Ruth's Chris Steak House - Markham
Came here for my birthday. The server and server's assistant treated us like royalty for the night. We had an amazing time.
Didn't like that there was not onsite parking. Was told to park across the street at Cineplex.
Was warm and friendly customer service by front desk and waiters who always wanted to ensure our comfort
Food was amazing and with the price, you pay for quality and you get that
Ambience was perfect for dining
Will always recommend
We went there last Sunday for my birthday, three of us ordered ribeyes and it was perfect however the waiter brought the same for one order of seafood combo. Waiter very helpful and considerate. Food was excellent. Definitely will return.
Great food and good atmosphere
We had outstanding service from our server Keith. Food was excellent thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this new Ruth Chris Location
We were there to celebrate a birthday. They did an excellent job at recognizing this and brought out a complimentary cake with candle. Service was good and for the most part attentive. Steak was exceptional. Mixed drinks were well done and well presented - very good in fact. Sides were so-so and overpriced for what they were (I have had better at comparable steakhouses). Shoestring fries were good, but over-salted. Brussels sprouts were good, but missed on the char/caramelization from the bacon and honey that is added. The restaurant is brand new. Unfortunately, we were seated in a location that was high traffic (close to the exit of the kitchen with servers coming and going) and beside an exit door. Not as cozy as the rest of the restaurant seemed to be and if we return would ask to be reseated.
I give a 'poor service' is not for our waiter but the manager. We ordered a special cut Tomahawk Ribeye to share. We had been told that it had to be cut and served by a manager. The meat was put on a small table right next to our table. The manager cut the meat and distributed to plates and served. After he cut the meat, there was a very big piece of bone left with a bit of meat on it. He supposed to put it on a plate and left it on our table for us to pack away (for soup or dog). However, he dropped the bone on the floor. It was still ok, BUT he picked it up, put it back on the plate then PUT IT ON OUR TABLE!! He said that was for decoration. I was dumbfounded!!! The bone was brought from the floor to our table and it was served by a manager?! I think that was really insulting and cannot believe it happened at a so called high end restaurant!!
Food was amazing but very pricey
Great service and the food is very good. Definitely worth the price.
The steaks were good but burnt a little. The salmon was over cooked and a bit dry. Surprised that the steak didn’t come with sauce unless requested.
Good service beautiful decor and friendly staff.
We came back to this location especially for Matthew! He always has the best service, recommendations, and conversation! What a great way to have an amazing date night and celebrate 2019. Thanks!
Went to celebrate 2018 in style. The food, service and atmosphere was great. My party had a great time. We all enjoyed our meals and my son even got some vanilla ice cream compliments on the manager. That was a great touch as he was very happy after.
Excellent. Will make another visit for sure.
The waiters didn’t receive proper training. The waiters were in sourced from India and had no clue about steaks, wine and alcoholic drinks, and food and wine pairing. However, they were extremely attentive and polite. P.S. You can’t blame Indian waiters for not knowing about steak as Indians do not eat steak or beef for religious reasons. I guess saving labour costs is most important to increase the bottom line not maintaining reputation.
After reading other reviews, it appears that this location purposely substitutes Caribbean rock lobster ( i.e. orange when cooked) for Atlantic lobster (i.e. red when cooked). Caribbean lobster is quite cheap, tough, and tasteless. This is fraud considering people are paying in upwards of $400 for dinner for two. I believe this location counts on the ignorance of their customers to perpetuate this fraud. Prices are extremely high and service, food, and value can’t be justified. The steak - this steak is for very wealthy people or foreigners who have never had a steak. Steak is not to be baked and smothered with butter - anyway you cut it it still tastes horrible and the texture is like jello. When you bake a steak, ordering it with bone in does not increase flavour but rather increases the price of an already very bad tasting steak. Complaining about the fraud simply creates hard feelings between the restaurant and their customers. I provided a tip anyways.
My wife and I also got very sick right after eating there. I would recommend if you want a decent steak go to the keg and order a 20 onze bone in rib steak with all the veggies cooked medium rare for $38 or 1/10 of the price paid at Ruth’s Chris and 100 times better. By the way they grill their steaks and charge $15 for a real Atlantic lobster tail. Note, Ruth’s Chris did not know how to make garlic butter for dipping your lobster into. I would recommend Ruth’s management should also visit the keg to get some pointers.
Overall the food was good. The atmosphere is very suitable for special occasions. It provides good quality of service.
