out in an hour or less, which I can see because of how formal and elegant the space is.... you feel like you’re in your British grandmother’s house and you’re terrified of being “improper”. Afternoon Tea in the Rundle Room is much more comfortable and makes you want to slow down and enjoy the moment.
From going last year to this year the service was lacking. I felt like it should og been in the Rundle bar not the middle of a open space.
Incredible experience with great views, great food, lots of delicious tea, and great service. Highly recommend.
My sister and I did the Afternoon Tea at the Rundle Bar, we had a lovely experience from the staff, to the food and drinks and the incredible view. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys such experiences.
Our server Bruce was so amazing!
Had a wonderful time, food was delicious and atmosphere was amazing
Wonderful experience having tea with that view! Service was excellent, food was extraordinary.
Afternoon tea at the Rundle Bar was a fun experience. The food selection was awesome! The service was excellent. My only negative would be the atmosphere - Rundle Bar is a bar, and not the same ambience as high tea at, say, The Empress. But, all in all, a great afternoon.
We found the hotel elegant and the Rundle Bar - the site of our afternoon tea - to be warm and charming. The greeter was prompt and took us to our reserved table - well located in a solarium style area. The server was knowledgeable and acknowledged our preferences. She explained our options and was attentive to our needs. The beverage and food offering were varied and in sufficient quantity.
The ambiance of the location was excellent.
Very enjoyable and memorable.
This was my second time getting afternoon tea here, and oh my it was just as impressive as the first! This time we were seated at the window of a large atrium, overlooking the hotel courtyard and the mountains of Banff beyond. Teas are quite premium, and there’s a 3-tiered hourglass timer at your table to tell how long to brew it for. The tea set is something like 5 sandwiches and 5 sweets, which is definitely enough for a full meal. I’d even recommend this for lunch over an afternoon “snack” as it is definitely too heavy for the latter. Service was attentive and they helped each of us pick and pair their teas, which was great.
We had such a lovely time. Afternoon tea was perfect! Had an amazing view of the mountains and the pianist was wonderful!
What an amazing experience. Our server was fantastic! We had high tea and she explained everything wonderfully. My sister ordered a bottle of bubbly for us prior to our arrival and she said her experience was also exceptional. Thank you!
We have a great time at high tea, food was delicious
Great experience. Staff is very accommodating of allergies and knowledgeable of the teas and food. Highly recommended for afternoon tea.
Perfect way to end a girls spa day! Food was amazing and service was what you would expect from a Fairmont hotel!
We have had the High Tea at Fairmont a number of times. This time it was lacking the quaint, special feeling of the previous room with the comfy chairs. As well, there was no tea cart brought out to explain the different teas and give us a chance to choose something unique - ordering it from a menu was not the same since we can do that anywhere. The price seemed to have jumped up too, and no additional benefits were noticeable to warrant such a price. The food was ok, nothing outstanding. We will seek High Tea elsewhere in the future.
It was beautiful there .
Good was yummy and enough that we even packed some back.
Breathtaking view, great food, beautiful experience
Great environment, great views, great experience. Would definitely recommend!
