Great night out with the my 12 yr old, she enjoyed the theme immensely! Your server will make or break the experience, unfortunately ours was no where near as engaging as the server next to us. They got table games, we did not. We had to ask for the game card, they did not. Overall an enjoyable experience, just a little disappointed in service.

Visiting from out of town. I was excited to take my 15 year old daughter here to experience some fun while dining and of course take photos (again she is 15 they take lots of pictures). Entering the restaurant was the most and only eventful aspect of the said “most instagram able restaurant in Chicago.” Nice concept but pretty lame. We went to do the mission but the first clue we had to watch the magician do a trick to move on and they could not find the magician. Turns out he went home.
Food was good for the price.

Horrible. They force you to spend $20 per kids meal . There is no other option. That does not even include a dessert. WAY overpriced and none of the “experiences” occurred that we’re suppose to. Horrible time sad to say would never go back. You can force people to spend $20 on chicken strips and fries for kids when it’s a kid themed establishment.

The theme is immersive and so much fun. Unfortunately, the food was not great. This is somewhere you go once for the experience and don’t feel like you ever need to come back.

Had a great time with the wait staff - they were so much fun! It took a bit to get the food but we almost didn’t notice since we were laughing so hard. Excellent time - and props to Agent Happy and Agent Mardi Gras did the excellent time!

The food was ok. Tasted good but was cold when it arrived. The service was bad. In the 2 hours we were there we received one refill on our drinks after trying over and over to flag down our waitress that we saw maybe 2x. It’s an ok idea. My daughter loved it but I don’t believe it’s worth the money.

This was my first time in Chicago and I was so excited to come to SafeHouse. It was all fun until we sat down. Our waitress was AWFUL. It took her 10 minutes just to get us water, and we never got silverware. Once our food arrived, we asked her for silverware and again we had to wait while our food got cold. She made excuses the whole time, but I watched as she sat behind the counter talking to the hostess. What was supposed to be a fun date night turned into a miserable experience. Would not recommend this place to anyone! She also asked us if we wanted alcohol, even though we are both underage. It’s a mess and children are constantly running around, knocking into tables and workers trying to do their scavenger hunt.

It's an experience to do once because the service is what you are paying for. It is fun doing the whole agent thing with kids. The food is definitely not worth the price. It is below average at best.

We went to celebrate a 50th birthday with the family. It was a lot of fun. Exploring all the areas was the best. Food was good, a little pricey but good. Got a complimentary dessert for the occasion which was a nice surprise. Would def go again.

It was not made clear that changing the fries for burger dish to something else cost money. When we asked our waitress about the cost of the meal, she was very rude. This attitude really spoiled the entire experience.

The safe house was a fun experience. But the food was not all good. I even told them that it was my birthday and got nothing from it. Lots of kids was running around. I feel like this should been more for adults to have fun....

This could have been a fun experience but the service was so SLOW. We waited 20 minutes just to order drinks, then another 10 minutes to order food. You can’t start the spy activities or scavenger hunt until you’ve ordered your food so we were just waiting around for a long time. And we have two young kids who were growing increasingly hungry and frustrated. I think the restaurant were short-staffed on servers, but there were a lot of hosts standing around doing nothing. Such a bummer - our kids love spy stuff and we were looking forward to it, and actually the food was above average, which I was not expecting from an experience based restaurant. But the service was so bad that I would not go back.

Our server was friendly and attentive, but did not explain the spy missions or what to do. She just handed us a checklist. We figured out what to do by overhearing another server explain it as the customers were welcomed. The rest of the staff was great.

My group had a fun time and there was something for everyone. I was disappointed when out party of 9 was given 1 check and told they could charge separate cards for the bill but if i wanted to split the bill per each couple I would have to do it myself. I spent 20 minutes dividing the bill

The password entrance is cool, but it flops after that. If we are pretending to be spies, we should actually have a mission where someone is pursuing us. If we get away, we get to go party in the club area. The scavenger hunt was dull.

It’s fun with kids but pricey (20 meal for kids - no price option) and regular entrees are around 20. Our food was cold when we got it - three kids and two adults. It’s a fun place but I wouldn’t got back after you’ve done it once.

I was unimpressed by Safehouse overall. The premise and experience under-deliver. We couldn’t even eat the food it was so bad. Each of us had a few bites and pushed it aside. The sever didn’t even notice and $100 later we were happy to get out of there. If you have a table of 4 guests and hardly anything was touched, I would train the servers to ask and see if they could comp a portion of the bill based on disatisfaction. Instead, we questioned the charges were told that’s how it goes and now I’m Writing a bad review. There was one person who seemed into working there...the others could have cared less. Disappointment. Was listed as a good place for kids. Nope. Save yourself the trip and find another 15 restaurants in a few block radius that would be much better for the whole family.

I can see how some people/families would be into this place. It’s quirky and fun. The staff stays in character.
We went here as part of a personal burger challenge in trying and rating burgers in Chicago otherwise it wouldn’t have really been our scene. Unfortunately, the food was not quality. They must have the same vendor for fries as McDonald’s and somehow managed to cook them worse. The cookie skillet tasted cheap, not homemade. And then the burger was very meh. The cheese curds were good.

We were lucky to go on a Thursday night and get in quickly. When we first arrived it was not very crowded, but it quickly started to pick up. There was karaoke going on and the vibe was nice. My wife and I had the meal deal that they offer for $30 and it was delicious (the crispy chicken sandwich was everything)! Agent Happy took care of us and he was great! We also had the espionage drink and they were great! I would definitely say give it try as it is a fun place to hang out and have some nice drinks and food!

SafeHouse was a great place for a family dinner. My 9 year old son loved the gadgets, clues and “mission sheet” supplied before our food arrived. You will spend time up away from your table looking around and playing, but everyone else is too, so not to worry. You will also spent time trying to figure out the Password, to which you are conveniently given clues to by your server. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will go back again:)

This place is an EXPERIENCE, it was SO much fun, we had kids 10 and 7. They both had a blast. The food was better than I expected. The service was lacking, I assume they are understaffed, it was a Saturday 4pm so not even regular busy hours and the whole thing was just slow. The server was kind and prompt when asked for things but we had long periods of time with no one addressing us or checking on us. Actually every employee was pretty kind and upbeat, just again I guess understaffed or not very clear on who needs to do what. We had to ask for the kids activities and such. I would come back with out of town guests for the fun aspect of it.

Cool entrance routine but once inside, it was a spy-themed Chuck E Cheese. Lots of kids (as young as 6-7) running around to press the many buttons and pull levers - limited parental interaction so it wan’t a great dining experience. We eventually asked to be moved. Service was slow.