I was not impressed. Not for the prices charged. I don't mind paying $82 for a steak, but that steak had better be darn good! At those prices, the steaks are not allowed to be bad or mediocre at best. Both me and my wife had to spit chunks out because parts of the steak was not palatable due to the toughness of the tendons and fats etc. I will not recommend this restaurant to my friends nor do I wish to return. The kids meals at $24 each were a joke. I've had better chicken tenders purchased frozen in a box from the local supermarket. The slider were so bland and disgustingly dry I was embarrassed to look my kids in the eyes.
Great experience and happy to have one in the neighborhood!
Had a nice dinner with friends. The steak was amazing. The staff and waiter were very friendly. Would definitely go back.
Lamb chops two of the had tendons. Crab cake is great only crab meat and no fillers. Fillet steaks are okay. Skip the au gratin four cheese potatoes. Sweet potatoes casserole was good. The rice that comes with the fish was not great, kind of dry even though it is covered in sauce. Bread pudding was okay. Irish coffee can be ordered as decaf. Ice cream is Hagen Daz so no need to order it. They have a kids menu. Service is attentive without being intrusive.
Our server Anestis was super friendly and humorous, we had a very delectable family meal there. The steak was superb with family sized sides for sharing.
Food and service were exceptional. Great atmosphere for a date night!
While the food is definitely more expensive than other steak houses it was incredible. Served hot and remains that way during the duration of dining. If the prices weren't so high I'd go more often but, my god they were tasty.
Excellent service by Heidi, great food
Ambience is good, would be better without TV screens during evening dining
not good fo the money. seafood tower was a disaster. server has an attitute. forgot our desert. we had to ask two times so w ended up packing the desert to go. food presentation is terrible, chicken and fish taste like paper.
Food and service quality were excellent, except for the mozzarella and tomato salad. Was half expecting a Caprese salad, same ingredients. Instead got a kumato tomato salad with halved baby mozzarella balls. However everything else was delicious and quality was good. I just don't feel like the value is there. Paid almost $400 for 2 people. 3 courses and wine.
Food was way too oily. I get that there’s a butter plate to serve the steak but I really hoped the waiter could have asked if I wanted my steak to be dipped and rubbed in all that butter! We ordered a steak to share, a starter salads and lobster bisque, and it was more than $200, for just these dishes. It’s American cuisine not fine French dinning. Probably would only come once a year tops.
Excellent place service is great food was excellent.
The evening was comfortable and lovely. The staff professional and engaging. The location and parking was easy. The food was very good to excellent.
We dine out frequently however will not be a regular patron because cost is excessive. This falls into special occasion dining only. If there is an incentive thru loyalty cards or other programs it would help to justify the cost and my frequency to your restaurant would improve.
It was an amazing dinner! Our server was great! Very friendly and personable!
We were celebrating a wedding anniversary and even though it had only been open 6 weeks,
the service and food were outstanding.
Many Thanks for beautiful lunch! We'll be back.
Had the Tomahawk Steak - Amazing, Cooked to perfection. The Staff made you feel at home. Compliments to the Chef and all staff! Will definitely come back as soon as possible.
Service, ambiance and food spectacular! Def recommend.
Excellent experience at Ruth's Chris. Our waiter David was very attentive and courteous. My girlfriend and I ordered an 8 oz. filet with 2 lobster tails, lobster mac & cheese and creamed spinach paired with a glass of cabarnet. The steak was very hot and flavourful. I ordered a medium rare and it quickly became medium as it kept cooking after being delivered. No plating fee which was great as some other steakhouses charge a plating fee for birthday cakes. Would definitely come back again for another special occasion.
The waiters are very pleasant and friendly. But he had given the wrong filet to me and my friend as a fact that we have realised after eating but we didn't complain since the filet is so good and both of us can actually eat rare and medium rare. The seasonal menu is a little bit too much for a small amount eater but the quality is excellent. We are having a great night!!
Annual birthday gathering, the waiters heard us talking about it and brought a piece of cake, very sweet.
Our waiter, David, was superb. The steaks were perfectly done. However, the table for 4 was too small to give enough space for dishes. Also, there is not enough parking space on site, which is not good for winter months.
Everything was as you’d expect at a high end steak house. We went for our son’s 15th birthday (he loves steak) and they treated him very well. The food was excellent only two complaints and they are minor.
1. Onion rings were only item that wasn’t 5 star they were bland and in need of seasoning
2. The bus staff didn’t give us all our leftovers as requested and we didn’t realize until we were unpacking what we thought would be lunch the next day.
I attribute the second issue to the fact that it’s a new restaurant (open less than a month) and it was very busy.
Definitely will go back for a special occasion.
I'm happy that Markham have a steak house in the middle of downtown. We had dinner as a family and the vibe was relaxing, smooth and delightful. We were able to have a great conversation through out our dinner since the noise level was mild and the steak is always prepared at perfection. I would recommend Ruth's in Markham.
