We went there March 16 to celebrate my husband's birthday and even mentioned this on our dinner reservations and nothing was mentioned when we came in and from our server. We waited for awhile at the door to be seated as there was no one at the door to greet us then someone noticed us finally. We get that the restaurant is affected by Covid 19. Our server hardly smiled and was not very pleasant at all. We were seated to a table next to other guests and was asked to move. Throughout the dinner, our server did not look happy at all or pleasant, almost like she did not want to be there. Overall, not a very good experience. Food was ok. The whole restaurant had a very "dismal" or depressing atmosphere,
The experience at S&L is always nothing less than stellar. From the reservation to the service and, of course, the absolutely amazing flavours in the menu, the “restaurant meal” becomes a pampering experience. Spoiled! Well done JRG!!
Our meals were delicious however the amount you get vs what you pay is not balanced. The harvest chicken should be a bigger serving for what you pay in our opinion. But otherwise it was enjoyable.

Ordered the sablefish. It was completely tasteless. Very disappointed considering it was a $42 piece of fish. And very small. I’ve eaten here before and will go back again. But I’ll never order the sablefish again, that’s for sure.

Food presentation was bad. Steak was medium rear when it was supposed to be medium well, and the meat is not AAA. Sautés mushroom and mashed potatoes looked like instant, not from scratch. Anyhow, I expected it to be be between Cactus and The Keg but it fell really short. Hopefully it would be different next time.

Service and food is always exceptional, that’s why we return; except for this visit. This visit exceeded all others. Our server should train others on how to guarantee return visits. She absolutely nailed it - beginning to end. Kudos

The weekend morning brunch time is always the best time to go to if you do not want the noise. It can be quiet me and us time. The food is always good and if you have the app. It’s the Best!

Excellent food served in a timely manner. However, the size of the restaurant and lack of noise reducing measures does result in considerable problems should someone wish to have a conversation. Also pricing is a bit high. Nevertheless, the food keeps us coming back.
Excellent food, good service! My only complaint the hostess, rude and not helpful at all.
Made valentines reservations. Got to the restaurant to find they did not have our reservation. Which was unfortunate as we booked a few weeks ahead of time and had specified wanting to sit in a preferred area away from the bright kitchen area. After a 10 minute wait we were seated, in the bright kitchen area. Needless to say, the food was great, our server "G" was amazing! So attentive and personal. Really made up for the crappy seating.

The service was terrible. It took over 35 min to get drinks. 10 minutes to get water. Appies were good main course was good however fries were cold.

Food was good but the service was very slow as they are obviously understaffed.
We ordered two lobster rolls and they both barely had any lobster filling in them! I did mention it to our server and she did get us some extra filling from the kitchen, but that took quite some time. We were disappointed that we couldn’t eat our lobster rolls right away and the condition they arrived in.
Service was excellent. Our main course was delicious. Dissapointed the calamari has changed. Your calamari was THE best we had ever had, dont think we'd order it again unlike before when we always ordered it.
Also dissapointed in the draught beer selection. With all the craft breweries around you need to broaden your lineup. Bud? Budlight? Coors? No thanks! Also your wine by the glass was disappointing. Again, so many good BC wines and only a couple choices.
I know this is out of your control, but it was so loud. My husband and I were there on a date and we didnt bother ordering another drink to sit and relax and chat, too loud!
It was bad enough I have written an email to the company who owns S&L. I would never recommend this location to anyone. The server was awful at her job and the food was not great. I got a rare steak and it came more raw than blue rare to the point of the centre being cold. The food sat under a heat lamp for a long enough time for my potatoes to form a crust. When sending the steak back the waitress had me put the steak on a side plate, Rudely explained why I was wrong and then leaves the rest of my food to get cold. The live music was insanely loud. Overall awful.
We made a reservation in case it was busy. It wasn't, I had asked for a high top table in the bar on the online request. Instead we were given a small table next to the stairs to the washroom. Restaurant wasn't busy at all so not a ideal table. Food is incredible and the service was very nice.
This is definitely a splurge restaurant for me, but since it was my birthday, I went all out and got the Wagyu. It was an amazing dinner and worth the occasional budget breaker. Service was top notch and the environment is fantastic.

Great food, great atmosphere, and our server was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and always smiling.
Ordered wagu steak with prawn side. Prawns were not very good. Ate 1 and left the rest untouched. Waitress took plate away and didn’t ask why they were all left still. If someone paid for a side dish and didn’t eat it one should ask the question
We keep trying and it’s always the same. Over priced and not good.
Food was too salty for my liking.
The restaurant was very noisy - understood it was New Years Eve however it has always been a bit noisy. Small wonder there is no absorbing materials etc on the ceiling or walls. Overall we still enjoyed ourselves.
Food was DELICIOUS! Made a reservation through the app, they followed all my requests. Server was very friendly and had great recommendations.

It was our 47th anniversary and my husband has not been feeling well so it was the first time in a couple months that we have had a dinner out. Everything was perfect...very friendly staff, great food in a quiet and classy environment. Thanks for helping us celebrate!
