   The food, drinks, service, ambiance (music and outdoor seating) were perfect for my partner's birthday celebration. We will certainly be back! Our waitress Jocelyn was kind and friendly without being overbearing and we had the best time.

   As usual, we had outstanding food at Ruta. Their Queso and their calamari appetizers are second to none. My wife had the shrimp tacos, I had the seafood enchiladas and my daughter had the short ribs. All were authentic Mexican cooking and cooked to perfection. There was no room for desert. The only thing was that it was a little pricey. However, I’d rather pay a little more for the outstanding quality

    The food is some of the best I’ve had in NYC. The service is friendly and attentive. The music is great (but at times a bit loud). Overall, a great restaurant and I look forward to my next visit.

    By far and away, the best Mexican restaurant we have frequented in Queens. Authentic recipes, very fresh ingredients, flavorful results, and every changing specials keep us coming back. Also, excellent selection of tequilas. Thank you.

    We went to Ruta Oaxaca for Valentine's day. It is more expensive than I'm used to, especially for Mexican food. I'm more of a taco truck kind of guy. But, knowing I was going to spend more than usual, I was totally satisfied. All the food was excellent and presented well. The waiter was friendly and the ambiance was very good. We will be coming back here for another special occasion at least sometime later this year. I'm also considering coming for one of their brunch specials sooner. Fully recommended if you can afford it.

    Great spot! The from the complimentary chips and salsa and a little soup to warm us up to the amazing food and cocktails. The Chori Queso was unreal and the Sexy Oaxacans were so delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so attentive even when it started getting busy. We can't wait to go back!

    Amazing Mexican food with so many molés - each dish with a different one. This is real authentic Oaxacan food. And the staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. A great find among the wonderful restaurants of Astoria.

    The food and service were excellent. If the place is that good at a Wednesday lunch, it must be terrific at dinner time on the weekend. The room is pretty. The menu is interesting. We kept commenting on how good the mole was. The waiter knew all the ingredients and how the dishes were prepared. I asked him to cut my meat because I had injured my elbow. He cut the chicken quickly and he was glad to do it. The music was too loud. We asked to have it turned down. It was turned down but later, it was turned up again. Before we left, we scouted the tables to see where we could sit next time so we wouldn't be under the music speaker. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
