What a spectacular experience! We had the 5 course tasting menu, I had the premium wine pairings, and my husband had a few different cocktails. Every course/drink was beautifully executed both in presentation and taste. The flavours were carefully balanced and hit all the right notes' the wine pairings were surprising and delightful! Our server and the sommelier were both exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. This place is special, without being pretentious. It's a beautiful venue, albeit slightly noisy at times. These guys know what they're doing. I can't wait to go back and dive into the full menu!

The decor of the restaurant was very generic and left us a bit disappointed. All pasta is too salty for us. I don't know why they didn't let us choose our own doneness for the steak, and the duck breast, too; a friend couldn't eat the raw stuff. Really enjoyed the grilled pork belly, my piece was fatty and thin, but I had a friend complain that his piece was too fatty, I wish the restaurant had better screening of ingredients. The desserts are great, especially for the cherry clafoutis. I will also recommend the grilled peach salad, this is a sweet salad and the addition of cheese and amber walnuts is very clever.

An absolutely lovely evening. From start to finish. Happy hour, 5 course tasting menu, explanation of courses and wines. Everything you could want out of an evening out for dinner. Food was to notch. The asparagus gazapcho was a knockout and I would have never ordered it. I'm so glad it was on the tasting menu. See you again at the supper club I'm bringing a gaggle of friends.

The halibut was a miss...good concept...but the fish was lacking a sauce or a way to make it juicy....it just tasted incomplete and a bit dry. The oysters were a bit of a miss - nothing I'll miss/crave. Cocktail menu was great - but the metal straws are not compatible with the blended drinks, impossible to drink while it's still cold. We informed our server, and she expressed she felt she had little options to resolve the issues and didn't have any influence to forward the concern to management - even though she has recieved the complaint from others. It was just an average meal. However, my spouse ordered the duck breast, and it was a great dish.

Had the tasting menu with wine pairings. All the food was excellent and perfectly prepared, and the paired wines were both unique and complemented each plate perfectly. The Tiramisu dessert was especially perfect, possibly the best tiramisu we've ever had.

S&V is great! It was my second time going and it was even better than the first time. I highly recommend letting one of their bartenders make you a custom cocktail- they really know what they’re doing.

A total experience. The service was warm and welcoming. The decor, modern but not cold. All the staff who visited our table were knowledge and friendly, like you could tell they truly enjoy being there. The cocktails are presented as a magazine, very eye appealing and well done. We tried the Rise from the Ashes and Our Oasis. Rise from the Ashes is lit on fire tableside, so much fun! We did the tasting menu. Every course was different but full of so much flavour. And just the right amount! We left feeling satisfied but not that we had to go home and lay down. So we continued on with our evening, enjoying a bit of a cheese and an after dinner sipper (the list is lengthy and full of choice). Recommend to all diners looking to experience something new and fresh! Uptown Waterloo is lucky to have! Thank you to the S&V team

Tasting menu was an interesting way to sample a wide range of tastes. Small portions. Attic char was our favourite and tenderloin done to perfection. BREAD served with meal..a rarity. One of us had beef tartare and enjoyed. Great service and our server detected a birthday event and surprised us with a savory treat in the end. Impressed

Amazing cocktails, great service ! Overpriced entrees for amount you get (we literally walked to olive restaurant) right after to get board. Also, my wife and I ordered oysters and got 3. Although oysters were beautifully prepared you dont give at odd number to a couple. Having said this, we will be back for cocktails. Danny

Hoped I could rate S&V higher than this, but was disappointed. Drinks were ok, but less impressive than they sounded (and cleared from the table before I was done). Charcuterie board was nice, but very light on the meat and 2 similar style of cheese - white cheddar and a manchego. My main was cold, sent it back and then ate after the others at my table. Mains were unremarkable. Thought perhaps a drink or one appetizer would have been Comp’ d with having to send back my meal but nothing. Our server was polite and helpful. So much potential, but at best, this was a mediocre experience.

We enjoyed a fantastic evening at S&V last night, celebrating my father’s 80th birthday Exceptional service from Maddie, she was patient with our group of 2 seniors, 2 adults and 2 children. We had the charcuterie board and seared foie as starters. I highly recommend the foie gras. Our table also ordered the braised short rib, beef tenderloin, truffle risotto and I ordered the tasting menu. We all left extremely full and very happy. I live in the GTA and regularly go to upscale restaurants. The level of artistry (both taste and visual) in their menu is on par with 5* venues in GTA. I’m so happy that a K-W option of this calibre has finally arrived to the region. We look forward to returning and I’m already booking Mother’s Day and Father’s Day here!

Absolutely incredible experience. We loved the variety of cocktails and had about 8 different ones that were all unique and tasty. One of our party had the tasting menu and it was outstanding. We tried many of the sharing plates and all agreed the scallops were a favourite. We were well looked after and had a wonderful evening

this place was amazing. My boyfriend and I went for a late valentines day celebration and we were looking for a place that had a creative touch but also wasn't too far from home. This place exceeded our expectations to say the least. I liked how it gave high end vibes but no pressure on the customers to dress to impress. The service was amazing, my water never got close to empty. I would for sure recommend for people looking to try something new!
