    We enjoyed the Omakase experience with sake & wine pairing. I, being the Sake drinker, would recommend it over the wine - if drinking wine just order two glasses of what you want. Sake lovers will enjoy a wonderful selection of four sakes. Each are unique and go lovely with its paired Sushi/Nigiri/Sashimi. Artful presentation accentuates the flavors for a waiting palette. I don’t understand playing music with lyrics as a dinning experience - 90’s r/b with 60’s classics I do not get that - music should be heard but not listened to when dining - background- ambient- subtle : not interjecting combative and a bit to loud. My age is irrelevant my expectation is to fine not dance or sing.

    Expensive for the size of the plate sure its premium ingredients but… you can have better dumpling 10 for 10$ vs 3 for 24$ and it taste similar

    The sushi was amazing. They are creative without losing too much of the traditional. The Aburi are great, and they have a selection of excellent nigiri and sashimi.

    Still very good sushi. Prices don’t make sense! For lunch, no drinks, no appetizer of side, with service and taxes, we ended up with a $100 bill per person. And I was still very hungry.

    Amazing first time experience. It’s not your typical sushi place. After two platters of sushi we were still hungry but our bill was over 100$. Price is expensive but still overall good

    Although the service was good, the food did not meet the standard. The quality, freshness and combinations were definitely not upscale and commensurate with the price. There are much better Japanese restaurants in Montréal.

    Service and food were excellent. My first time at the restaurant and found out about on a « best Montreal sushi spots » article. It’s definitely I high end sushi place and the prices reflect that but you get what you pay for. The waiter skillfully recommended dishes in accordance with our known likes and it did not disappoint. I give it five stars, was an expensive night but hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had.

    Absolutely awful service, warm plates served cold and waiting on the pass for far too long. Walked out of the restaurant after multiple service and food errors. For price / value, definitely don’t recommend

    Beautiful design and unique food. The sashimi in light soy and truffle roll with shitake mushrooms was amazing. Very delicate flavours that are very well balanced.

    The sushi was fresh and delicious. The chocolate hazelnut cake with miso ice cream was superb! It made for a memorable birthday dinner!

    Exceptionally overpriced. We had the omakase experience which was three hours long for absolutely no reason. The meal starts out with the two best dishes (ok sashimi and very good nigiri) and then goes downhill after that. We were dying to leave by the time the desert came out.

    Good food. On the pricey side but pretty typical for high end LA-style sushi. Service is slow. Should be at a 5 star level but customer service drags reviews down as evident by the experience from many diners.

    We set in the terrace , that was nice , nice breeze Service was very good , the waitress , polite , professional , the best was the busboy , Thomas that was there all the time , servicing us Good , the plate with the better sashimi was very good , the rolls was some , ok , and some , too Americanised , nothing you will see in Japan but in general , food was tasty They ran out of all their Japanese beer , we had Peroni , Italian

    Ryu Peel was the best omakase sushi sashimi experience I have ever had! It was absolutely delicious and I was blown away by how tasty the sashimi cuts were presented in an ice bowl, along with the choice of miso soup or salad, tuna tartare sushi rolls were the best sushi rolls I have ever tasted. I also ordered 2 cocktails of the Momo and Banira Mystique and very tasty fruity drinks that was exquisite for my taste. I would absolutely come back to this restaurant and experience the omakase experience again I would rate this the best restaurant I have ever been to. Very romantic setting and very clean. Servers were phenomenal and compliments to the sushi chefs they nailed this restaurant. Highly recommend to come ry their omakase experience!

    This was my 2nd time visiting Ryu Peel and I have a fully different experience than the first. I dont want to take away from a great environment but we were seated in the corner outside I had to squeeze in by someone else's stroller to the point it was uncomfortable and I could barely move the entire meal. I even was inconvenienced when that family decided to leave as I had to leave my seat and move my chair to allow them to exit. While this is relatively small issue, the larger one was that the food was no where near as flavorful as my first visit. Having had different offerings from rolls/ specialties/ raw items they all fell short in flavor but not short in cost. Not sure what happened from visit 1 to 2, but as a result I don't believe I will be back as its not worth the cost to be that disappointed in a meal.

    Had a decent time my with my wife. Good food overall, nice staff and service cocktails were tasty too. Environment and vibe were good and it wasn’t too noisy. The downside: Felt like it took a little long to get the food even though it didn’t seem too busy. Space was a little narrow and booth wasn’t comfortable as seating is built on a hard surface with little to no cushion. While food was good overall, I didn’t feel it was worth the price and didn’t compare to other similarly priced sushi locations.

    I was a bit skeptical Ryu has several restaurants in town, my first reservation in Westmount had been cancelled by the restaurant (ventilation problem), I booked at one of the other addresses and in the end it was a nice surprise!

    My date and I really enjoyed the nigiri and sashimi platter, high quality, freshness it just melts in your mouth. Great service, I appreciated that our bar tender prepared my date a mocktail even though it was not on the menu. Surely in the top 5 best sushi place in Montreal in my opinion. We will come back for sure.

    Modern decor and sleek design making eating here a memorable experience. The menu has a wide range of options and their cocktails are all amazing (we tried 2). We are from the signature Maki menu, picked 3 rolls and they were each spectacular. My only feedback would be we seemed to have several servers and didn’t know who was helping us. Also, their dumplings were widely reviewed and they were out of both. Out of their control, I understand. Just would be nice to know upfront. Regardless, I highly recommend this restaurant for sushi in a great part of Montreal
